So I was wondering if any kitten foods are really bad. I have a litter of 6, 7 week old kittens. On my mission to find slightly less expensive dry food yesterday I bought one that didn't have the best rating on accident, because the store didn't have the one I was looking for. Im on a super tight budget now though due to a ton of vet costs from mama cat and kittens. Im confident in their wet food, its the dry food that im unsure of. Should I be that concerned.

YES, Shayfury Shayfury , absolutely. It's like eating junk food. It causes or exacerbates health problems. You made the connection there. High quality food means a healthier cat (or human) and usually, fewer health problems and/or vet bills. Don't scrimp on their food (or yours). You don't have to spend $$$ but do buy them good food. We do well with Blue Buffalo wet and dry foods.

Kittens need all the nutrients and proteins from wet food in their formative year. Best is to feed wet food meant for kittens as all the nutrients the kitten need is in there.

I'm not sure how many brands have this but you can also get wet food labeled 'For All Life Stages'. This one you can feed to kittens all the way into their adult's life and don't have to switch over from kitten food to adult food when they turn adults.

My boy's a rescue and since he came home at 3 weeks old, he's on this till now. He's past 5 year old now.

I'm comfortable with Purina ONE kitten food. It seems like a good balance of quality and price, I've had good results, and most cats/kittens like it too.

All I could find yesterday was purina dry naturals. Its rating isn't great, but I have to wait just a little while to get the blue Buffalo I was after.🤷‍♀️ hopefully it will be okay temporarily.

Actually, Purina isn't awful. They have a higher-priced line, too, ProPlan, and they own Fancy Feast, which is actually a fairly good food.
