I was raking up more leaves, and cutting back some perennials, and when I stood up, I must have twisted my lower back, because OUCH. :mad2:

I've taken an ibuprofen, and been applying an ice pack, and it sometimes feels better, and other times not so much. I expect tomorrow morning will be bad getting out of bed, but hopefully it won't hurt as long as it did 2 years ago. Guess no power walks for a bit though. :sigh:
Oh, ouch! Maybe a hot bath before bedtime will help some. And make your ibruprofen a double dose. You can safely double dose for a few days and the extra really makes a difference.

I hate taking ibuprofen, so probably won't double the dose, but will take the normal dose for a couple days and hopefully it will get better fast.

Has anyone here tried that Noom program online? I want to lose weight, but my motivation level is just not there. I heard they have coaching and use different applications for weightloss and achieving healthy habits. I like to know has anyone tried it and had any level of success? It is suppose to be geared towards lifestyle change over the usually weightloss program. It sounds interesting.

I never lost any weight until I went vegetarian last year. Then the weight just flew off! Went from 180 pounds to underweight. It's weird though, I still have flab on my butt and thighs. Wish I could tighten that up somehow, it looks terrible. Any ideas?

Just taking my usual 2 hour walk indoors every day. Doubt I'll go back outside until April. I'm hibernating.

I don't know for sure how to get rid of post weightloss flab, but when I lost weight in the past I used muliti-collagan powder in my drinks and I used Jergens Collagan and Elastin body cream. It helped. Also, I was told years ago to never lose weight too fast or their will be problems with flab.

I just browse the web for some helpful article. Here it is. Hope it helps.

Thanks. I might try the massage idea on that list. I'm supposed to be massaging my sore leg anyway. I have one of those massagers that heats up.

Just my 2 hour walk indoors again today.
Glad you found the article helpful. Walking is good all around as exercise. I am one of those people who walks fast and I could walk for miles. This is my saving grace.

Good for you walking two hours. I hope it was a nature walk. I am always inspired by nature. :walk::cloud9: 💕💕💕

Went for a bike ride last night, probably should've worn a windbreaker as it was about 4 degrees celcius (39F), but I'm glad I did it. I like bike riding so much more than jogging. I like the feeling of actually going somewhere, and I don't have to put on as much "special gear" (Don't even have to put on a sports bra!) and now that it's colder, the bike paths are a lot emptier. I only passed maybe 5 people and was only passed by 2 or 3. Still had to aggressively ring my bell at a few couples who thought the bike path was a strolling path (there is a separated walking path). Seoul has bike paths that span the entire river front on both sides. It's amazing. The air was clear last night, too. I went 16km (8 out and back) in just under an hour. Was hoping the wind would be at my back coming home but uh...nope. That's the worst! It was kind of a struggle!
I need to get my bike tuned up though. It's a pretty cheap hybrid and it was rattling the whole time. Maybe I should invest in an actually good one, but I tend to leave my bike in high traffic areas and bikes are one of the only things that actually get stolen regularly around here.

Had an oh sh*t moment on tonight's walk. Where we live, there aren't any street light and people don't typically have their porch lights on so we end up walking in complete darkness. We do carry a flashlight but my husband only turns it on if a car approaches.

We were walking and heard something large and big coming at us from the woods. Husband turns on the flashlight just in time to see a huge buck run right past us. Scared me really bad.

That sounds wonderful. I've ridden my bike around the lake here a few times. It takes about 90 minutes to get all the way around. Lovely views and only a few places where you have to share the road with other traffic. My bike is currently rusting away under a tarp. I was going to work on it this summer, but got distracted by other projects. Maybe next year.

Scary! I try not to walk after sunset here because there are so many deer crashing around through the woods. We scare the bejesus out of each other.

I hiked Mitsutoge on Friday. 45 minutes yoga before I left, 3 hour climb up and back and then an hour of yin yoga to stretch out those sore muscles afterwards.

Saturday was just an hour of yoga. Sunday 90 minutes walk and two 40 minute yoga sessions. Monday an hour of yoga and a 30 minute walk.

A few pics from Friday's hike.

It must have been fun getting this jeep all the way up.

Looking the other direction towards the Southern Alps. I think you can see the crater of Yatsugatake volcano on the left.

I've been walking inside the house! It's just too cold for me outside. It's a big old house, so lots of rooms to walk in and out of.
You can use the stairs and get some good cardio in. Walking is an all around good exercise whether done inside or outside. Keep it up!!! Get your exercise in no matter what. Stay dedicated.:hyper::bliss:

We're having extremely unseasonably warm weather, like average high for today is 8C, and already it's 16C, and forecast to reach 20C. Almost shorts and sandals weather! Same for tomorrow, then rain the next day, then back to normal temps again. Can't complain, as it is November. Crazy though, considering we had snow last week. :runaround:

So will either go for a walk, or rake some leaves. Then I want to sit on the deck and read for a bit.

Yikes!!! Definitely scary!

Not totally gone, but getting there.

A few pics from Friday's hike.
Gorgeous pics, as usual. No wonder you are so motivated to walk outside.

A nice hot bath should do the trick.

Thank you! Yes, it is really pretty around here.

I've been doing walks around the neighborhood and 45 minutes yoga before and after each walk. All the extra stretching seems to help a lot.

Going horse riding tomorrow.

We had the best ride we've had all year yesterday. The weather was perfect, the forest was all red and gold, we were cantering through the trees with clouds of leaves floating down around us and saw a family of wild deer. So glad I got up early and went riding.

I rode Mitsu, here he is trying to eat a tree.

We asked our guide to take a photo of us under the maple trees, but it came out like this. :flail: Don't know why he stood behind a huge clump of susuki to take it.

Two hours ride, then an hours walk around the stalls they have set up for the Red Leaves festival near the lake, then an hour of yoga yesterday.

Just 45 minutes yoga today.

I managed to get a game of soccer yesterday. First one in about 10 months. I was still kind of uncomfortable about it. I wore an anti-droplet mask the whole time but only one other guy wore one. Well, at least we were outside in the "fresh" air (air quality is really terrible right now!)
I am so sore today. I am really out of fighting shape. I think the other team was supposed to be a hobby team, but they ended up being a bunch of guys in their 20s and the team I play with is a lot of guys in their upper 30s to lower 50s so we were struggling. I played one quarter in goal and got scored on 3 times...kind of a bummer. Two of them were defensive mistakes that I couldn't keep out and 1 was just something I would've gotten had I been playing regularly (bad goal awareness on my part, so it snuck in near post which is the worst)
Went for a walk to try to keep everything from locking up, but I'm tingirl walking today haha

The air got a little better as the sun went down. The field had no lights so we had to quit about 15 minutes early. I bought new gear at the end of last year and only got to use it once...so everything looks shiny still (except my ratty old leggings...those are not new)
