t feels so good! Everyone should do this. Try it BJ!
Actually brushing is good. Brushing takes away the loose hair ad especially after they wake up from sleep or naps. That's where all the loose hair appears after rolling over the bed.

I brush my boy several times a day and especially after his sleep or naps and use a sticky roller to roll over where he sleeps to pick up all the loose hair and after that I use a fine tooth comb to take away all the hair on the brush so that he has a more hair free brush the next time I brush him.

I love brushing them. Most of the kitties enjoy it but BJ usually tries to bite the brush or swat it away. Lol I think Smokey has shown him that the girls like a well groomed fellow. BJ is kind of funny about things like toys. No interest, but when it comes to attracting the ladies, he will do whatever they like! He is a bit of a ladies cat. Dandy. Funny that he loves a hat or tie but just now accepted the brush.:dunno: Kitties! Whatever it takes to get the girls!

Dolly is just the opposite. He doesn’t care about getting girls but if the brush is around, he grabs it if you try to STOP brushing! Lol

Awww brushing is Ziggy's favorite thing. I brush her at least once per day. If I stop and put the brush down she will rub her cheek on the brush then look at me, then look at the brush, then me with eyes "hey keep brushing!" Sometimes if I pet her and the brush is near she will bat my hand and go over to the brush and look at me. She's the brushingest cat!
And that's how I got Waffles won over for me to pet him too. He was terrified, but with a brush on a stick I had a gateway for petting him, and it was all over- he became the lovebug that was waiting inside.

Yea, if I brush too January too long, he'll flip over and start biting the brush. That's why I always clear the hair on the brush each time I brush him else all the hair will go back into his mouth and few days later I'll see hairball

Isn't Precious a Bengal too? :headscratch:

What was amazing is the time that pit bull lunged at me and almost took my arm off. But I instinctively pulled my arm back, pointed to his yard, and told him to get back. I don't know where I got that from. But it worked! I try to think of solutions now, rather than quaking in fear, if you know what I mean... ;)

It is the cutest thing ever! He goes backwards upside down, just like the moonwalk. I never saw anything like it. :vancat:😍
I had an incident about 4 or 5 years ago when I was walking around my neighborhood. Someone's Mastiff got out of the yard and was running towards at me full force. I watch a lot of Ceasar Milan (The Dog Whisperer) and funny enough I heard his voice in my head saying to watch my energy level, dogs read into emotions and energy. I calmly stood there and the Mastiff came right up to me and started sniffing me and pressed his nose into my hand, but didn't bite. The owner nearly had a heart attack. The dog went back to her and she apologized profusely over the incident. I told her not to worry, he didn't do a thing to me. No harm, no foul.

I like dogs and hope to have a few some day. I am partial to the Husky and Malmute breeds, but don't think I will ever own them because of my kitties. I would love to have a multi pet household.🐶🐱💕💕💕

Jcatbird Jcatbird Oh my goodness, again with the facial expressions! I'm convinced your cats make these expressions on purpose just to get some attention :lol2:

Whenallhellbreakslose Whenallhellbreakslose that's so awesome! Dogs are very sweet, and I do hope that one day you can own some! We got our dog after we had owned my cat, Bella, for a while, when she was an older cat, and although they weren't best friends, they got along fairly well. Willow (our kitten whom we got after owning our dog for a while) is best friends with him, and they play and eat and cuddle together. I think the age of the cat certainly contributes to how well they adapt :winkcat:

Yes, I agree with you about the age factor. Older animals are less adaptable to change, so things are more difficult when you bring a new family member into the house. All and all, I would definitely own dogs in the future. I just have to work through the challenges.

pearl99 pearl99 I love using a brush as a socializing tool too. It’s a good way to introduce touch without actually touching with a hand. It feels good as a miniature rubbing, scent marking/massage post to new kitties. It also helps with scent swapping. Dolly talks up a storm while being brushed. Dolly and Ziggurat have a love for brushing in common! Never stop hooman! Lol
That is a Live Oak with Spanish moss. I love those trees. There is a very ancient one in a subdivision that is highly protected. It has a whole neighborhood watching over it. The trunk is so big it would take several people to reach around it. It’s estimated to be 300 to 400 years old.

The kitties take turns in groups on the two sofas. It’s kind of neat to watch different ones snuggling up to others. The sofa seems to be neutral territory.

lets you know when brushing is finished. Lol Don’t eat it January. No nutritional value.
Smokey always has to see the fur I take out of the brush! She does an inventory of how much she has shed? She examines it but doesn’ t lick it. I think she knows that long fur makes long fur balls!

@WhenallhellbreaksloseMastiffs are intimidating just because of size! That was scary. Blue was part mastiff and just a giant sweetie but once someone came over the fence at night and Blue caught them, apparently siphoning has from Sarah’s handicap van. Blue returned the favor by stealing the back pocket off their jeans and bringing it , proudly, to mom. I didn’t hear any yelling, just someone vaulting the metal fence. Lol They got lucky. He could have taken what was in the pocket but apparently he just gave them a warning. I had a Malamute a long time ago. She was beautiful. A rescue. I find it works best if you raise a puppy with your kitties. That way they understand to respect the cats. I have had a variety of creatures live together in harmony but it does take work in some cases. Introductions must be done carefully and breed blending kept in mind.

