Is anyone else suffering from quarantine acne?
Yup. I mean...I've had acne of some sort since I was 9 (I'm 32 now), but last year I finally started getting regular facials/treatments. I was just starting to get ahead and could see my skin actually improving...then COVID hit and I'm wearing a mask 13+ hours a day...The worst is right above and below where the mask sits against the skin. We use disposable masks here, so I wear a new one everyday but ugh...this summer was ROUGH. Now that the humidity has gone away, my skin is calming down a bit. I also haven't been wearing make up the past 9ish months. I'm planning to get a special treatment over Christmas break. It would be nice to come out from under the mask next year (hopefully) with a totally new face haha
Until then, I do sort of enjoy masking my weakish chin and acne scars around my mouth and jaw under the mask. I feel like I'm one of those people who got hotter.

Look at this odd item. Potato Salad in a can! I never heard of that before. I might buy it just to see what it's like:

Check the ingredients! German potato salad is usually made with bacon.

As for being canned, it sounds unappetizing but who knows. It's not mayonnaise-based like American potato salad so it could be ok.

German potato salad is different than American potato salad. I’ve had it from a can and its ok. I like vinegary things a lot though so that may help. lol

Yes! It has bacon in it. Thank you so much for telling me. I probably would have just eaten it without looking, since I didn't know they ever put meat in it.

No mayo?! Sounds terrible.

I had German Potato salad once. After I ate it I read the ingredients and the dressing had bacon
drippings. Being vegetarian you have to always check the ingrediends.

Yes! I usually check the ingredients, but for potato salad, I just didn't think they would add meat, so I put it in my cart without checking. Good save you guys! I just checked my Amish Macaroni Salad to make sure it didn't have any meat in it. I mean if the Germans use meat, maybe the Amish do too.

Cooper came, got into a fight with Treasure while I was outside getting rid of garbage. Then he turned on me, viciously attacked me. Sitting in waiting room of ER now as I may require stitches. Happy Thanksgiving to me I said last week that Cooper now hates me but no one believed me. Guess today just shows that I was 100% correct. And sorry when I get home I'm finding someone else to take this over. And packing up all the cat stuff. That's all the cats going to be moved to one of the nearby colonies. I'm not doing this anymore. I can't keep getting injured when I have crazy woman in here to care for and obviously the cats don't even appreciate any of this. I'm just a source of food for them and that's it. I never ever should have started. Cats would be better off elsewhere anyway. Breaks my heart but it is what it is I guess. So whoever came up with the myth of bond between cat and human was severely wrong as today just proved it. :(

Yes! It's kind of comforting to know that I'm not the only one. Maybe everybody is just stressed out? I sure wish they would make more of an effort though. I really need them right now.

That explains it then. I thought it was just me, but everybody couldn't be mad at me at the same time! I tried every subject, but nobody seems to want to chat. Makes me not even want to go on Facebook, I come here instead.
I've noticed people are responding less, too, and believe it is overwhelm and stress. Definitely not just you. Heck, I even had a month or two I pulled back from everyone and didn't reach out. I'm glad you are coming here. It's nice that there are many people here, so even if there are some who need a break or pull back there are others still active.

I guess things generally suck for most people these days, but I also think it's fine to feel sorry for yourself once in a while.

Did he used to be feral? I can't remember...My cats still act like that. I haven't been able to train it out of them yet. So we have to be extra careful and watch their claws/knives.

Cooper was not a feral cat. He was a housepet at one time. Not sure what happened to him or how he wound up here. I had him neutered a year ago when an owner did not claim him. He was always a aggressive around food though but never as aggressive as he has become the past several months. He disappeared in March, came back briefly (2 days) in August and then disappeared again last Friday. Showed up 2nd time today and started the fight with Treasure. I just happened to be outside at the time he came onto the property and started in. Each time he disappears and then comes back his aggression is worse. No one has been taking him in, I think he goes to one of the other 10 colonies in this 16 block radius. So I have no idea what happens since no one here tells me what they see.

Either way the cats are now gone. I'm sitting here with stitches in my hand, unable to do a thing to even help my very ill and elderly mother. It's hurting to type this even. The cat stuff was picked up by the police who knows the location of the other colonies. This has to stop. I can't do this anymore. I just can't. I love these cats dearly but I never read about other caretakers having this sort of thing happening. Going back to a nice quiet existence, although very lonely one. :(

Oh no. What are the police going to do? Will they euthanize the cats?
The cats are 3 blocks away at another colony. Sorry I thought I made it clear that the cats were handed over to another colony caretaker. Only the police here know where the other caretakers are. Here in my village we are not to disclose our location except to the police for the protection of the cats. The police were involved in the TNR of 100 cats 3 years ago which is where all of these colonies came from.

It's also not a police officers job to euthanize or otherwise. If the police did their job they would have reported the breeding and hoarding of these cats 5 years ago. This isn't the sticks. Houses are like 15 yards apart. So I find it very unlikely no one noticed 100 cats going in and out of a 2 room house that was left open constantly. Township didn't get involved until the cats were digging through commercial dumpsters and paid the $45 TNR fee for each one and made sure they were all released back into the area.

My DD wants to redo her room so I’m trying to come up with some ideas to update the colors on the cheaper side. (For her next birthday.) She has a really warm, cozy comforter right now. Her room is mostly a muted raspberry pink and brown with some greens. She wants purple, blue and pink with some mermaids. She got “that look” in her eyes at a craft fair last year when she saw this pretty purple and white mermaid wall hanging. I could tell she was in love but didn’t want to ask for it. So I snuck back and got it. It just doesn’t match her room right now. (Her nursery colors.)

So I’m thinking the biggest impact would be finding a duvet cover, window curtain and painting just the brown wainscoting in her room. It would brighten it too. My problem is choosing a more neutral color that goes with the pink. DH painted a cool tone on tone harlequin pattern on one pink wall and wide stripes on the other. That’s why the pink is staying! I’m up for a challenge I guess!
