Awwwwhhhhh, that is so sweet. Thank you for sharing. I believe that our pets pick us, but we believe it is the other way around.

Kittens are so much fun. They are comedy gold! You will never have a dull moment around them. Congrats on Lemon and Mochi becoming a part of your family. I hope Cupid comes back and becomes their big brother.😺😸😺

Wishing you all the best.😊
That’s probably the case. They’re gonna be so loved.

I wanted to ask the people at the shelter about a humane trap for Cupid, but my Mom said no, with her excuse being “He’s not the kind of cat we’d need to trap, if he was near, he’d come back.” Any ideas on how I can convince her? I’m going to try everything. I’m also just very worried about Cupid after we adopted Lemon and Mochi.

I don’t want anyone to paint a perfect world when I ask this, be honest with me here.

How likely do you think it is that Cupid is still out there and ok?
How likely do you think it is that someone else mistook him for a stray and took him in?

Him getting killed by something bigger is completely off the table. Our neighborhood has had many a coyote sighting over the past few years, and Cupid was outside during that time and returned perfectly fine every time.

I just need to get him home ASAP. I owe him so much and I’m doing as much as a 14 year old whose main focus has to be on school can do.

Throwing this out there as I care for feral cats. I've had several disappear and stroll back 5 to 6 months later like nothing has happened and wondering why all the fuss about me seeing them again. I've also had some disappear and not return but I found out that there are several feral colonies in my immediate area (like a block or two away) that my missing Shaman may be at. Maybe there are some feral colonies in your area that Cupid took up with? I don't think it has anything to do with love or bond or anything but cats tend to be loners anyway and even though the two here are buddies, they spend most of their time away from each other. Just wanting to offer some encouragement here by sharing about my situation. Check to see if there are some feral colonies in your area. You probably won't be given an exact location for the cats' protection but at least you may have some idea.

You know, that actually kinda would make sense. Can you tell me more about these colonies?

Have you checked with TNR groups and Animal Rescues who go out all the time trapping and rescuing/tnring kittens and cats? BTW, TNR stands for (Trap, Neuter, and Release). Those people have traps and may loan you out a trap.

Don't give up, I have a colony cat that fell off the earth when her BFF got sick and died recently. She got stressed out and sick and wandered off. She was showing up for feedings one day out of the week, then she stopped. She just started resurfacing again. I seen here just yesterday a few blocks away. TG, she looked fine. Someone is definitely feeding her. She is a semi-feral who is just a little bit friendly. It is more than possible that someone is feeding Cupid as a stray or took him in.

As an outdoor feeder, I have seen cats go missing for months on end, then comeback. Have you checked around to see if their any feeders in your area. Maybe an older person is feeding who overlooked your posters and is not online so didn't see your Pawboost poster. Their are people who are out of the loop believe it or not.

Their are dangers out there which I won't get into, but from my experience it is not uncommon for cats to wander away and come back. I really hope Cupid will come back soon.:heartshape::lovecat::lovecat::lovecat:

I’ve never heard of TNR groups but Cupid was neutered when we got him so I don’t think they would’ve got him. I’ll check just to be sure though. By Animal Rescues, do you mean shelters or something else?

So if Cupid has run off with a feral colony, how can I get him back home? Like I understand wanting to go off with the bois, I do it all the time, but I do need him home. If someone took him in, how can I get him back from them? Not assuming malicious intent of course, but still.

I’ll check for feeders. I’m also making a physical poster to put up places for those who aren’t really in on technology. I believe there are people out of the loop with it, my Nana is one of them. She still uses a flip phone that thinks it’s the year 1989 for some reason.

Do you really think Cupid is still out there? I still have faith but when we adopted the kittens that’s when reality started to seep in. If the answer is I don’t know, that’s ok. If yes, how long do you think it’ll be until he comes home? I’m missing him deeply.

Well, to answer your question about Cupid. I don't know if he is still out there, but I would cover all bases and if he doesn't come back, know in your heart that you did everything you could to find him. Put some more posters up and ask the neighbors and see if there are a few local feeders in the area. I have had cats come into my group and stay for awhile and then leave. I keep an eye on all the missing pet posters and if a new cat comes into the group I check against these posters.