BellaGooch BellaGooch Most of the kitties have admitted to hamming it up to get on TCS. Banjo claims she just does it to help me out ( secretly I think she did it to start her modeling career! Lol) and BJ says he is doing it to meet girls. Whistle claims he really didn’t know I was putting his pictures online. He says it’s okay but he is concerned that something with big ears will find him here. The Bengal Boys told Whistle not to worry. They will be guarding the doors. Mackie does it just for laughs. Lol They all have their reasons but they all agree on one thing, they love being here with everyone. They appreciated that you noticed them! And gave them your attention! Lol Smart kitties!

Lol 😂 Good ol boy Blue taught that thief a lesson. Siphoning from a handicap van???!!! Shame on him!!! Yes, I was thinking I would adopt puppies so that they grow use to the cats. However, if I find a mild mannered dog(s) who shows no aggression toward cats I would definitely adopt him/her. I like to give the older ones a chance if possible. I hate going to a shelter and leaving it. Their is a part of me that wants to bust every animal out. I have given in the past cases of cat and dog food to a no kill that were struggling. I wish every animal finds their furever home. It breaks my heart seeing homeless animals in shelters and on the street. That is why I take care of the street kitties. They have a piece of my heart.❤😺😺😺

For our smiles tonight, the cats had something to say about me mentioning the camera hogs. Although some didn’t mind being unmentioned, It seems that a few felt left out of my list.
Cat thoughts? Lol
Hey! Mom didn’t mention us Muffin!

He doesn’t stay with the others though. He stays where I can watch him all the time since he has anxiety issues
Does he have his own room, like Mackie? You must have a lot of bedrooms.

I always say that we need to trust our instincts. I’m glad you did.
Well I don't always do so, as you well know. Remember Australia....😲

Smells a little like me and some nice ladies!
Oh Casanova Kitty.... :nono:

Whistle claims he really didn’t know I was putting his pictures online.
Tell Whistle to do what I do, only post headless selfies. Keep your privacy & keep them guessing.

Mom didn’t mention us Muffin!
You always gotta mention the Muffin! We need the rainbow. 🌈

pearl99 pearl99 Muffin and Bonjure are very excited now! Lol They think the “got all the attention!” Lol

M maggiedemi The Bengal boys have their own room. It’s actually one of the largest. Precious is out in the main flow of the house. He can retreat to any of the big cages if he wants or to the laundry room. He loves getting on top of the dryer for naps. Mama is the only cat that really just wants humans. I have five bedrooms. The cat room started out as a porch but was enclosed for a bedroom and my studio. Then converted again as a cat room. The Bengal room was a bedroom /living area for an elderly friend I was caring for until he was able to move into assisted living. Then it was given to the Bengal boys. All the cats have shifted around a bit but Mackie is the only one really restricted. I do clear the main living room or the cat room at times to let him enjoy being out. That means the main Clowder must be cut off from him. Poor Mackie. He doesn’t seem to mind though.

Actually, your instincts about Australia did work. You made the right decision!

Oh BJ is truly a Cassanova. He is finally winning over Smokey. He still can’t win Lady though. Maybe in time but she still gives him a swat if he gets fresh with her. Lol

Muffin would like to send you some rainbow vibes!

Whistle has been trying to keep his identity safe from big ears.

He was going to try putting BJ’s hat over his face but then..... big ears found him!
B619B6E3-884C-4150-8AC5-6ED7D9F300F0.jpeg

He has such a good sister though. Banjo has promised to protect him as she always has before.

We won’t tell Whistle that Banjo wasn’t thinking about his fear of ears when she pulled the rabbit out of the hat. Shhhhhh. 🤫

Hmmm....sounds familiar. ;)

Good point! I never thought about it that way. I need to listen to my inner voice more often. I'm usually like- Shut up! 🤣

He still can’t win Lady though.
Well us Ladies gotta be careful. We want to be #1 Favorite. We don't want Casanova to be singing about his love for 20
other girls. 😉

Muffin would like to send you some rainbow vibes!
Thanks Muffin Honey! I mean Muffin Blueberry. I got them. Hope they work. :crossfingers:

Added a few things:
Hee hee. That's hilarious. Will BJ ever find love? sounds like a good soap opera. As The Kitty Turns. Days of Our Cats. Another Cat. General Cat. The Young and the Catless. Did I miss any?

Actually, when reared with cats, Huskies and Malamutes do very well. They don't have nearly as high a prey drive as the terrier breeds. They do, however, require LONG walks, at least twice a day. We're talking 5 miles twice a day, ideally.

BellaGooch BellaGooch That is so funny! All the kitties want to respond to that! Lots of excitement brewing here. We’ll have to start with one but the kitties may make me do some follow ups to that! I love it! I bet that took some time to do! Thank you for the great laughs! Still giggling! I would like to frame that! We’ll start the responses with our nightly smile post. I’d like to see everyone post a Catsite addition to the magazine cover! Miss Eleanor, Ruby, Hekitty, Ziggy, January, Gypsy, an outdoor addition of other kitties, all kitties! Kitty poses for the cover! :flail:This could be so much fun!

M maggiedemi I think you and Lady can relate! Maybe you need to try out the guest suite and share stories with her.;)

You have good instincts. Maggie and Demi know that.

Muffin is a big sweet blueberry! She hopes the vibes work.

Now it’s my turn to do a face plant! I live “Days of our Cats!” :flail:
“As the cat turns!”
That must be about Prints.

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 The Malamutes are wonderful dogs! They are amazing and very nurturing. If Whenallhellbreakslose Whenallhellbreakslose can rescue one of those, although they do need a lot of exercise, they are beautiful creatures and have been very good to humans.
