Good day!

I want to try to change my cat food for my 5 cats but feel conflicted. I have tried to do research and everything seems to miss the actual truth on the matter.
does anyone have any recommendation on a healthy dry and wet food. I have one 19 year old, two 3 year old's, one 2 year old and one 8 month old. I want to make sure they are getting good food. at the moment I am feeding them fancy feast chicken wet food and kibble dry food. one of my boys had blood in his stool and I took him to the vet...he has intestinal irritation so they gave him medication. I just want them to eat better.

thank you!

Hi!
You could consider Natural Balance or Merrick Backcountry pouch foods, or kibble. I also use Blue Wilderness kibble too.

Have you asked the Vet about healthy food choices? I buy grain free dry food for 3 of my cats and one has to have his fancy feast dry. They also eat grain free wet sheba pate and grain free fancy feast it's higher priced wet food but that is what I buy. Your local pet store may have recommendations

I really like Nulo. I was feeding Taste of the Wild, Dr. Tim’s and Science Diet at different times. Dr. Tim’s may only be available online depending where you live it’s small scale and literally created by my veterinarian. But his focus is more on dog nutrition.

if you search the web on how to read cat food labels, theres loads of good explanations around. they have suggestions/break it down which I think is a big part of understanding/deciphering which cat food is good or bad. theres also catfooddb.com which is has review of all/majority of cat food brands.

my recommendations for good cat food- depending in your ability to deal with certain "bad" ingredients- tiki cat, nulo, hounds and gatos, koha, rawz, kiwi, evangers (maybe), Canada fresh, meat mates, and soulistic (maybe), Merrick LID. all of these are in reference to their wet food selection.