TNR groups put out traps for stray and feral cats. They then take the trapped kitties to a clinic to get spayed or neutered and get their core shots, and they release them the next day usually. At times if they find a friendly cat, they take them off the streets. Usually, they have a network of Fosters who will foster the cats until they find homes. Rescue groups could have a shelter you can visit or they operate with a network of Fosters as well. You may want to do a search online and see who you local tnr and rescue groups are. They are suppose to be getting the word out if they found a cat they think belongs to someone. They are suppose to take to a vet to check for a microchip. Anyway, I would still check with them.

Tell your parents that you want to contact these groups as a last ditch effort to find Cupid. I think your parents want you to move on now that you have Lemon and Mochi in your life, but insist that you must give this a try.

Well, I wish you all the best. Goodnite.🙂

Is it possible that someone saw him and took him inside? Like someone said not everyone is in the loop or can even get outside (like the man who started feeding all these cats here a few years before he passed). Maybe Cupid has an inside home. I keep telling myself that is what may have happened to Shaman and that as much as I love and miss her she is better off if inside then outside. Here in St Louis now if a cat is TNRd they are also now microchipped. They started that January 2019 which was after these cats were. But if you have NextDoor, try starting a group on there for local Feral Cat Colony Caretakers. They won't give their exact location but may join and say "Oh yea, I've seen him" Follow every lead, even if false. They may be more colonies then you think. Your mail carrier is a good source. If you have a friendly police officer in the area that may help. The police and my village took care of the TNR in my neighborhood though so I ask them for updates. Check your local shelters. As mentioned above, check with children, but be careful which children. We have some that hit animals with sticks so I wouldn't dare as them. For the most part I have found that strays, ferals can run pretty fast and get away from harm. I have one feral that can run from Missouri to Washington DC in 10 seconds lol

Don't give up ever. Cupid may wander in at some point as if nothing happened. Like my Cooper did.

And sadly if someone gave him a home and he's happy you may have no choice but to let go. I know you love him but maybe someone who is extremely ill is finding comfort in his presence. I had to reluctantly let go of Cooper as he had a collar on and was maybe giving comfort to someone who needed him. It's hard, I know. I miss Shaman every second of every day going past 7 months now but I take comfort in knowing that no one reported a cat in distress, no one really saw her and that there are so many colonies here that she knows all the other cats. So as much as I love her and miss her if she has a home and out of the cold winter and away from other elements then I have to let go of that, even though she was born a feral.

I just talked to my Mom about Cupid and she told me what she thought happened, which based on what I’ve seen here, is possible but not likely. She thinks Cupid either went after something too big for him, or got hurt in some way. Me and my sister do not think that at all. I want honest thoughts here. What do you guys think? If the answer is I don’t know that’s alright.

Honestly, I don't know. I have had a happy ending with my kitty and I heard of other cases where it looked like their cat was gone for good, but the cat returned to them after being away for awhile. You never know, maybe Cupid will return one day. If he doesn't, you will need to deal with it as best as you can and move on.

I would like to advise you to not let Lemon and Mochi outdoors because the outdoors is not completely safe. I don't know if you live in a house, but their are enclosures called Catios and they come in all sort of sizes. It is a safe way for cats to be outdoors.

I will visit Lemon and Mochi's thread. You can get good advice on this forum about all things cats and kittens. I wish you much happiness with the new additions to your family.

Have a good nite 🙂

Honestly? If he had been an indoor cat who got out for the first time, I'd be saying something very different and far more comforting right now. But he is not. He's a street-wise boy who knows the neighborhood. It's entirely possible, and probable, that he is fine, and may well be living in someone else's house (OH! Poor beautiful stray cat! I've wanted a cat like you for so long, and here you are!). Especially if he went off on a ramble, and they saw him around their home for a few days. That's what I honestly think is the most likely scenario.

Alright. If that’s the case, is there any way I could get him back?

Hey everyone, sorry for not posting on this in almost 2 weeks. I’ve just been having a lot of fun getting to know Lemon and Mochi. They’re doing great. Best buddies. Love each other. But as much fun as they are, and no offense to them, I really miss Cupid.

I’m trying my hardest to keep hope alive but it’s getting real hard. Send some good vibes my way please.
