I think they are all girls except for the ginger boy but others will come along and have a look as well.

What color is mom? Is she red (orange / ginger)?

Hmm, I think all of the girls might be torbies. I see red streaks on their heads. Quaver is the most obvious but it looks like they all do.

Yeah it's normal for the mom to leave the babies much of the day (in the wild she has to hunt!). As long as they aren't screaming for her it's fine.

Thank you, awww ive have never heard of torbies before. My son loves quaver as shes so different.
Mum has only ever left them to eat and go toilet before today so shes really suprised me how shes leaving them, they all seem happy no crying will keep an eye on weight gain. Thank you

Quaver is definitely a torbie and white like their mother, as she has the red patch on top of her head. With the others, I would want to see more pictures to distinguish torbies from tabbies. It's normal for brown tabbies to have warm brown markings, especially near the ears. On the kittens other than Quaver, the brown and black head markings look pretty symmetrical, so I don't see obvious torbie patches... but they may have torbie patches in other parts of the body.

Yeah, mom is definitely a calico. The two kittens I can see well are Classic Marble Grey Tabbies from what I can see. Maybe put up another set of pictures in a week of their sides and their rear ends with tail up and I bet we could classify them better!

She's a torbie (tortie/tabby) with white, some people say torbico or caliby. In a regular calico, their black patches are solid black; it's the stripes in her dark patches that make her a torbie.

It looks like her babies may be classic tabby pattern, and I've found that classics tend to have brighter colors than mackerel/spotted tabbies.
