It tastes like strong coffee to me!!! I guess I do not have a good palate....HA!!
Lol, yeah, I can never taste the "notes" that coffee and wine supposedly have. It tastes like coffee/wine to me! Don't try to tell me it has "raspberry notes" or whatever.

Today I had some bottled Starbucks iced coffee. It came in a 2-pack of Caramel Macchiato and Peppermint Mocha, and I mixed them together and added a little half & half. I try not to drink the bottled stuff because of all the sugar but gotta splurge sometimes.

Big Body, Candied fruit, dark chelate and Indonesian spice".."Double Chocolate, Extra fragrant, u;trq plush. Two Guatemala coffees---one with fruit forward, one chocolate back----and washed and natural Ethiopian, and a sumptuous spice-laden Sumatra
Wow, that sounds fancy! Too bad you couldn't taste all those fabulous notes.

That sounds kinda fancy too! 👍

I had a peppermint hot chocolate today :yummy: It's a seasonal specialty at the chocolate cafe. I was originally going to get the single source chocolate of the month, Venezuelan chocolate, but saw that the peppermint one was available so got that instead.

While going out for Small Business Saturday we stopped at our favorite local roaster and I got a 12 oz. Flat White. It was so much better than Starbucks and, best of all, because we've been going there weekly they gave it to me for free. The barista said it was her treat! Just one of the perks supporting an independent business where they get to know you. Of course I left a big tip.

You have to leave a tip for coffee? I never have, but we have only gone to Sunoco, McDonalds, Dunkin, Tim Hortons.
I have found it's more customary at the privately owned independent cafes/coffee shops. They used to have a tip jar near the register. However, since Covid many shops no longer accept cash and have plexiglass in front of the cashier and baristas. You have to pay with a credit card or use contactless payment so you don't hand anything over to the cashier but at the end of your transaction it asks if you would like to leave a tip.

Started my morning off with my dark roast coffee. I'm sure I'll need an afternoon pick-me-up later in the day.

dug out a seasonal mug.
I don't have anything seasonal cause we never celebrated. It will be interesting to see what will happen if I ever get married. Will I celebrate or not?

My cappuccino at Sunoco is only a little over $1. I don't think they accept tips there, it's just a gas station where you serve yourself. I don't know if they let you serve yourself now with Corona.

Opened a new bag of coffee- McDonalds McCafe Columbian! I really like it. It's a medium-dark roast.
Finished up my Coffee Mate vanilla cinnamon creamer.

Yeah, to earn a tip they have to make you something or bring you something, lol. A gas station doesn't count! And they aren't allowed to take tips at McDonald's either. But if you go to Starbucks or a privately owned coffee shop, it's nice to leave a tip, around 10% usually. I generally throw my change in the cup or round it up to the next dollar if I pay with a card.

Dunkin might have a tip jar/line but I'm sure they don't expect it.

I splurged and ordered some 100% Kona and Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee pods from SF Bay Coffee, and they arrived today. We typically have two cups of coffee every morning, one when we get up at 5:30 and the other when we get back from our daily walk at about 9. I think we'll try the Kona first (although I'm not sure how discerning my taste buds are at 5:30 in the morning ) and the JBM for our second cup.

All those "notes" are wasted on me, too. Occasionally I put vanilla or caramel-flavored sugar in coffee, and we got some excellent hazlenut coffee as a gift, but I don't bother with special blends. There are 5 or 6 brands of arabica and/or robusta we generally like, and hubby buys whichever of them is on sale. As long as it's hot, strong, and doesn't taste burnt, I'll enjoy it.

It's the same with tea. Just about any kind of "black" or oolong is fine.
