Wow, food is getting so expensive. I remember in the 90s when I never paid over $5 for a meal. Now omelets are $10!Looks like it starts at $10.47.
I never heard of blue potatoes! Are they actually blue?blue potatoes
The oil is fine of course, but regular hummus with garlic would taste weird if you used sweetened nut butter! Some people do make sweet hummus. . .but I've never had it so I can't say if it's good or not. I think it could be pretty good though. Chickpeas are versatile.I have a billion nut butters, but all have sugar & oil, cause that's the type I like.
I call it an egg burger, if I use a hamburg bun. Last night, it ended up just being a fried egg sandwich, as instead of the burger bun, I just used bread. The gardein turk'y is pretty good. I bought another one for Christmas. Hmmm... must check the store for red french dressing,What is an egg burger? Like an egg mcmuffin? That gardein vegetarian turkey looks good! Red french dressing is better though.
I don't eat hummus a lot, but I'll put on Triscuits. Other times I make a sandwich using it and veggies. How do you eat hummus? Crackers, bread?
I think I used to eat hummus with Wheat Thins. I don't remember. Using it in a sandwich and veggies sounds good.I call it an egg burger, if I use a hamburg bun. I can still find meals for $5 sometimes, but they are usually a sammich, half a sub, or slice of pizza.
The Sam's Club brand is really good, if someone has a Sam's membership. I haven't checked to see if there's a comparable Walmart brand (usually there is, just a bit more expensive). Trader Joe's hummus is good, usually Aldi has a similar brand. There's a brand that spells it Hommus and has Arabic writing on it but I can't remember the actual brand name, that one is really good. Homemade of course is great. Sabra has too. . .harsh? of a flavor, or something, I don't know how to explain it. It just doesn't have that mellow taste I prefer. You said you did not care for Sabra. What kind do you like when you buy it from the store?
Yes, the Sabra did have a harsh taste. I would also like a more mellow taste. My brother belongs to Costco. Their products are usually prețty good. I will ask him to get me some hummus from Costco and Wegmans to see which one I like the best. The Sam's Club brand is really good, if someone has a Sam's membership. I usually eat it with crackers/chips or naan bread.
Aldi calls it California French, Ken's calls it Country French. You'll notice it on the shelf cause it's red!must check the store for red french dressing,
Gah! I hate Triscuits. Worst cracker ever.I don't eat hummus a lot, but I'll put on Triscuits.
I love Wheat Thins! I'll have to try them with hummus. The store brand Wheat Thin knockoffs taste nothing like the original. Blah.I think I used to eat hummus with Wheat Thins.
Hands down, my favorite brand of hummus is the Whole Foods 365 brand. I have a few favorite items I buy at W.F. and this is one of them. I get the roasted red pepper hummus and it's only $3.00.I used to buy the Sabra brand with either garlic or red peppers. What kind do you like when you buy it from the store? How do you eat hummus? Crackers, bread?
Lol! I like their flavor but wow, they're crumbly. That's what I don't like about them.Gah! I hate Triscuits. Worst cracker ever.
