I just finished "Sweet shop kitties" which has probably been done by someone else here. Nice and busy; 750 pieces. Started it two days ago, had a puzzle day yesterday and worked on it several hours morning and afternoon, then finished the tabby mom this morning. I have found if I cover my puzzles with a piece of material that doesn't hang down, my cat Mia isn't interested (so far) in destroying it, like my previous one did, so I can do more than one puzzle per sitting, which is nice.

Sweets and cats.. they're onto a winner there with subject matter.
Well done!
And that's a good plan with the fabric.

I'm joining you! One of my daughter's patients has lent us a jigsaw which she'd done while having to keep her foot raised after an injury. The only drawback: it's a no-name product with 2000 pieces. We started it yesterday and my daughter has finished the outside and most of the sky (a sunset, so no boring patch of blue) while I have been sorting out the pieces - first the outside pieces and now according to color. I did manage to put a few pieces together - but, the light is poor, my eyes are not as good as they could be, and I quite enjoy sorting. There's still a lot to do! I would never have attempted it on my own!

Two thousand piece puzzles are hard but fun if it’s a good image. I always start with colors too, and I also enjoy sorting. You may need to pick up a table lamp though so that you have enough light.

My DS and I were just looking at a 3D globe puzzle on Amazon. He loves maps and will literally take the globe in the car to look at. I'm not sure if he is ready for the big one that's over 500 pieces (numbered on the inside) but the kid one looks nice too. They are from Ravensburger so they should be good. He loves mazes; so I think he could get into puzzles.

I also spotted a deal on a round color wheel type puzzle but I don't know if my BFF has it. $9.90 with the coupon; so nicely priced. We're using 2 desk lamps - one on the decorating table where most of the pieces are laid out. We are working in a basement room with a strong pull-down office lamp from the ceiling. With some daylight during the day we get on quite well, but without natural light there is a lot of reflection from the jigsaw pieces themselves. But, we've got to finish it this week. next Monday new windows will be fitted in every room and I can't expect the men to tiptoe around a huge puzzle as well as avoiding falling over one of the cats!

The 500 piece globe one sounds like it would be great, MoochNNoodles MoochNNoodles !
I put a price watch on both versions so I can see if the price comes down for me.

It might be a little difficult for him to do the +500 piece one; but I told him things like this aren't meant to be done in one day. The kids one is 140 pieces and more colorful; but I think he will like the finished product of the adult one more. He really liked the Eifel Tower one they had too. When he was a little guy he would do the wooden puzzles over and over again. So hopefully he will get into these too.

This was a really unusual one found in an Op Shop.. Korean, and really well made. The pieces are thick and have a matt textured surface. I'd love to know the story that goes with the picture.
