Someone TP’d my house this morning. Its amusing and baffling at the same time. It happened between the time DH left for work and when I drove by an hour later to get my kids from a sitter after my dentist appointment. What teenager is awake and up to shenanigans at that hour?! It was only one streamer too so did they get caught?! 😂 My neighbor was still home when I drove by. It was glued to a piece of cardboard (DH pulled it from a gutter); so definitely planned. At first I thought it wasn’t even the cheap 1ply kind; but I pulled it down when it started raining again and it felt like the commercial stuff.

So who would do that?! I don’t live in a neighborhood. Cars go 50 in front of my house. My kids aren’t old enough to have friends who can prank them. The only teens from church that live close are a little old for that too. 🤔

My first thought was that DH did it with a little leftover roll from his work bag (emergency tissue supply) and wanted to be funny knowing we’d be home soon but he swears it wasn’t him. 😂

Its a mystery! 🧐😂
Whoever thought someone would TP again (especially so soon!) after the great toilet paper outage of 2020. How quickly they all forget... 😂

I didn't even know kids still TP'd. I haven't seen that around here since the late 70s so thought that was a thing of the past. And now they do it when it's not even Halloween?

The supermarket here had plenty of both. I grabbed 4 containers of disinfectant wipes and the only two big refill bottles of Softsoap to have on hand if the pandemic has a second wave later this year.

artiemom artiemom do you know if the reusable shopping bag ban is still in effect? They were originally banned because people were freaking out over bags contaminated with viruses and stuff spreading the germs around. The supermarket only had paper bags with no handles available today. It was not easy carrying two heavy bags of groceries home :headshake:

we live as usual ... only masks outside the house ... if it comes to us, we will overcome it ... but this is only our intuition, do not take an example from us ...

To be fair, clothing doesn't go on the conveyor belt, the bagger doesn't have to touch it, etc. I can see why they'd want to avoid reusable bags right now.

I know Walmart asked people not to use them for a while but I don't know if that's still in effect or not.

Welp, we had about a week of almost normal living, but for some reason this virus keeps spreading like wildfire through megachurches. I have conspiracy theories about it. Our original outbreak was due to a massive cult church and I'm thinking that they had members intentionally infected this whole time and are now purposefully spreading it to other churches to make themselves not seem as bad. This isn't as farfetched as it sounds as that particular cult is known for sending members into other congregations to poach followers. Most churches have prohibitions on non-members entering, but when your church has 50,000 members you can't keep track of everyone.

To make matters worse, today was liberation day and the conservative parties and the very same churches involved in this massive outbreak held huge rallies in the center of the city. These are all older people (like +60) to which the death rate is 10-25% for this virus. Now, these aren't anti-maskers, so most of them will have been wearing masks the whole time, but stillllllllll....!

The government moved us to stage 2 social distancing. Not much changes for individuals yet, so hopefully the numbers are only big for a couple of days while everyone gets tested and in 2 weeks we can relax a bit again. I know most people aren't taking this outbreak as seriously as they should since they think it's only church people involved, but these people go really far to attend megachurches, so it's not contained in one town or district.

I had really bad anxiety the past couple of days. We have Monday as a holiday, so I'm planning to unplug and go off the grid for a day. I can physically feel everything tensing up whenever I open a news site (which I do compulsively because I love information), so I just want to relax before facing reality again on my Tuesday morning commute.

Reusable bags are still banned here, and I keep forgetting to bring the plastic ones back to the bag recycling bin, so we have way too many in our home right now.

I really miss my reusable bags.

Eh, no conspiracy needed. People at churches get too close to each other, there's singing and hugging and whatnot. Same with bars---everybody is a little tipsy and they forget not to breathe on each other. And their ventilation systems may not be the best.

I'm waiting to see what kind of transmission rate happens after the Sturgis rally. I'm not sure if they'll be able to keep track of everyone but maybe a few will be willing to cooperate. The average age at the rally this year is 54 :/.

LTS3 LTS3 As far as I know, Reusable bags are back in. You can use them. I still prefer the disposable.
Just not ready for it.. as I am not ready to go into any stores, "just to look around". I had to refuse 2 people, who were asking me to go out with them,~just to get out. I am still doing senior hours.

I too, am fearing a second wave this fall/winter. Either with a second wave, or a flu outbreak, supplies will be hard to find.
Also in discussion is if we wlll be quarantined in our apartments, again. I feel there is a very good chance of that happening. I dread it; but it is still a strong possibility. I think people will revolt; after what happened the last time. I will go along with, with the exception of checking on my car. I cannot let it sit another 7 weeks without checking or starting it. Gloves and masks will be worn, if I do. Have to plan for the future.

Went to Trader Joes this morning. Yup, only 3 packs of PT on the shelf, they had 4 packs of TP. It seems everyone is feeling the same way.. we are all stocking up. After the last time, we discovered what things were necessary; so now, we are stockers/hoarders.

I was talking to the cashier. She told me that she just got a huge order from Costco delivered to her house along with an order for her mother's house.

I do not have any room for anything else. I am just going to resupply what I am using up. I use a ton of tissues and PT. I picked up a pack of dish towels at TJ's. Again, their supply was dwindling.

Toilet paper shortage here but lots of paper towels. Not that we need either one at the moment so it must be by demographics.

It depends on the store too. Here, Costco and Sam's Club are out of TP, but Walmart has a reasonable amount, and Menards has full shelves. So if you need some, check the less likely stores, such as hardware stores or small grocery stores.

I am a major seasonal/holiday home decor person. I have no idea how I am going to decorate for Fall/Thanksgiving. Last year, I had 16 year old cats who didn't climb up on anything. Now I will have 5 month old kittens who are into everything. I have already had to modify my kitchen table decor because it had little foam "berries" on it so cut those off and threw away. Guess I will have to modify more stuff as I pull it out to put out.

Here we get sent back to our car if we try to enter any of the stores with reusable bags including Aldi or Save A Lot. I don't know about Walmart because frankly I don't like Walmart that much.

Not getting anything done here. Binging on Classic Doctor Who on Pluto TV. Trying to occupy my mind til they get this blasted tooth out of my mouth.
