I belong to a local rescue group and i noticed in the chat group that many are having issues with ringworm. I never dealt with this and all of a sudden my resident cat has a dry patch on his neck. My cats are strictly indoors and i keep them clean. So i been putting apple cider vinegar on it and i did shine a black light on it and it glowed bright green. I will probably take him to the vet after the weekend. When speaking to them on the phone they did not recommend buying anything from store. said its better to have vet look at it and confirm and he has a better way than black light. What has been your experience with this? All new to me. thank you!

My old vet said just to use Lotrimin or other OTC jock itch/athlete's foot ointment for small lesions. He was a very old-school farm vet so idk if that's frowned upon now, but I've never seen any ill effects from it. Using the animal-specific stuff from TSC would probably be better though.
