Hi everyone, on Sunday I noticed my cats inner eyelid was irritated and had what maybe looks like a scratch on it. I’m not 100% sure it’s a scratch but as you can see from the picture there’s very clearly a mark of some kind so I kinda stumped on what else it could be. He doesn’t seem irritated by it at all. I also don’t know how he could’ve gotten scratched if that’s what it is because that seems difficult for him to do to himself and in the more than a year since my two cats have lived together I’ve never seen them fight, although it might’ve just been playing that got too rough. Either way I’m not really sure how to treat it or if I should do anything at all other than keep an eye on it - since it’s so close to his eye I’m hesitant to try to clean it or put anything on it. I don’t think it warrants a vet trip unless it gets worse or someone here thinks it might be something that’s not a scratch. The first two pictures I’ve included are from yesterday, the third one is from today. You can see when his eyes are closed it’s a lot less red and irritated today but the actual “scratched” part is pretty much the same.

Since it's an eye issue, I'd get to the vet. Maybe you can email these pics to your vet and get some salve or meds for him.
I completely agree! :agree: Health issues concerning the eye should not be taken lightly and a vet exam is warranted. Best of luck, please keep us updated on her progress.:alright:

Hi I found the same scratch yesterday on my kittens eye. Can you please let me know the outcome of your cat after the scratch. Did you take him to the vet? Or did it heal on its own? And how long does it take to heal?

I think you shouldn't ignore that. My only suggestion - find a vet who can see your pet today and don't wait, cause it might me dangerous. It is the best if you have a pet emergency fund Petcube.com for the cases like that, as we all know how expensive can be an emergency treatment of our pets in a new clinics. Please let us know how she is doing and what was the problem.
