I woke up before second breakfast to a single perfect polite (no mess, low odor) 💩. No bonuses. No distress.

And a perky Krista who wanted to ride my belly for the third or fourth time this morning. She had a few turns before first breakfast.

She even has a spring in her wobbly step again. Clearly we’re on the right track going away from the 🦆biotic. I’ll call the hospital today and see about getting more pills. As long as she’s eating it this way, I don’t know I even want to chance the bacon formula.
I wouldn't either! *Prayers* and best thoughts for continued good digestion and feeling! *And she's so cute with her wide-eyed, quizzical head tilt look!*

I finally got through to the doctor. It is nuts trying to get through to this animal hospital because it's part ER and part specialists. The doctor is onboard with me trying her back on the pills crushed in her food. If she stops taking it this way, we have the bacon formula arriving today. I really like this doctor. I wish she could be Krista's regular vet. But that's well below her pay grade as a veterinary surgeon. She's got a whole other set of initials behind the DVM.

Huh. We just had another good 💩👍 not 7 or 8 hours since the last. It was still high quality.

No bonus rounds. No signs of distress.

But somehow for some reason, she still 🤮😿🤦🏼‍♂️

Maybe it’s the chemo dose she had yesterday morning. Or maybe it was just too much poop for the day despite how easy it looked.

Well, because of her chemo dose yesterday, I wasn’t going to wait til morning to clean it. At 1am, cytotoxic barf trumps quiet hours. Besides. It took me longer to setup and cleanup the Bissell than it did to use it. She put it all in a single pass width to make it quick and easy for me. 👍

I gave her a replacement 2am meal. I’m giving her a pass on the B12. Maybe tomorrow.

And now I settle in for Korean Baseball. Hopefully we’ll finally
have some MLB action later this month.

Awww, Krista girl! Well, I'd count it as mostly good, yes? And yeah, the SpotBot is a wondrous machine!
Wishing you both a safe, comfortable, happy weekend.

I use the Spot Bot the least. I use the Pet Stain Eraser to pick up the first pass of solids. Then I go over the area with the Pro Revolution upright. One wet pass forward and back. One dry pass forward and back. And I’m done. Takes longer to fill the clean water container before and empty the dirty after than it does to make the passes. The Bot just doesn’t work as well as the upright.

We only have the Bot, and fortunately, it works good for our use. I know it's a hassle to make up the solution and then empty the dirty, but on the occasions I have to use it, I'm confident that it does a good job. The upright must be amazing!

We had a stinky solids in soup 💩 at noon. But I think we’re past it without any bonuses or surprises. 🤞 She seems to be on a 9 or 10 hour poop schedule. But at least she’s regular and mostly harmless now. So we’ll expect the next one about 9 or 10 pm tonight.

We had a great round of 💩👍. Then there was a bonus 🍲 soup. But no carpet campaigns. From either end.

It could be the antibiotic.

Or maybe it’s a result of holding it another four hours past schedule. Possibly because of the fireworks. She never seemed bothered by them. But maybe it wasn’t her favorite time to cop a squat.

Hopefully everyone has finally spent through their stash tonight. We’ve been having illegal fireworks every night for a month now. 🤬

Yeah, we have too, and even though L.A. County cancelled all fireworks for last night, it didn't sound much different, late into the night :argh:But as you say, hopefully they used 'em all up...
Sounding quite good, Krista girl!
Tarifa had TWO, count 'em, TWO portions of soupy salmon last night! I gave her one and waited a couple of hours, because I didn't want it to be returned. She ate with gusto both times. This morning she had two really small portions of chicken and turkey. This is a big, big deal for us. And she came out for some water after I'd cleaned the fountain. Today is a GOOD day!

Is Tarifa having appetite problems? She’s 17? Is she taking anything already? If not, maybe a little CBD would do the old girl good. If she’s already taking other prescriptions, you need to be careful about mixing in CBD, though, as it could make her other prescriptions stronger or last longer.

Personally, I like mirtazapine as an appetite stimulant for Krista. Very effective. But Krista’s mirtz episodes (her vocal serotonin surge) would have me trying something more gentle first if she wasn’t already taking steroids. Since being on steroids though, her appetite has not been a concern.

After the 1am poop and soup, there was no further excitement. Except the occasional late night fireworks still going off. It did push up first breakfast to 4:30 am and a belly ride before 2nd breakfast at 7:30 am. And another easy “pilling”: crushed pill in her 2nd breakfast. 👍

I’m encouraged that Krista has a spring in her wobble and that she’s climbing into my lap again. But she seems even skinnier because of all of this. I really hope that having found her inflammation trigger(s), that weight regain is just around the corner. Because how can she get any skinnier? It’s hard to find places to stroke her that isn’t just fur stretched over bones now. 😿

Well, isolating the problem is the start of solving it, right? *Prayers* and hope for a more comfortably padded Krista soon!
Yes, Tarifa is 17 and actually pushing 18 (she'll be 18 in September according to my calculations). Her appetite has fallen off drastically in the last couple of weeks but it's picking back up now! My cats often "food strike" when it's hot, and being July, it has started getting into the hotter zones here in la-la land. All three have been foodstriking to some extent, but Tar most of all, and being a tiny girl anyway, I am most concerned for her. Haven't tried those -- I'm a very staunch believer in natural and no drugs, for myself and for them.

4 pm solids in soup 💩🍲.

Unexpected. But not unmanageable.

One and done.

Probably the antibiotic messing with her gut biome. But I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt and not act too quickly to correct this time. I don’t want to swing things in the other direction too far or too fast.
