TYSM, dustydiamond1 dustydiamond1 ! I am jmuhj1 on twitter and my main ("Business") Page is (at)jmuhj.acat and my identity is Jmuhj Acat.
I think I just started following your personal account. I'm not very knowledgeable on social media except here, 1 other cat site and Instagram. I've been, and still am, searching for the safe place I put some of my 2020 tax info  :runaround: :gaah::headscratch:

Okay, well, that should be in DOCUMENTS or FOLDERS under the name you gave them, such as TAXES or IRS or 2020 TAXES or similar?
Or if you don't organize, it could be in SAVED MAIL.
I'll look at my account to see if you're there. I'm thinking that, since I can only access facebook now through direct link (i.e., a new article with a facebook hyperlink symbol -- the white "f" in the blue background) or via my twitter account, that if you and/or Todd followed me on twitter and posted his cats on that platform, I would definitely be able to crosspost them to my facebook Pages, of which I have 5, all cat advocacy related.

This is a Desperate Emergency due to the weather. Recently I started following a gentleman named Todd Lehman on Instagram. He is feeding 65 or so cats in numerous locations within 5 minutes of where he lives in Homewood Alabama, near Birmingham. There are a couple of large colonies, a couple of small colonies, and several stragglers with seemingly more cats appearing everyday. He does TNR, gets them to the vet when needed, has feeding stations and shelters set up for them all. On Instagram he posts videos and photos of the kittys, quite a few who can be seen as very loving towards him. He feels that many were dumped or abandoned and that they could go to forever homes but he has nowhere to take them to be fostered or adopted out of. I had watched a video of a sweet little calico acting so bewildered as to why she was being put back outside away from warm and safe after her TNR and not wanting to leave the carrier to go back out on her own, it broke my heart and I resolved to help Todd find fosters if not adopters the best I can. There are two other colonies he knows about but the owners of the businesses where they are located want him to TNR but not feed, it’s so sad.
He applied for 501(c)(3) non profit organizations in October 2020. Still in process. He is so overwhelmed with collecting food, making sure all have shelters and are getting fed, trapping and transporting to the vets who are working with him that I offered to research help for him although I’ve never done anything like this before. Any help, advice and/or suggestions including guidelines for potential fosters and adopters would be greatly appreciated. Right now the need is greatest for getting the ones most ready for socialization off the street to a warm safe place.

With the wet and cold temperatures the need for rescue and fosters is urgent. If you can or if you know of anyone who can help please contact Todd, myself or Jcatbird Jcatbird
His 24hr Contact info is:

He is katdadde on Instagram and TCS.

I’m Dustydiamond12 on Instagram.
Thank you all.
I'm logging off for the night shortly but if you check your twitter account you'll find me following you and I've left you a tweet there. See you tomorrow I hope. Todd is on my fb main page but I still can't see or post any individual cats there. I believe I can through twitter if you can post some of his individual cats' pix/contact info there.

Success story of Ms Floof. Watching this video of her not wanting to go back to the outside after her TNR broke my heart and is when I resolved to help katdadde find fosters.
She has come so far.

A buzzard in a trap is interesting too! I have caught many creatures but the buzzard still comes to visit! I hope you got the raccoon out without a problem. Mr. Grey is so sweet! Great work and all hopes that the kitten at port a potty enters the trap.
Thank goodness he was a fairly friendly raccoon. When I trapped the kittens sibling he/she was standing right next to the trap so it is very wary. I’m going to spend the next couple days just feeding and talking to this baby and try to use a drop trap with it over the weekend.

Definitely look at some videos if you are not familiar with how to use one. I am not great at it, which is not to say that you won't be. If someone could be with you, it might help. Make sure it is on completely level ground. My mistake was that I was on uneven grass and the cat, who was a large male, hit the side of it hard enough to move it to a slope in the lawn which allowed him to see a small window to upend it and escape.

This was the 1st time he saw Mommas kittens. They were gorgeous and very well taken care of thanks to all the good regular food Momma was being supplied so she didn't need to spend time away from them scrounging for nourishment.

K katdadde A drop trap is a great idea. You will have to be patient using it. I found that if I camouflaged my traps, it helped. I ran into the same issue of cats seeing cats get trapped and then being wary. I used things like tree branches to make my regular trap seem more like a bush to hide in. I also used other methods. I had a trap that had a door that I could rig to stay open with a full water bottle in the door. The bottle had a twenty foot piece of string tied around the neck and when the kitty was fully inside, I snatched the string and when the water bottle flew out, the door shut. Not exactly a drop trap but the same idea. You have to be quick but also patient. The cat must be involved in eating when you drop the trap. I used things that were extra yummy, extremely distracting and time consuming to eat. Gerber second foods, all meat baby food worked well. It takes time to lick that up but is too yummy to ignore. It also has a scent that may draw the kitten out. If you can take it there warm, the scent is stronger. Putting a regular trap inside a cardboard box helped me too. The box is less scary than a trap so it’s good camouflage. Make sure that any trap used does not carry the scent of previous catches helps too but I know that isn’t always possible when working on a site where you just caught a raccoon or other cats. Or buzzards! ;) You can try using some catnip in the trap too. Some cats respond to that but others don’t. I use that in socializing as well. Great work! Keep trying.
