She left another polite pile of poop 💩👍 in a back box on the overnight. My good morning gift.

But she also had a water 🤮 right before second breakfast. Part of dancing over me for breakfast was trying to get her face into my half full water glass. So I poured her a fresh glass. She must have drank too much and maybe too cold straight from the fridge.

She’s nibbling at second breakfast. But that has her antibiotic in it. I’ll give her more food at lunch if she doesn’t finish second breakfast.

Right now she looks a little ragged. 😿

I actually tried a little of the remaining dust after I crushed her pill. Sure. It’s bitter. But I’ve had worse. I’m sure it’s better with food. I mean she’s been eating this for two weeks now. I think she’s just still ragged from her water barf. 😿 Four puddles worth. Quite the blast zone!

It's not the taste. It's the aftereffects. Antibiotics ream me. I'm pretty sure they do Krista, as well. :barfgreen::gaah:

Yes. But I'm not convinced she puts two and two together and knows that the vaguely bitter taste in her second breakfast is why she has the multi-featured poops. To be fair, she's been having poop issues for seven or eight months now. They've actually gotten better since she started the antibiotic. Not because of the antibiotic. No. But because when she came back from surgery, we switched to transdermal pred. That reduced her bonus rounds from nearly every day plus poop pukes to a more rare event with no more poop pukes. Not as long as I avoid giving her fish flakes, yeast, and the duck-flavored medicine.

I think the raggedness came from barfing. Not from the medicine. I think she's coming around. She climbed into my lap for an armchair belly ride before returning to her food plate. But she may be eating a little softer for the rest of the day.

In the end, she ate more of second breakfast than I thought she would. She'll get some probiotic in lunch now.

Sounds hopeful!

She's eating well again. Lunch is nearly gone.

Speaking of eating well, despite just receiving another case of 5.5 oz cans of rabbit pate this morning, I ordered a case each of the 3 oz rabbit and rabbit and pumpkin pate. I don't want to disturb the mix that's working for us right now. But I will soon be flush with food once more. I like feeding her two fresh from the can meals a day (usually first breakfast and first dinner.) But if need be, a can each of the 5.5 oz would last us a whole day. But only one meal a day would not be a leftover. Eh, what does she know? I warm up every meal in a hot water bath so nothing is ever served cold from the fridge.

Except the water. 🤦‍♂️

I know the water barf set her back and she ate a little lighter on second breakfast. But it took nearly 24 hours for her to have a nice solid 💩👍.

Which means she’s probably still chambering a remainder just in time for her doc checkup at 10. 🤦🏼‍♂️ Honestly she’s just going to let her out of her carrier and watch her walk around for awhile before putting her back in. I don’t expect a stress or anger poop like she does with other vets. She still has second breakfast coming soon to push out the remainder. 🤞

Hoping she "delivers" pre-drive and that she aces her checkup!

As if she was reading my mind or her thread, she delivered another solid 💩👍. I’m guessing she didn’t eat as much medicine yesterday since second breakfast was her slow meal after the water barf. And the good news for today, she got the smaller quarter pill.

I’m torn. She’s so boney that I don’t even want to finish the antibiotics. But we’re also almost here. I don’t want her to have to repeat this. Ever.

Does the course of antibiotics end this week? Hoping so. If so, not long to go.

30 days ends Thursday. So yeah. Not much longer. As concerned as I am for her body condition, I think she can stick it out another 4 days.

Doc confirmed what I suspected. She has lost more weight. So the doc agrees with me that we have to look at her overall condition and not just stubbornly pump antibiotics into her until her head tilt resolves. She doesn't think a few more days of antibiotics would make a difference and gave me the green light to stop them today.

I was ready to celebrate the news with Krista by re-plating the remainder of her second breakfast. But the first thing she wanted to do when I unzipped the front of her carrier, even before I got it all the way unzipped, she squeaked on through as soon as she could, and went straight to her food dish to finish that remainder.

I can't wait to see what she can do with her food once her gut is clear of all that antibiotic nonsense. The doc said I should check in with her other doc about her weight loss and if her IBD/lymphoma treatment needs to be adjusted. But I just want her to have a break from vets and meds. Obviously I won't discontinue the pred or the chemo. But I don't want to rush into changes before I've even given her a chance to recover from the antibiotics.

I look forward to many good poops and no more bonus rounds.

That's good about discontinuing the antibiotics. Good about her enthusiasm for eating. And I'd feel the same way about giving her a little breather.

She's pooping pretty well for a cat on antibiotics. It makes me wonder if she's been spitting it out. I'll allow it. Starting tomorrow there will be no more antibiotics for her to spit out.

2:30 pm 💩👍

And we had a stinky 🙊 squishy pudding pile 💩🍮 bonus round. But it wasn't nearly as violent as her bonus rounds of the past. No walls or pads were harmed. It was more a loose pile than a blowout.

A brief booty duty and then she comfortably laid on her stomach in front of her food dish to remind me that it's time for her afternoon meal. Yes, sir! :salute: 😸

No we’re done. Doc said there’s no reason to continue to Thurs. “A few more days won’t make that much of a difference.”

Her preference would be another month of antibiotics. But she agrees with me that her weight and body condition is more important here.
