I’m glad your sister has had her baby. I would tell her that the baby is my Anniversary gift. My youngest cousin / youngest grandchild was born the day before my birthday. I claimed her as my gift and it ended up forming a nice bond between us. From now on you can ask how your little gift is doing. A younger child will be “ the baby.” ;) Exciting but the focus now is on Bebe arrival! Yay! :yess: I see both kitties in that shot. Lol They are becoming a part of the routine and already understand that something new has been going on. ;)
I’m glad you didn’t get sick and now have that behind you. Looking forward! Since you are pretty much eating most of your size comparisons, I would not have chosen Cauliflower either. The bread.... yes! Yummy! You look awesome!

Bebe is the size of 3 chocolate croissants, a cauliflower blossom, a junior tennis racquet, a ferret, and two naan breads.
Yum. I have been meaning to try croissants & naan bread. Thanks for the reminder Bebe.
I love cauliflower, you should see all the foods they make for vegetarians with it. Even cauliflower hot wings!
Glad you don't have the Corona!

I don't know how much I'm actually going to talk to her going forward, tbh, though I did send her a card. Our relationship is still kind of shaky and I doubt we'll ever be close.

I actually rather like cauliflower, especially roasted. I'll make stuff with cauliflower rice, though I think regular rice is better.

I have a similar family relationship with my step sister. Although we had little contact when we were younger and had families to raise, as we have gotten older, things have improved greatly. The kids are a grown and we , older folks have begun to see each other in a different light. It helps. We may never be each other’s confidant but we went shopping together recently and it was nice and kind of funny. She is not outdoorsy AT ALL but I convinced her to get a pair of hiking boots like the ones I was getting. She has a place in the mountains and can actually use them. It was pretty funny to see her sporting hiking boots instead of heels. I hope she can walk in them! I do get what you mean. Sometimes it’s better to put things on hold or at a distance. If it helps any, it worked well for us.
Besides, You will be enjoying your life with Bebe. You have a future filled with a love like no other! I am so excited for you! I am really looking forward to EVERYTHING! You have been so generous to allow us all to follow from the day you got the engagement ring, had the planning of the wedding, got married and now, Bebe! Dear Bebe!

Hmmm! Cauliflower rice? I might like that! Just cut up and boiled with the rice?

Congrats to your sister but I'm sorry things are a bit shaky between the two of you. Since Bebe will have a cousin close in age maybe the two babies/children will bring your sis and you closer together. :crossfingers:

So glad to hear you feel better, probably just a mild cold. Pamper yourself and focus on the upcoming weeks. :hugs:

No, you actually put the cauliflower through a ricer and eat that like rice. It's for low-carb diets, kind of the latest thing. I haven't tried it but I generally don't like cauliflower so idk. I do want to try the cauliflower hot "wings" though. With hot wing sauce maybe you can't taste the cauliflower-ness :D.

Jcatbird Jcatbird Thank you! You're so sweet and I really appreciate it.

No, the cauliflower is the rice! It's supposed to be a low carb alternative in some of my recipes, so you can either just put it in a food processor to make it and then cook it on the stove, or if you're lazy like me, buy it already processed from the store. I guess since it doesn't have that much flavor the idea is just the texture of rice.

:yeah:

Yes, thank you for sharing your last 18 months or so with all of us. :heartshape:

About your relationship with your sister, you can't make it right between you all on your own. She'd have to want to, as well. But I hope once Bebe arrives, that in time things improve between you new moms, so you have each other for support, and so the cousins can be friends. My parents weren't very close with their siblings, so my cousins are basically strangers to me, with some I don't know at all, and that's something I've always wished was different.

My mom always lamented how she's not close to her own sister and hoped we'd have better relationships as adults, but I'm not sure we were set up for that to happen. I do think my parents tried and meant well, but it still wasn't a recipe for success.

We'll see. With the pandemic and not seeing each other in person, things wouldn't change in the near future anyway. Who knows what might happen in a post pandemic world.

Walmart has cauliflower hot wings and bbq wings. I'm going to get them soon.

I’ll have to look for the processed cauliflower. I am curious now! I have some dietary restrictions so that might be something really great for me!
Yes, it's in the frozen section. We have some, it's really good. We made a gluten free egg veggie quiche with it and it kinda tasted like hash! I put ketchup on it!

I get mine in the produce section if you want it fresh rather than frozen! (I didn't actually make the connection that it might be in the frozen section - I'll look there next time!)

Fresh might taste different but frozen might be cut to rice size already. Lol As a one human household, frozen allows for easier portioning and no waste for me too. I may try both!
The fresh I get is already cut to rice sized, but it wouldn't last as long as frozen if I didn't use the whole package at once.

We did maternity photos today with our wedding photographer! We did them outdoors, so hopefully it was safe enough. So no kitties in the pictures this time around.

It's such a weird time, but this was something I really wanted to do, so I'm glad it worked out.

I’m glad you got to do them! My cousin just did an outdoor first birthday shoot for her son. They did six month ones that way too. The photographer had props and things so you’ll never know it was outside because of covid. Those are really special memories to have.

34 weeks

Bebe is the size of a baguette bâtard, a savoy cabbage, a basketball hoop, a quokka, and this bag of cereal. Bebe should be between 4.7 and 5lbs now. And if Bebe were to be born today, they would have graduated from moderately preterm to late preterm.

I'm just tired. And my belly is getting in the way. Good times, I guess.

Yummy! I'll have to try a baguette, I never had one. Cabbage is always good, and you know I love my cereal, but it's gotta be granola. Awww, Bebe is gonna be as cute as that quokka wallaby I bet. 😍

5 pounds is pretty big! I only weighed 6 pounds when I was born. Now I'm tall as a skyscraper.

Sorry you're feeling tired, but you're almost there! :hugs:
