My sweet precious Mittens! Why did you have to leave me? I keep asking myself that question over and over again. The problem is , I just don't know the answer. I suppose I will never know the answer. Yes , I called you and Shadow my healing kitties , since that is exactly what you both were. I was completely lost when my Mickey left me. I knew that I had to do something to ease my broken heart. I just couldn't go on the way I was.
Along came Shadow and then you. The two most perfect kitties ever , and Shadow adored you from the very first day. You took a little longer to warm up to him , but Shadow gave you all the time you needed. It took about one month for you to come around and love us.
You finally realized that you were home , that you were safe and would be loved forever.
You were a truly happy kitty!
Why did you have to get sick , too sick to save? I tried my very best , but it was just not enough.
I will never forget your last day. It was a Sunday afternoon. You were not eating enough and the vet was discussing a feeding tube. It was to be discussed more on that following Tuesday. I was at a loss as to what to do. You decided for me and you took your last breath on that Sunday afternoon all on your own. I held you so close and you looked at me and kept petting my cheek , as though you were saying" good bye mommy I must go now".
Shadow was nearby just looking on. I can swear I saw tears well up in his bright eyes.
Then , you let out your final breath. I was devastated as was your kitty brother , Shadow.
You were only in my life for five years and you were barely ten years old.
Ten years old , way too young to go. It just isn't fair. You should have many more years left.
You were such a beautiful sweet kitty , my precious ginger kitty.
You took naps with me , kept me company watching t.v. , never leaving my side.
You cried when I had to go out (even though you had Shadow for company).
You always wanted your mommy. I would hurry home to you , knowing how happy you would be to see me. I always brought a toy or a treat for you , anytime I want shopping.
I knew you would peek in the bags looking. I could never disappoint you.
Oh Mittens , the light has gone from my life. The days are just one big blur.
You meant everything to me , I am so lost.
I took so long to write this tribute to you. I just couldn't do it. I didn't know how to let you go. I still don't.
Please forgive me. I tried to help you. You should still be here. I know that and I tried.
I truly did!
RIP Sweet Mittens!
You will always be my healing kitty.
Stay near Mickey. He will love and protect you just as Shadow always did.
My eyes are all red now with tears streaming down my face.
I love you so much Mittens.
Life is so cold now without you by my side.
Please watch over Shadow and I as we are both so lost without you.

I am so so sorry that this all happened, losing them anytime is rough but we are all so emotionally strained dealing with this Covid and this weird way of living that I can imagine it would be 10 times harder to deal with right now.

I am so sorry that you lost your little friends, very sorry. I know this is very little comfort right now but after reading what you said please remember:

"Their last breath on Earth is their first breath in Heaven"

And I know it say it so much it seems like I make money off of it (I don't) but please research the homeopathic remedy Ignatia Amara, it is for grief and loss and shock and sadness and works very well.

I hope that your heart heals a bit more each day, God Bless you......

My heart hurts for you, I know how much this hurts. We will never understand the why's, never accept the finality of it. words can bring some comfort, but never take away the pain, because this is so personal. It is your loss, your pain, and no one will never feel it the way you do.
All your little ones are in your life for a reason. Not to bring pain, but to bring joy and happiness. Try not to dwell on the end, it changes nothing and only brings pain. I hope you can take some comfort in knowing that precious little one died at home, held in loving arms, and surrounded by the love that was there and always will be. You gave that sweet one everything because home and love is all they ever want and need. You didn't try, you succeeded.
The love of that precious one will never leave you, you will always have a bond, always share a place in each other's soul. Mittens will always be as near as your thoughts and prayers, will forever follow your life's journey. Death cannot take that which never dies.
Please know I'll keep you all in my prayers,m you bring great honor to that little life by this wonderful tribute and remembering sweet Mittens in this way......RIP dear Mittens. You are with your sweet brother now, you will forever have a secure place in a loving heart. May the good Lord bless and keep you, until you meet again!

Yes, they use to tell us when it is time to go. They have a way to send us a message, and we are good enough to understand it.
They would never like to leave us, they would like to stay with us forever, but they can't ignore that call from up there, when they are needed to brighten a wonderful place with the light of their beautiful eyes.

I took so long to write this tribute to you. I just couldn't do it.

You took so long, but you wrote down something very powerful, it made me cry a lot.

RIP Mittens, this tribute is the proof of the immense love your mom had for you. Have the other kitties at the Bridge read this tribute and they will be amazed.

No, it is not enough time. But where there is love, an eternity would not be long enough, would it? This is what I can tell you, what I know to the depths of my being (and it is true for Mickey, as well!), that love never dies, it only changes form and continues on. Mitten's love for you, now translated and purified into Love, is with you now, and will be always. Because Love abides. Always, forever, Love abides.

He is so very mossed.

I try to remember all the happy times with him, but that just makes me cry more. I still want him to be here with me. Life just seems so cold right now.

No, they are never with us long enough. Mittens left way too early.
I feel so bad, as I know his life was not easy until I adopted him.
I loved him from the first day I seen him and I wanted to spoil him for years and years. That was not to be, though, as he was only in my life for 5 years.
He deserved so much more, so much more. Life was not fair to that sweet kitty!

I know it is hard to come to this sad forum and even read all these posts about all these kitties who are gone. I can understand if some people are not able to respond, it hurts their heart too much.

Oh Mittens, another month without you by my side. I miss you so very much. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you. Also, poor Shadow. He misses you as well, and seems so lonely. He is trying his best to comfort me. He likes to protect anyone he loves, just as he always wanted to protect you. It just wasn't fair. You should have gotten more time. You were just too young. I tried my best Mittens. I am so sorry if I didn't do enough.
Please forgive me! Just know that I did try, and would do anything to have you here with me, where you belong.
RIP My sweet Mittens, knowing mommy's love and heart are with you still and will remain with you always!
