Feb 12, 2019:
She went in to the vet today because her feeding tube was once again coming loose.

The final picture I have of her with the tube.

I get a call from the vet. Apparently, the vet had removed the remaining suture and was ready to re-do the sutures. She had the tube in one hand and her needle in the other. I’m not sure who had a hand on Krista. But she got uppity and yanked herself free, leaving the Dr with the tube liberated from the cat. Since I was only using the tube for meds and insurance (better to leave the tube in too long than to put her through another intubation), we decided, she decided that we were done with the tube.

It is amazing how quickly the hole closes up. She wasn’t even sent home with a bandage.

Yeah. That's a big reason why cats abscess so easily. But they need to heal very quickly in the wild. :hearthrob::kneading::hearthrob::goldstar:

This was an open wound, held open for a month, that closed before I brought her home and required no home care. 😲

In case you need reminding of that purr...

*Little Rumbles*
I know. I know they're up there watchin' and that we'll be together in due time. But the time between their leaving and then is SO difficullt. Every morning I touch the urns of each of my beloveds here, and tour the resting places of those outside in the yard. I have a shrine for my parents and I talk with them and pray for them. Many of my loved ones are in other places, far and wide. I know they also watch over us. But the lack of their physical presence is so hard to bear.
The love. The purrs. In the case of Tarifa, also the love bites and tail shivers. The scritches and snorgles.
Sometimes it's all I can do not to lose it completely.

And this one, I missed from “yesterday”,

This one is titled, “If you ever wanted a neck tattoo, now is the time to get it.”😹😻

Oh my cat! I am being followed on Instagram by a rescue in SF. I briefly followed back until I saw this beauty up for adoption right now:

Too much temptation. I have to unfollow them for the same reason I haven’t browsed the shelter website yet. I’m still not ready and I don’t want temptation like this.

For comparison,

Besides. I don’t think it would be fair to Krista or Sassy (above) to adopt solely because I still want my Krista back and Sassy looks like her. 😿😢
