My positives were being out and about running errands in the car while listening to podcasts. It has been probably a month since my last trip out. My car is just below a quarter of a tank, so gas was still not needed, yeah! Cats have some new food to add to the rotation as there was a clearance canned cat food that was super cheap. I also picked up Wendy's and treated my mom to food as well. There is a frosty in the freezer for later. 🤤

Since you live in the metropolitan Chicago area like me you probably know gas has gone up in price. Glad you were able to score a deal on super cheap cat food today.

I have 2 double chocolate chip muffins and my neighbor is making southwest chicken salad with sharp cheddar grated with a spicy ranch chipotle dressing.
It sounds like someone is all set for dinner tonight, enjoy! :hugs:

We brought Carleton to the groomer this morning and even after all these years I can't help getting uptight because I know how much he hates going. I do keep up with his combing but being a Persian he still needs a spa day every 4 months. The groomer is at our vet's office. She comes once a month and is amazing, both patient and gentle. My positive is Carleton looks so handsome. :creampersian:

I have always been intimidated by long haired cats. My mother had to trim 2 mats out of Olivia's fur while we were there the other day for showers. She just laid there in Mom's lap like no big deal. Yet she's not a fan of the brush. :dunno:

I just opened a "12 Teas of Christmas" set from Christmas. I like a hot cup of tea in the afternoons during the winter. Today's tea is Apple Cinnamon. It's warm and relaxing too. :cloud9:

Ah yeah, nearly had a heart attack when I saw gas prices! Last time I was out it was around $2... it was ~$2.50 today!!! Definitely going to wait and hope it goes back down the next time I run errands. Thanks! I often post deals in the food deals thread when I spot good sales :) This one was 3 oz. clearance cans for 25 cents! Makes me so excited when finding good deals.

Do you know when the gas prices jumped? Did I plan my outdoor excursion for the perfect time? haha.

Here he is all fluffed out after his spa day.

The gas prices went up just a few days ago. I'm waiting for them to go down too. I heard on the news that Monday and Thursday are the best days to buy gas but I'm sure there are exceptions. Carleton says thank you very much for the compliments. :touched:

My positive is Carleton is stretched out asleep in my lap, purring with his paws crossed right now. :zzzcat:

Cal is coming downstairs again in the mornings. A few weeks ago she was on the sofa
sleeping and for some reason the washing machine startled her while it was in the final
spin cycle and she bolted upstairs. My girl is so sound sensitive.💖

So it was perfect timing on my part, haha. Have you ever heard of the GasBuddy app? It is a favorite of mine as it shows what gas prices are at different gas stations. Prices are updated by users. When I used to use it, it would help me find cheaper gas stations on my travel routes.

My positive is laundry is in the works and clean clothes will be available within a couple hours.

Mia6 Mia6 I almost didn't recognize your avatar, who's the cute dog?

W WillowMarie No, I don't use that app but my husband searches for the cheapest gas prices. I usually just go to whatever gas station is on my route or else my favorite one by the house. Can you believe I have a favorite gas station, lol?

My positive is I had my follow-up appointment for Phase 2 of my dental implant and got the stitches out today. I don't have to go back again for three months.

That makes sense. What makes it your favorite? I'm all about being frugal, so the cheapest ones that day are my favorite.

Recently found a new season of Sabrina on Netflix. Added to the shows I'm watching right now.

For one, it's only 5 minutes from the house, It's also exceptionally clean and has a convenient store inside. Their prices are comparable or less than other gas stations. Last but not least, the employees are cordial and friendly.

Another positive, after leaving the dental surgeon I made a quick stop at the grocery store and treated myself to one of my favorite vegan cookies - Hilary's chocolate coffee cookie. The company is located right here in Chicago which is another positive. 👍
