I seem to remember seeing a calculator that would give right amounts for dry/wet/homemade food, and my key word guessing is just not working for me.

I have the two kittens in my house who I am working with to socialize (the adults are going to be TNR from outside between my house and my neighbor), and I don't know if there's a growth spurt going on or what, but I was hoping to find the calculator to make sure that what I'm giving them is enough.

The boys were probably born in May or so this year, Jemmy was neutered 11/4 and Leo's rescheduled neuter is 12/7. Leo's original neuter date was 11/11, which is when I started them with Revolution (for their fleas), the wormer from the vet (they just got their second dose of that a week ago), and because they both had an upper respiratory infection, an antibiotic (fortunately liquid format) twice daily. So now they're all done with their medications (well, Revolution will be an on-going thing, but they're not due again yet), and they seem much hungrier than before and I wanted to check how much they should be getting. I'd brought them inside a month ago, so I don't know if that is a factor.

The calculator I remember seeing was something along the lines of putting in a percentage of how much of canned food, how much dry, etc and adding in the info about the cat and it would spit out how much of each sort of food included in the diet should be available in a day.

Can you just feed by how many calories each cat is supposed to get daily based on body weight? The general suggestion is 20 to 25 calories per pound of body weight daily. Kittens are just fed as much as they want since they need tons of food for growth.

A calculator that says to feed X amount of canned and Y amount of dry daily may not be enough. Food varies a lot in calories so one could be underfeeding or overfeeding a cat.

I did find one of those links that was pretty close to what I remember, which seems like a good benchmark for 'is this enough', I'm not worried about it being too much. Funny thing is the boys have been indoor cats for only a month and are already getting a bit picky about format (they don't like flaked, but do like pate; have not tried cuts or other variations).
