tabbytom tabbytom Thank you! I got quite a scare when I didn’t see Mackie. Usually he is terrified of outside. His fur seemed a bit raised and he walked very cautiously across the porch but I am so grateful he decided to wait there for me. He could not have been out very long since I had been in the room with him just before going to fix his breakfast but it could have gone much differently. That AC hose was secured by the new AC guy today. I hope! It appears to be but ......I’m going to try and find an alarm for that hose!

jefferd18 jefferd18 You have nearly cleated that entire colony! :yess: Bravo my friend! Three left. You have done all those cats a great service. I know it has been very hard but I, and many others, applaud you. I am most grateful to you for saving lives and improving our world. Sending purrs to you.

Furballsmom Furballsmom Mackie took pity on his old human and stayed close! Truly a gentleman. Coming in on his own was amazing since I know he does not like outside and must have been scared. He just saw an interesting hole to explore and found out it led to a place that wasn’t inside! It must have been quite a surprise! The new AC guy has 4 cats! He totally understood my concerns and feels the unit is secure now. I liked this new guy!

N NY cat man Wow! That is gorgeous! I have coreopsis but nothing as beautiful as that one. Mine is plain yellow but I would love having the striking red and yellow. Great photo! Did Digger help when you were making that part of the garden? Lol Fertile soil and well tilled? Lol

I just read the other posts about the photo and camera. Hmmmm. I better stop posting unfocused shots. Lol Wait a minute. If my eyes don’t work, you’re just going to have to squint your eyes and pretend it is supposed to have a blur to give it a soft look. Artistic license. Yeah. That’s it! I do that on purpose!

New camera? :woohoo: Looks like you got off to a great start! Is it easy to use? I would like a new one but for now, the phone will have to do. Is there an emoji that is pouting? Oh well, Banjo would probably confiscate it anyway.

Think Mackie saw a strange world that is different from how it was looked from inside out and therefore his fur were on ends and probably think that it's scary and it's safer inside.

The new AC guy has 4 cats! He totally understood my concerns and feels the unit is secure now. I liked this new guy!
You're served better when they have cats. The person whom I order my boy's food from and he delivers the food, he has 9 cats and all are rescue :clapcat:

Yep, some blurred shots are artistic and some are artistically intentionally blurred and some are just blurred because the person behind the camera is blurry  (oh, please, don't shoot me :flail:) and of which some are acceptable as on how you want to view it. Sometimes blur shots tell more of a story than a well focused shot.

Yes. Poor Mackie was not expecting to find himself stuck outside. He was very brave though.

I agree that we are better served by people who understand the needs of our kitties. If they have cats too, they understand. I wish everyone I have to deal with loved kitties! The world would be a better place. Everyone would Sing a Purr!

Sometimes a blurred shot is better. In the old school days, a photographer friend showed me a trick of using a sheer stocking pulled over my lens to give a soft look to a photo. It gave a sort of foggy appearance.
Don’t worry! I would only shoot you using my camera and you might not remember it because it could all be a blur. :flail:I’ll put a stocking over the lens for a nice foggy effect.:cloud9:

Awww! Thank you! I love the kitties so very much. When I watched them as ferals I was always worried. It’s a joy to see them happy and I am very grateful to be able to see them in a safe place now.

I love that! I am doing everything on an iphone. When my computer died I was devoting every minute to the kitty colony and getting a new computer just didn’t matter until the kitties were safe, spayed/neutered and vetted. By the time I got over a hundred done and most adopted, I had just gone and grabbed the easiest thing to find and use which was this phone. The nearest computer store is an hour away and even getting things ordered and delivered here is not easily accomplished. It’s kind of unusual these days to think of any place being so remote but it’s improving. Lol When I moved here there were no grocery stores, banks, gas stations or anything else closer than an hour away. I have a bank twenty minutes from me now and a vet just five miles away! 128GB would store a lot of photos! I laughed when the man in the video said he has three!
That should work on my phone. A friend sent me a link to a company that will ship here so I will see if they have those!
The last time I had a package delivered here, something must have frightened the delivery guy because the box was not put on my porch but just tossed over the fence by my driveway! :running:Apparently the person never set foot out of their vehicle!

Yes, it's always a joy to to see them kitties especially when they were rescued at a young age and see them grow up.

The 128GB can store lots and I have one too. It serves as a back up and also can transfer to computer and vice versa. The other thing is store the photos on Google Drive but not sure if you have to pay a subscription if it's over certain amount of storage.

Yes, I've seen delivery man other rounds online where they toss or just throw packs on the ground infract of the house and there was one delivery, it was a camera lens and the guy just tossed it and broke it. Guess he was fired after that.

There is a definite learning curve involved. For instance, I used the close-up setting on the coreopsis, and apparently that favors a higher shutter speed, but at the expense of a razor-thin depth of field. That doesn't show on my tablet, but it does on a larger screen. Also, for resolution, I'm using a medium/fine setting, as anything larger gets kicked back when I try to upload it to this site. Oh, for the days of my all-manual Canon FTb!!

What you can do is take a normal shot (not in close-up setting) and go as close as you can focus with the lens and with good lighting, step down the aperture for a greater depth of field. After that, crop the photo and with a greater depth of field and a steady shot, cropping will not be an issue.

Usually, close up shots are best done with a dedicated close up lens or a close up filter, which the former will give you a better picture. Shooting plants and flowers need windless days and bright sunlight. Too bright you can always use a diffuser and too dark, a fill in flash will help but a too powerful flash will wash out the shot. A tripod is helpful so that your hands won't be tired.

Furballsmom Furballsmom  That’s a much better idea than my last one.;)

rubysmama rubysmama Yes! That’s a night I’ll never forget! I had shut myself in with , what I thought, was an enraged feral and was basically posting an SOS. It turned out that I actually shut myself in with a giant snuggle kitty. :flail:Of course I had to be properly trained before BJ let me know that. Thank goodness for TCS though. This is the only place I could have come to for help at a time like that!:help:
Yep a lot of us had our hearts in our mouths that nite!

tabbytom tabbytom I think the delivery guys are pretty overwhelmed right now but dropping or throwing any package over a five foot tall fence onto concrete, isn’t good. I was fortunate that it could only bruise and not break. It was fruit.

N NY cat man I miss using my old camera too. We have to relearn everything as new technology comes out. I suppose it keeps are brains active. Lol Maybe BP up too?
A tripod is an excellent idea. It prevents any movement a you can use a timed shot or shutter release to prevent movement as well as saving pained fingers. My old camera had a twenty food cord with a bulb I could use even by stepping on it. That was great for taking pictures of wildlife because I could stay hidden.

rubysmama rubysmama That must be a good choice! I am only seeing very pretty shots with that camera.
The Froggie fan club thanks you! Lol I do enjoy watching the kitties in their own little world. Their purrsonalities shine.

dustydiamond1 dustydiamond1 You had your heart in your mouth too? Lol I felt mine beating against my teeth! I had been trying to get BJ safe for such a long time, I just had to take that chance. I was afraid it would not come again.

He kept changing his mind about accepting me and each day he remained outside I was afraid would be the day something would happen to him. I knew he had been feeling ill so that really had me feeling the push to get him to a vet.

One day he would hide from me...

The next he seemed to want help and came to the edge of the swamp.
38DDF4A2-D298-4BC5-953B-2FAD510A30CE.jpeg

Then he would return to his favorite tree again.

Turning his back on me was definitely a messge that said, no! Go away.

He beat the heart worms and now we can live without the risks that face all ferals. Rescues are a challenge but the rewards are so very worth everything we put in. We get far more back in return.
