Feb 19, 2019:
Back for another dental and more root extractions. She came back a poop cat. On lockdown in the bathroom first. She was far too angry to let me help her with pet wipes. I put a meal and a camera in there with her until she cleaned herself up. Then it was to “cat jail” to make sure she was all clean before being released back to gen pop.

Cats being so fastidious, it's not surprising she was embarrassed and angry! Poor Krista.:hearthrob::kneading::hearthrob::sniffle:

She was usually a sweetheart. But when she pooped herself at the vet, she was angry! I used to say, “she did her business to show she meant business.” Some wild animals poop in the fight of flight moment. Because it makes either choice a butt-load easier. 😹 Krista was probably growly going into the carrier, trillin’ like Dylan on the car ride home, and growly once more coming out of her carrier. It was just easier on both of us to give her time and space in the bathroom until she was clean again. She was very forgiving too. I’m pretty sure she rode my belly at the end of the night—poop or not. Poopernaut. 🤦🏼‍♂️😻

This is all I have for Feb 20. Two kicks and that’s good enough. “The service is pretty quick around here.” 😹🤦🏼‍♂️

My nickname -- among others -- used to be "Our Lady of the Pan" because I was frequently seen with scoop and wastebasket....on patrol at least 5 times daily.

There’s three litter boxes there for one cat. 😹🤦🏼‍♂️ You’ve seen the poop flag (her tail tell) and moon landings. That may have only been round one. I wouldn’t be going into the office much longer (another week?) But back then I would get motion alerts on my phone for the Poop Cam. And if it was a poop, I was coming home on lunch break to clean up the one in the box and whatever bonus rounds got deposited on the carpet. From either end. 🤦🏼‍♂️😿

I used to have an automatic litterbox. But honestly, I like these low tech uncovered manual ones better. So much easier to clean and keep clean. And no dumb seams that her pee always seemed to find.

Yeah. I have other friends who have gotten rid of their self-cleaners because they just don't. Self-clean. Besides, we should always monitor our cats' vitals and eliminations for obvious reasons. I have 5 boxes now for 2 cats. I had 7 for 9 when we moved here. Two of those, which are still being used, are huge. I have one covered one, because occasionally someone will want to use that one. The most popular one is a standard size under a little table in the master bedroom. Of course it's the most difficult to maintain. It's covered, without being covered.

The most difficult to maintain is clearly their favorite. Cats! 😹

That is a nice pic. Krista looks very content and relaxed.
Great GIF! You might also enjoy THESE:
Hopi cat eating corn on the cob - Google Search I don't have the GIF of the particular Hopi cat eating corn that I love so much, but these cats are also enjoying their vegetables very much.

Ah, an avid baseball fan, I see! :hearthrob: :kneading::hearthrob:⚾
Krista loved baseball! Because she knew she had a captive lap/belly/chest for three hours. Even an arm rest would do. I don’t think she cared a flip about the game. She just loved sharing that time with me. 😻😍

That was us watching the World Series in a hotel room the night before her big dentist appointment (the remaining mouth extraction. 🙊)

Well, yeah, there's that, to be sure! ;) :hearthrob: :kneading: :hearthrob: :cloud9: Three hours of unadulterated bliss? *And almost no one likes going to the dentist!*🙀😾

I liked taking Krista to the dentist. Does that count? I felt bad for all the work she needed and all the mistakes non-dentist vets made in her mouth. It was such a relief to have a specialist on the job and finally be done with the piecemeal extractions every few months. And we had a great time both hotel stays (the consult/procedure and the follow up in two weeks) and even the drive too.

Or rather the breaks between driving:

*"I'm a pro here, Dad. Leave the driving to me!" Of course it counts! I said "almost no one likes" because I look forward to my bi-annual cleanings, being aspy, a clean freak, and a fan of fresh, clean mouths and teeth. ;)

I rescheduled a recent cleaning because of the surge in covid cases in CA. I know they keep a clean shop and I can even get a rapid test from them. But it still makes me nervous to have my mouth open indoors for that long with all these new variants running around. Even now, our numbers are looking better. But I'm hoping I might even have a vaccine in my arm by my next appointment in May. That's probably too ambitious given the politicization of the effort and the gridlock of the funding in Congress.
