Hi,

We are trying different brands of wet food for our cats. So I bought some different cans at Petco, but accidentally purchased one can of senior food (7+) of Whole Hearted brand chicken pate. It is unopened but we threw away the Petco receipt.

Would it be harmful to our 2 year old cats to eat it anyway or should I try and exchange it at Petco without a receipt?

Thanks in advance.

FYI so far the only brand they like (other than Friskies and FF) is Soulistic. Any suggestions on similar food to try would be helpful also (they seem to like pate more than chunks or shreds).

Hi! one can won't be a problem, but if you prefer you could try taking it back and doing an exchange - they're sometimes quite good about that :)

I don't know, but this might be helpful in regards to brands and their consistency;

Petco exchanged numerous cans of foods for me w/o receipts= (fussy eaters) the senior won't hurt him, but switching (which I'm guilty of looking for something they will eat) can be hard on their digestion I've heard.

Brands that are similar to Soulistic are Weruva and BFF, and they are all under the same parent company . Not sure if Weruva even makes any pates though. Pretty sure BFF now has a pate line.

Tiki Cat reminds me of Weruva and they make a Velvet Mousse that is in a pouch but is definitely smooth as silk.

Thanks, they hated Tiki Cat canned food with the exception of the velvet mousse, they love that. I tried pureeing the Tiki cat in the food processer to a pate-like texture but they still only nibbled at it! I will try the other two, thanks.

Thanks Happy. They are mostly eating Wellness Core dry food for breakfast and Friskies or FF at dinner. We have them sample a new variety about once a week so it doesn't seem to upset their systems.
