My Feral And Rescued Cats

What fun, you reminded me of a cat-sitting some time ago, where I stayed overnight. One cat was a shy youngster while the other cat and I had some fun earlier in the evening roughhousing a little bit - this was the first time I learned how hard a cat can whack LOL
In any case, I woke up in the middle of the night with the shy sweetie sleeping on my hip

I've lived all kinds of life, and I can truly say that IMHO, there is no greater bliss than sleeping with cats.

Yes, I saw that. Unfortunately, here in NY the bureaucracy tends to take the "Shut up and pay your taxes. We know what's best" attitude towards such things, and ignore citizen's petitions, at least for the most part. If you happen to be a big-money donor, well, that's another matter.

tarasgirl06 I agree with the “cat bliss!” Purring by my ear is like music. Peanut butter and celery. That’s a good way to put that. It is amazing too.

N NY cat man I know what you mean about the bureaucracy. Money talks but I met that same thing here too. Nothing is impossible but it takes a lot of persistence and diligence as well as invoking the almighty dollar to show it is cost effective to do TNR instead of other routes. Donations count but keeping cash already in state hands can work too. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush? We can try. After all, I had little hope of getting things changed here but it happened at the end of the battle. Never give up!

I certainly understand the cat bliss being second. Lol You and Michelle are very lucky to have each other. That is how it should be.

Furballsmom That’s so neat that the shy one appeared on your hip as you slept. Lol That makes me think of all the times I have told people to try sleeping in the room with new kitties and not to be surprised if a scared kitty decides to curl up with you as you sleep. Not only did shy kitty become brave but was also watching over you while you were most vulnerable. As for swats..... yeah! Cats can pack a punch!

Furballsmom He loves having his ears rubbed upwards. He is going for jack catbit. I think I’m going to have to stop though. It seems to be having a strange effect on him. Having had sufficient experience with most alternatives, I'll go with cats. And cream cheese. Although peanut butter is acceptable on a slow weekend night when the cream cheese is otherwise occupied.

I had a cat many years ago who used to lie in wait for people on a set of spiral stairs. When someone would walk under the stairs, she reach between the treads and pop them one. She whacked my father so hard one day that it blacked his eye!

SO...why am I here this early? I'll tell you why. SOMEONE DID SOMETHING MEAN TO SCAMPER! I don't know what. I went out back to take in the morning feed bowls, and he was there, eating. He shied back away from me! He did let me pat him once, but when I went to sit down for our usual visit, HE RAN! I called him, and could tell that he wanted to come to me, but was just too afraid. SO...back to step one with my baby boy, and if I find out who did something to him, I will end them. Or I will at least make them very sorry that they ever approached a cat with anything but kindness in their hearts! I. AM. LIVID!
