Dr. Hale made sure I read well in advance about lip entrapment so I knew what might have to happen. He was really good at making sure I had tons to read and was educated what all the possible outcomes were and potential issues. I mean a lot of reading. It was like being in school but I really didn't mind at all as I like to know - so I truly appreciated how detailed he was making sure I understood things. I wish ALL vets were like Dr. Hale.
As we did a root canal on the canine - she's clear for the lip entrapment though - thankfully. At least for now.
TR was 307 and 407 teeth. Her chart looks amazing for everything else. He and I were both a bit surprised to see that.
I have Bupe :-) and I promise I will keep her schedule *nods* I totally agree give it no matter what to keep ahead of that pain ...and I'm kind of shocked that her vet would have given her Metacam which I'd have to put in her mouth. A bit of a yikes but now that I understand fully, I can ask for different in certain circumstances.
She is pretty loopy right now -and skittish- so I'm not bothering her. Much as I just want to hold her and reassure her, I'm letting her do this in her own time. I'm sure it was traumatic for her so I'm letting her be her.
PS / EDIT -I already booked her two week follow up :-) - and she just came upstairs and is purring and headbutting me acting like all is right with her world.
She's coughing a bit every so often (not much) but that's probably from the tube and I know she has a sensitive throat so I'll keep my eyes on her.
