What are some songs you love no matter who is the singer?

For me:
Somewhere Over the Rainbow
Dream a Little Dream
Make You Feel My Love
O Holy Night

There are some songs I love and don't mind hearing another person sing. However, Somewhere Over the Rainbow is one I can't listen to anyone else sing except Judy Garland. 🌈

Unchained Melody. I like Dream a Little Dream, too, especially the Cass Elliot version.
Tie a Yellow Ribbon
Bridge Over Troubled Water
This Land is My Land

Everything Leonard Cohen did, especially his later works, had a meaning underneath. He was a great songwriter. I think his best work was his last 'You Want It Darker'.

I am really kind of about who sings something so I really don't have a song that I always like regardless of who sings it. I have heard some great things that were really butchered and I can't listen to it.

Agreed. That song is Judy's. May she RIP. :rbheart:

I honestly don't think that there are any for me. None that I can think of.

Hallelujah, by whomever. Ok, a few covers have mangled it but it's such a pretty song. Not about what most people think it's about though. . .;)
One of my favorites. I think people would be surprised if they knew what it was really about.

Have you heard Puddles Pity Party sing it? My goodness, it is beautiful!

Dolly Parton is the best, but I love the song "Jolene" and have not heard a version I have not enjoyed.

I'm a classic rock fan and I can't listen to any songs by some other group than the group who sung the song originally. It's never done as well. In many cases, the lead singer's voice makes the band and the song simply isn't the same.
