So weird, where there is happy there is also sadness...I mentioned one of my own cats wasn't feeling well and I fear he will not make it...taking him to the vet tomorrow...

I will ask them for meds as well for the wee ones. We don't have dawn dish soap but I found the Dutch equivalent of capstar, tomorrow I will look into DE as well, shops are open normal times then as well

I got an app from the lady asking how they were doing and it's hard not breaking character, feel like I'm putting up a show...at least they don't know where I live and I can't wait to get the flyers copied and distributed.

I am so thrilled that you got the kitties! They definitely needed out of there. You can be an ambassador for TNR - create trust and communication by giving glowing updates to reassure them about how well the kittens are doing in your care.

Just send the farm lady a couple of pictures and reassuring comments on how well they are doing and how appreciative you are to have them, and she will likely stop asking soon.

I hope the vet can help your older cat who is not doing well. Are you taking the kittens in too? I’m sure the vet will want to see them before prescribing the antibiotics they likely need. Good you found the Capstar equivalent. :)

Little guys are doing good. The mucus is a lot less, still congested but I noticed them sleeping healing sleeps without being bitten all the time. Still combing my ass off but most of the fleas look pretty dead or dying. Not as quick as yesterday and I was careful to not let one get on me so fingers crossed rest of my house is still free

My vet won't need to see them just yet. I have got so much experience she trusts my care. I don't know everything, didn't go to vet school but she once said: if you come here with a cat something is really up, like with my poor jaundice cat.. All I have to do is tell her what's ailing the poor little guys and I can go get the medication. Once the URI has cleared up they'll have to go in for shots of course.
It's weird, because I am never hesitant about injecting meds into lambs or sheep, but cats..... Of course lambs and sheep don't completely murder you when you stick a needle in their skin

Look, their white is almost white

The boys are doing well. Their coats are clean and they don't recoil when I touch their backs now. Their fur is so soft and I comb right through it now.
However they're bored with their little living space and I have an enclosed room there where they can at least run and play a bit, but it's also used by 3 other cats(I can shut them in another part of the room). Now they have been on their meds since Monday and they look very clean, sometimes a sneeze and the congestion is as good as gone.
Is it safe for them to use that room a couple of times a day?

Still no names though...I can't think of a theme or a way I want to go. My husband doesn't want me naming them, because I'll get attached:lol2: but I can't very well be calling them kitten 1 and kitten 2, now can I?

I would hold off letting them roam for another week or two if you have been fastidious about washing up after handling them/before handling your resident cats. Meanwhile, for mental enrichment, you can add extra levels to their cage by putting in boxes or adding a second story. I use popsicle sticks and short pieces of cord to attach dangling toys for amusement. You can have fun creating a "habitrail" of sorts.

Good idea and yes, very fastidious in washing my hands. I am also the only one cleaning their cage.

I am quite the handy woman. I make something for them😁 Thanks for the ideas

You are doing a great job! Since you have kept exposure between kitties to a minimum, I would isolate as long as possible. I know that you are very busy but if you could provide examples of how you are modifying the cage, it would inspire a lot of other cat guardians. Our forums are visited frequently by lurkers who won't be joining but need the advice/guidance found here in these threads. Often my advice is actually directed to that audience rather than to the OP....plus, I would love some fresh ideas for myself ;)

Oh, I love, love, love your creation!! You should market those - what enrichment it would be for kitties in shelters and foster care. Do you have a blog or YouTube videos?

That’s very good advice and I love what you did! You are very handy! :)

If your cats are vaccinated and these little guys are doing well with no fleas, no diarrhea, no congestion, I would think it might be okay to let them out by this weekend. :)

I am on Instagram and Youtube but I'm not really the social media type🤭 My instagram is ring.theone if you want to see all the kittys, I post anything cat related there.

I have thought of marketing the cages but not sure where to start. That and there isn't as much interest here. It's very different here compared to USA or UK when it comes to rescue.

Everybody is doing ok. Giving the kittens a lot of playtime and attention until their round of antibiotics is up(6 days and we're on 4). They look better by the day. My sick cat has started eating again after a different vet prescribed antibiotics. We did an X-ray as well and no fluids, so fingers crossed for the sweet guy

Oh my god you guys....there used to be 5.....😢

That grey one looks weird....he and the little white one passed rather quickly she said...why? How can she be so...callous.... And then she shows me 2 pictures of the cats she took from the farm and they are healthy and fat....how...how can people be like that?

I also have some happy updates. I upgraded the living quarters, Houdini was giving his name credit. Copper is still sneezy so I started them on a different antibiotic and hopefully this will resolve the URI. Cage is my own design 🤭

Just sharing some more pictures. Bit shaken up by the conversation I had with previous owner...I hope they do something with the flyers....

I've been so busy with Puk, but here is a nice updated picture. Fox and Heathcliff adore the little guys, Eve is indifferent. Pardon my mobile quality in pictures 🤭

They have a bit of the sniffles still. Could be a remnant of the URI but Heathcliff caught the same bug. Fox and Eve seem to have eluded. To be save I started the boys(all 3) on antibiotics.
