So cute! Looks like you have a nice room and sounds like it's nice and comfortable. I rely on my ceiling fans in summer. My roomies' room doesn't have one so they have a table fan. I put one in the living room in summer too, because my roomie likes to sleep in there sometimes and watch TV in there when there's nothing on her package.
I live in Miami. Thankfully most rooms have fans. They're keeping the ac in the 70s to save money. But i get hot easily.

I'm going to miss winter. Lol

I like my room. But it's quite small. I wish the kitties had more space to roam around

Kitty and Elsa look happy though. Maybe they appreciate being away from the stress and noise of the other humans in the house. You sound a bit more positive yourself. 🤗

Hmmm... maybe you need to look into moving somewhere that actually gets winter. ☃ Wanna trade places with me?

That doesn't sound too bad. Lol just don't think i want to deal with all the snow. 🥶
I haven't been near snow since i was a child. The thought of it right now is really nice tho. I can be sitting calmly and I'm so hot. Meanwhile my niece is running around with her robes and sweaters. Lol

The kitties have been doing well. But for some reason Kitty is anxious being in the room today. She keeps trying to run out (she hasn't done this since the first night. ) She keeps doing her meow that means something is bothering her.

I tried shutting off the fan and her behavior didn't change.

Yes terestrife terestrife , I'd be happy to send you about a foot of snow!
I wouldn't mind lying down on some cold snow. Lolol my new fan feels so nice and cold. It's moving the cold from the ac really well. It's such a relief.

What a cute pic of pretty Kitty! Maybe she hears something outside the door that makes her anxious or interested. It will pass.
Cold depends greatly on elevation. People didn't believe we got snow in the High Desert -- at 4,100 feet, which is the reason for it. With climate change wreaking havoc everywhere, it is more difficult to determine how temperatures will be. There is no more "normal" unfortuantely. But if you moved north of where you are, and to a higher elevation, it might be more temperate, and so, more pleasant for you.

Bad news. Sorry i don't respond to your message but this is serious.

My niece now randomly has serious allergies and they're blaming it on the cats. Even tho it started in disney. They told her not to go home.

My sister wants me to shove the cats into the hot garage full of ticks. I called my oldest brother and he has no room for me.

I texted my youngest/ older brother. The one that hates cats. No response yet. But i doubt he'll help.

Might call the middle brother to see what he'll say. Keep my kitties in your prayers. My sister wants them in the garage so my niece can come home. Not sure what I'm going to do.

Edit: still waiting. I hate that my sister acts like i don't care about people just because I'm protecting my cats. She lectures me that humans are more important as if i don't care.. I'm trying to do what's best for everyone.

Normally the brother that hates cats answers me right away. But he hasn't answered my text. I was too scared to call him and risk hearing him angry.

Middle brother can't help. Only says he'll help me buy an ac for the garage. That's about it.

Oh no. That's absolutely ridiculous! Praying for you. And stand firm. You can compromise with another air filter or something, but they're just going to continue pushing your boundaries and guilting you into following their whims.

Your cats are every bit as "important" as humans. They are your family. They are in your care. They depend on you for their safety, wellbeing, and happiness. They are not inanimate objects to be moved at will. NO WAY can they go in the garage. They are your companions. Stand your ground. The woman needs psychological help.

I know but it's not my home. It's not up to me if they stay inside I've told her everything I'm willing to do. But she says I'm putting the cats first.

My niece is willing to let me move in with her but shes 15 hours away.

I don't have much money and I'd have to get us all over there and look for work.

How is the niece re: your cats? And is her living situation one that would be better for you and them than where you are? If it's at all workable, I'd do it. The people there are pushing you further and further and it doesn't seem to me like they'll stop. If you have any out that's workable, I'd be gone in a NY heartbeat and good riddance to them, family or not.

I agree! Normally I'm not the type to say take on debt, but if you can get someone, like one of your brothers, to loan you enough to cover gas and a hotel, I'd pack up and move the 15 hours, and just apply to every job you can even if it's not ideal, and pay the loan back eventually.

It's not your home, but you're putting money into bills if I recall, so you should have some say.

Not a great option, but better than staying in a house that you and your cats are slowly being pushed out of. And if you sister sells it, you'll be homeless anyway.

You're working from home right now, right. Could you continue that for a while after you move? If not, any job, even Mcdonalds would help pay bills.

As for money, maybe your brothers would chip in and give you enough to make the move to your niece's place, if it meant you wouldn't be asking to move in with them.

YES, Lari Lari and they may be family, but as I know all too well, "family" means $#!t too often. People have forgotten how to care for one another. This is the result. And this is why each of us needs to be independent-capable. I know it's not always possible to be independent. But when push comes to shove, as it clearly is here, having one's own "out" can be lifesaving. Literally. And YES, rubysmama rubysmama thank you for bringing that up. NEGOTIATE, terestrife terestrife if you can. I was a very timid person before my ex dumped us. But I had to learn how to fight for myself and my loved ones, very quickly, and I did. It seems as if you may be at that point, too. You can do it. You must.

Ok. My brother that hates cats is letting me move in with him. He says i don't bother him just wants me to keep the cats in my room.

I know the option of going with my niece is better. But my brother is closer and it'll save me moving expenses. If things are tense there then I'll just head to my nieces house.

Its not ideal but it'll give me time to figure out where to go and what to do. Save up money on case i do need to head to my nieces home.

My brother says he needs two days to clear the room. I hope my sister doesn't insist that i put the cats in the garage still.

Thank you to everyone replying. I'm sorry if i don't personally respond. I'm reading everything. Just been on the phone with everyone trying to find a solution.

Thank God! Your cats have gotten used to being in one room for now, so this will hopefully be a good temporary arrangement while you continue the plan of finding a job in a cheaper city.
