I posted here before about our little Jacob. I found him on a parking lot and he has been with us for about a week and a half. The plan is to have him neutered and vaccinated and adopt him out but ... he decided to make himself at home. I had foster kittens before and even though my 3 adult cats ( almost age 3) are usually cat friendly they are not exactly rolling out the red carpet ... This time ... within a few days they are all sleeping and licking the kitten. They play with him - gently ... and the little one seems more attached to the cats than us. The kitten enjoys to be pet especially when he is tired but he isn't a clingy baby, enjoys sleeping on his own and even though he occasionally comes and says " Hi" he much prefers to play with the cats. He isn't hyper for a kitten and very careful with his play with the adults ( and us). Our clingy and shy cat isn't stressed and feels secure enough to play around him and still get her hugs. Jacob just seems to fit well and everyone likes him - it is like he has always been here... We never planned to have 3 cats - the two girls were a foster fail and I go between " 4 cats are just a crazy wild idea ... " and ... " ... 4 cats are just one more than 3 and my cats seems to really enjoy the little one " . Finding a home for a kitten is easy ... finding a GOOD home for a kitten is not as I had to learn in the past. I did not anticipate this ... I was prepared for all kinds of problems having the kitten here ... aggression, socialization, crazy behaviors ... but not some little dude to walk in here and be ... no problem at all lol ... I try to stay strong and look for a new home for him but ... oh boy ...

As someone who has never had more than 1 cat at a time, I'm probably not the person to answer your question. However, once I read that you already had 3 cats, and that they've accepted him, I think unless you feel you financially can't take on another feline, that the answer is "yes".
Those pictures certainly show how the other cats feel about baby Jacob. :catlove: Thanks for rescuing him, btw. :redheartpump:

I do run quite a zoo already - we have 4 small breed dogs ( all smaller than the cats lol ) - every one of them was sometime of a "special" foster case lol- I have an aviary with birds and the cats ... we always budget for vets as it is an inevitable expense - one of them always needs something ... I know my vets very well by now. I had many many fosters ( mostly dogs) over the years - and have no issues adopting them out... but then there are a few that just walk in here and it feels " right" - harmony is important to me ... I would never keep a foster that stresses out my resident pets. I do believe that animals - just like people - have their likes and dislikes and personalities can clash ... I remember one kitten - he was loud and kind of rough and tumble - no sense of personal space lol and my cats let me know in no uncertain terms that they would be civil but that I better find a new home asap for that one... I have to say that there is few things I love more than watching the interaction between my pets ... like having my very own soap opera ...

It really does just come down to money and room for him, especially since he has fit in so well with your cats already. I don't see an issue with 4 cats at all.

my boy and his favorite girl have adopted ... lol
That's just gorgeous. I'd say your cats have adopted him for you. :redheartpump:
For me it's the financial consideration, not the number.

Like others have said, if you have the room, can afford, and he fits in with your other Cats there's nothing wrong with another.
