I went out for a run this morning! It was the first time in quite a while as I only run in above-zero (Celsius) temperature. I also run with the Nike Run App where they have guided runs; it's like someone shouting encouragements in my ear. In fact, I credit the app to get me started running again during the pandemic.

Yesterday it was 18 months since my darling Vincie girl crossed over.
Seems like only yesterday I would hold her and we would dance.

some of the lyrics to a song we danced to:

you float like a feather in a beautiful world
you're just like an angel, your skin makes me cry

it's a ballad so we would slowdance💞

I had a good day, bittersweet. Big Cal seemed to know and we cuddled a lot and talked about our girl

It's going to be in the high 40s today, I'll take it!😎

Miss you. How've you been? Boone and Gracie?
I appreciate the concern. We are all doing well. Happy and healthy. Needed separation from the site to get real perspective. I worry so much about what is said on here because you guys are the experts that I lose sight of what works for Boone and Gracie which doesn't always align with the advice.

A big one is feeding. Boone and Gracie just don't want to eat as often as what is recommended on here. They do better with just two meals a day about 12 hours apart. I thought they were going through a "picky eater" stage because they just didn't seem to want anything for a while. Even their favorite foods. Then it hit me... maybe they just aren't hungry. So I went back to the twice a day feedings and they are clean platers ( or actually bowlers  ) again.

Yes some people are more knowledgeable than others about cats health but that is not cut in stone.
Go with your gut.:hugs:

But, you remembered the good times..These were tears of love... ((hugs))

So bittersweet. Makes my heart warm thinking of you spending such a tender moment with Vince. Our fur babies always have a special place in our heart and can touch us so deeply. Thinking of you today.

My DD had a good checkup at her pediatrician this week. She’s still in the 99th percentile for height and NOT taller than me yet. I’m taller by 3/4”.:flail::bawling2:

She has been SUPER helpful lately. Any chore she’s been asked to do; shes done quickly and without complaint. She gets her school work done quickly and also without complaint. So since it was just DD and I and early in the day; I took her to a nearby bagel shop for breakfast. The weather was nice so we ate in the car.

I had an asiago cheese bagel and she chose spinach and onion. They were huge! And SO delicious! My first “real job” after college was nearby and my mother worked for the same company (different department; but small office). So back then Mom would sometimes stop and get us bagels and leave one on my desk. It was kind of sweet taking DD there.

Oh the other positive? DD still fits the Easter dress I bought last year. The one she literally only wore for a few pictures. There’s something to be said for being tall but thin!:flail:

Well! Would you believe it?
After last week's fiasco trying to get Emily into the biggest and heaviest carrier, I decided to order a new "calm pet carrier". It arrived yesterday and I put it together - rather disappointed as it is not as robust as I had hoped. I put a soft baby blanket in it and placed it near the cat trees and toys. Within a few hours Mogi was sleeping in it! Today, the sun is shining too brightly for taking photos, but here is Mogi back in the box.

It's a shame that Emily has to go back to the vet on Tuesday and not Mogi, but think positive! Before she goes to work my daughter is going to help me catch Emily, put her in the carrier and close the drawer.

I may have to get a second carrier if Mogi claims this one for her own! 🤣

I organized all my reusable tote bags. I had way too many to start :paperbag: and whittled it down to just what I use / need in various sizes. A few got tossed out since they had holes and generally weren't in good condition. I ordered two new sturdier canvas totes to replace two that I use regularly for groceries. I got the two as freebies from conferences so they're the cheap gauzy polypropylene material that doesn't last long.

I have about a dozen bags in used but good condition that I'm not going to use but I have no idea what to do with. A few are freebies from conferences, others are dollar store buys that I had originally bought to use at a previous job. Everyone these days have more bags than they need / use so I don't know if I should bother posting the bags on the local FreeCycle group or just toss them.

Not really much bigger than Mogi, just more than 4 lb heavier! According to the company information, the carrier is for small animals up to 9 kg (almost 20 pounds), though I wouldn't like to risk transporting such a heavy animal in it!
Emily is no more than 12 pounds, Mogi is a lightweight at 7.5 pounds. Mogi is coming up to 14 years old, Emily is anything from 9 to 15 (depending on the vet).

How tall is she?
5’ 4.25” ... So taller than a number of our adult family members. She’d likely be the tallest girl in her class in a school room. Fortunately she’s not very self concious about it. She says she likes being tall. It is making clothing shopping difficult sometimes because shes too slim for juniors but a lot of kids manufacturers stop at 14/16. But we figure it out.

How tall do you think she'll eventually get? Like 5'9", or even closer to 6'?

Our local food bank and a couple of churches are taking bags because they use them to give out or deliver meals to folks who are homeless, in need, or can’t go out themselves.
