Anyone happen to ever use 'Feline Senior Vitality Pro' for their cat? IBD kitty needs help :)

Hi!

So my cat has several health issues; she is 16. My baby!!

One of them is inflammation (IBD)....and this product came up in my search for anti-inflammatory products.

It isn't sold on Chewy. It isn't sold on Amazon. You can get it through your vet....but that poses a problem. It means that reviews for this, which would tell me if it's even worth getting through my vet in the first place.............are not available to see. I was hoping to see it mentioned here in some post -- anywhere -- but apparently nobody has ever mentioned using Feline Senior Vitality Pro for their cat, ever...in this forum. I didn't see it mentioned in a post title or a post comment; if it has been mentioned before and I missed it, my apologies!!!

So, if anyone can let me know if they have experience using "Feline Senior Vitality Pro"with their kitty cat, please let me know. Whether it went well or terribly!!

Here is the ingredients and dosing instructions, as listed on 'drugs [dotcom']....which I highly recommend to folks who are ever looking for any supplement or drug's usage instructions (and ingredients)...comes in handy when on Amazon and they don't upload the full label or tell you what the full ingredients are in a product!

There are a few ingredients in these chews which bother me (particularly the maltodextrin, as that is proven to not only spike blood sugar but also promote biofilm growth for pathogens)....but the anti-inflammatory ingredients look promising!

Anyone even just use anything listed within these chews for anti-inflammatory strategies? Meaning like...have you ever used the DMG, or the mussel, or the resveratrol, or the GanedenBC30® (Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086) ....etc.?

Yeah, the 'inflammation' from IBD that I was referring to is what I'm trying to accomplish. Getting it down to a manageable level.

I get a decent feeling from this company, but they've put out products before that are either ineffective or has made cats ill. You seem to have had a good experience with the product you use by them, is that about right? Seen that one as effective?

It's not the same supplement as this one, of course, but...well, I suppose I'm desperate to hear anything at this point about this company. I need hope.

Why don't you search the IBD threads on this site and see what they might have to offer in terms of supplements? Or, you could start a new thread asking for some recommendations from other members whose cats have IBD??

Thanks for that, knowing it's at least helped somewhat gives me a little comfort.

As to 'searching'....man oh man I've looked. And everything I find that is recommended I've tried; believe me when I tell you I've tried all the usual things. Fish oil, CBD, CoQ10, Curcumin, etc....I mean it's not just that but also I've tried a ton of different canned foods, too. This journey started about 7 years ago for us when she started having issues. She was on Purina One at that point (dry) and I was a total n00b with "all things cat health"...I mean...LOL I had NO idea at that point how bad dry food is!! Thank GOD THOUGH that she was on Purina One; during the "pet poisoning crisis" (melamine) of 2008 she was alive and survived because thankfully Purina did not use the same Chinese supplier implicated in the melamine/food supplement that other pet food manufacturers were using. So there's that!

I had talked with my vet when she first started having issues....first signs were her scarfing down her food. "Get her a bowl that she would have to eat slower from!" is all the vet said. No testing for inflammation...or pancreatitis, or liver disease, or anything. Just an assumption that my cat was "just an overeater" -- that was a misdiagnosis. If only I had been told back then what really was happening....if only a diagnosis was even tried...if only I had had another vet.

Live and learn!

Today, I make all her cat food at home; I use Pet Diet Designer to calculate NRC and AAFCO values, to give her balanced species-appropriate food. I make sure she is well-fed and well-loved, making sure she is as happy and healthy as is humanly possible.

But man oh man, if we had only gotten a diagnosis back then...all the missteps we took could have been avoided.

We really have tried a ton of things. And I've searched endlessly here for "new things we have not tried yet"....but thank you for your suggestion.

If you have any experience with any of the ingredients within this (separate ingredients) I'd love to know that too.

I do know that if you were hoping the B12 would help any, the most effective B12 is the injectable form. And, I know that other members whose cats have IBD give their cats B12 shots. That is about all I know to offer regarding the ingredients. Maybe something in this thread might help, or trigger thoughts on your part?

Oh you're a darling; thank you for that.

Unfortunately we've tried all those things. And I've read their website. And seen their group posts too! It's not a bad group, or site, but their advice is nothing new. At least, to me....

Sadly, I'm not a n00b to IBD. I'm only asking here because I've asked in that group and other places the same questions....over and over and over again. Nobody seems to have anything new to share.

This product, though....is the "newest" thing to give me hope in awhile. It has several ingredients I've never tried before, for relieving inflammation.

Which is why I asked. And why I asked here.

SO thank you, it is appreciated that you would try to help.

But, you know sadly, I have exhausted that site's options, their posts, and all that jazz.

Looking for something "truly innovative" now, something new.

And sadly that group, that site...is nothing new. Played out, basically.

At least in my world.

Have you ever tried using any of the ingredients in this supplement, separately (independent of it)...?

I suppose that is the question to ask now -- if anyone happens to have experience with using any of the ingredients in this product.

Oh in case anyone is wondering, just to clarify, I'll put this here:

I am not wondering about 'anything IBD'....I am asking about a specific product and its ingredients, and wondering if anyone has any firsthand experience with this product or its ingredients....in hopes of helping a cat with Constipation-Dominant IBD calm down their chronic, extensive level of inflammation.

So, to be clear....I need feedback on this specific product, and not the condition of IBD itself.

I hope that helps offset any confusion as to why I started this post, or what I'm looking for.
