What did you think? Difficult? Or am I a quitter.
It does look a bit tricky! One of the hardest puzzles I've done was a 500 piece, and the pieces were all weird shapes. I think if the pieces aren't fitting together quite right, it might not be the right piece. That's usually what I find when I'm not sure. And sometimes I just get to the point where I try every single piece of the right shape until I get it.

I looked at the spoiler..
Don't worry, by the time I finish it, you'll have forgotten what it looked like. ;)

it's a Buffalo, which is quite a good make. But it's hard!!
Good to know it's a good make. And glad to hear it's hard, and not me being a puzzle failure.
rubysmama rubysmama , doing a puzzle should be fun and if it is too hard or boring, it isn’t. If I find myself with one of those I bag it up and go on to a different puzzle.
That's a good point. But I will give it another shot. And now that I know it's going to be time consuming, I'll be better prepared for the challenge.

We'd done a couple 300 piece ones that only took a few hours, so I wasn't expecting a 500 piece one to be so much different. I think you're probably right, that if the piece doesn't feel right, it probably isn't. Anyway, I'm going to make this a winter project, so sometime in early 2021 I should hopefully be making some progress. ;)

It’s dark and rainy and I think that calls for a Jigsaw. I am going to start one, don’t know manufacturer, called “Lost in a Jigsaw.” It’s supposed to be a maze within a puzzle, so it may be hard but just 500 pieces.

I just started this puzzle yesterday after weeks of not working on one. I am surprised at how it takes my mind away from the news and makes me relax. I always have a puzzle set aside for a snowstorm that you can get totally engrossed in for a few days. I am thinking this year that I will set aside the best puzzle as an election puzzle and see if it will keep me focused on something other than the election for a couple of days. Or maybe the entire month of November if it’s needed.

I think jigsaws are really under-rated when it comes to mindfulness. I think of the Buddhists who create huge yantras out of coloured sand, and then when they've finished they toss it into the ocean or wherever. Jigsaws are bit like like that.. all that focus, and then we just pull it apart. :) I teach yoga/meditation and have recommended them to a lot of my students, especially in these trying times.

I agree, mani mani . I need to take a picture of my current one. It is full of images but they are very very tiny and some sections have identical pieces. It’s so hard but so fun at the same time. It was cold and rainy outside and I spent hours on it that just flew by.

Funny! Was it a used puzzle? It is a beautiful puzzle.
Yes it was used, but it looks very much like it came from the same puzzle, so I think it was that way from the start.

Yours looks tricky!

I started my new puzzle last night - I guess I didn't sort outside and inside pieces well enough - whoops! I'm sure I'll find them as I go on.

This one's a Buffalo, just like rubysmama rubysmama 's current challenge - I checked before starting.

Very nice! :) How long did that take you?

Here is the devilish “Lost in a Jigsaw” puzzle I am working on. I did a close up of a corner so you can see how small the images are. And it’s all on a diagonal.

And you're already further along than I got with mine. Good thing you've got time to do the big puzzles now, as soon you'll be being doing ones like this. :)
