I can't find my little one's food anywhere in store or online. Every flavor and size bag of dry Crave is gone. It is weird because even the Crave brand wet food is gone. But, the Crave brand wet and dry dog food is fully stocked. I buy Salem the adult chicken Crave brand dry cat food. (Yes, I know if it FAR from healthy, but it is the best I can afford and the only thing Salem will eat.) I ordered a bag off of Amazon last week because they were the only ones selling it, but it is scheduled out to ship in February! When all this mess caused by covid started in January, I figured it would be worth it to store a few extra bags "just in case". I have enough to last a maybe 2 1/2 months. So, Salem is set for now. But, I was just curious if anyone else here who feeds Crave, either wet or dry has come a crossed the same problem. I checked and there doesn't appear to be a recall. So, maybe it is just a supply chain interruption?

You would need to get in touch with Crave directly. Sometimes, if a company is phasing out a product, they will just stop making it., Hopefully, that isn't what's happening, but you need to hear what's going on straight from the company.

If that is the case, start slowly transitioning your kitty oiver to a new food.

Good luck!

When I bought Delilah's Crave at Petsmart the location was kind of empty in its Crave dry and was missing a couple of her favorite wet flavors as well (she loves the turkey and duck cuts). I give her the indoor variety dry for certain meals and wet for others.

It's out where I live too. They even had it at the local grocery chain here, so between that and PetSmart it was readily available. I would say 2-3 months ago I saw it was "reduced to clear" at PetSmart and then it slowly started to dwindle online at chewy, amazon, target, and walmart too.

I did contact the company and they'd said it wasn't being discontinued, but offered no reason for the shortage. Based on the evidence I'd guess they've stopped making it but don't want to admit it's discontinued, so that we continue to snap up the last of the available inventory while hoping it's only a temporary shortage. I've already been eyeing up similar foods to transition too for when I run through the couple of extra bags I have. It really stinks though as my cat loves the stuff.

I found it in Kroger the other day.

It may be something with bag sizes.

Thank you to everyone who replied. Sorry, I am just getting back to the thread. The holidays were brutal. 🤯 I hope you guys faired ok.
Anyways . . .
EmersonandEvie EmersonandEvie I just emailed Crave (Mars) through their contact page, but just to be safe I have started to transition Salem to a new dry food (Wysong). I figure if I can get her to a 50/ 50 of the new dry and the Crave, I could more easily make a complete transition to the new if needed while stretching out the Crave. Do you think it would be safe to go directly from a mix of 50/50 to the new or should I get her closer before making a complete transition to 100% new?
H hurricanemix100 The bag I ordered from Amazon came today, early and the expiration is for December 2021. The other bags I have bought in the last 6 months had expirations for April 2021. So, maybe that means that they are still making Crave? I don't know. At the very least this bag is from a newer batch. I agree that it will suck if they do stop making Crave. Salem LOVES the stuff too and the ingredients are not too bad for a dry food. Oh well, time will tell.
To anyone else trying to get a hold of Crave, wet or Dry, I just checked Chewy.com and they finally have it in stock! :yess:

Sorry, I thought I replied to you as well. There isn't a Kroger's anywhere near me unfortunately. From here and other sites, it seems like Crave shortages could be a regional thing. I normally shop at Meijers and they have been out for a while. But, I might try PetSmart, as you mentioned. It couldn't hurt.
Out of curiosity, which variety of Crave Dry do you normally feed? Salem started on their kitten (chicken flavor) kibble and then switched to their chicken flavor for adults. I tried to switch her to the indoor salmon and chicken formula when Salem started to get a little chunky, but it made her violently sick.

I feed Delilah the Indoor.

Perhaps your cat is sensitive to the salmon? Do you feed her salmon in other foods? Or maybe there is an additional ingredient in the indoor. Best way to me would be to compare labels item by item and see what's different (that's what I do when I have a reaction to a different variation of the same item - I'm very sensitive to artificial sweeteners and I've found that in regular supermarkets a major brand of hot cocoa has sugar, but in dollar stores it seems to have sucralose)

Salem gets freeze dried salmon as a treat on occasion and has never reacted to it. So, it must be some other additional ingredient in the indoor. I am going to compare the two Craves like you suggested.

It also could have just been a bad bag. Some supermarkets, when they don't have a good turnover, things lay. If the bag is on the top shelf, it's with the lights constantly on it. I've had that with human food. There is a food I buy for me, but whenever I get it at this one store even if it's not expired it has a rancid smell. I'm just offering suggestions. Perhaps try a small bag of the indoor from a different place than where you usually shop.

I'm seeing it more online and at physical stores again. So perhaps it was just a temporary shortage. Fingers crossed it's around for a while.

Chewy canceled my autoship for Crave wet food. When I questioned them about it they said they contacted MARS PetCare and confirmed that all of the Crave wet cat food trays have been discontinued. I am so frustrated, it's like every 2 years whatever I am feeding with just goes away. Now I get to start all over 😿

Seriously?

Good thing I already started transitioning Delilah to other foods.

I've also successfully fed Delilah the Nutro and Sheba portions.

It's weird. One petsmart was almost devoid of Crave. Another was stocked and only clearing out the Duck/Turkey and Salmon Trout.

But I checked Crave's website, and they have no wet cat food listed. Only dry.
