Thank you everyone! I know at this point things are more likely to go right than wrong, but I still have a lot of anxiety about the what-ifs - hopefully unfounded!

Are we going to start placing bets on whether Lari Lari Lari Lari has a 2020 or a 2021 baby?
Lol, my vote is 2021. I hear first babies usually tend to come a bit late.

Congrats dear girl! Can't wait until baby gets here. When do you find out if it's a boy or girl? Any names picked out yet? :hugs:
I could have found out with my nipt blood test, but I elected not to. Ideally, I want to be surprised when it's born! (My husband wants to know. So far I'm winning this one). I picked out a girl name when I was 13, so my husband would have free reign on a middle name there, and for boys I'm a lot more flexible. I have a sort of 'style' I like, but no 'must use' names, so later on we'll probably pick out a name together.

Not so secretly hoping for a girl, but have had a lot of wonderful boy students in my years of teaching, so I know either would be great!

It never apparently kicked in aside from some food aversions. My mom said she never really got morning sickness, but everyone said you were supposed to with a healthy pregnancy so...idk!!! I'm also apparently finally starting to get a bit of bloat going on there.
I never vomited with either of my kids. With DD I just had mild nausea and an aversion to meat. It was worse with DS but I managed by wearing SeaBandz. Lovely but effective! I wear them kayaking now.:rolleyes2: And on car trips. Everyone is different. Try not to let all the advice that will come your way get to you.:hugs: I hope you enjoy this time. Pregnancy feels long but then suddenly over. Its a very exciting time!

Okay, I read it all. Like mani mani , I love the size comparisons! You made me smile with each one. A gummi bear, a petit foir, a fortune cookie! Any cravings? I craved watermelon. I was carrying one of those round seedless melons in the grocery store one day when a man who was approaching me smiled and pointed at my tummy, then the melon. He said, “Twins!”:flail: I don’t know who he was, but I liked him immediately. Nothing else was said but we both walked away laughing.
Enjoy and laugh a lot!

I wish I could take credit for the size comparisons. The main app I've been using, Ovia, has four categories: Parisian bakery, fruits and vegetables, fun and games, and weird but cute animals, so I've been taking them from that. I also have another app, pregnancy+, which seems to be a week ahead (like they say 1.61 inches for 10 weeks, which my other app and the main websites like the bump, babycenter, and what to expect all say is the size at 11 weeks), so since they have a sweets option, at least I have a week's notice of what to buy which I guess is the good thing about them running ahead.

Jcatbird Jcatbird - no specific cravings. Cravings and aversions seem to change day to day. One day at the store I thought about buying ice cream and was all "eh, not feeling it" and then a few days later I absolutely needed ice cream. I tend to vary between wanting sweets like candy, and salty like cheese and crackers/popcorn. Not lucky enough to have healthy cravings like kale.

I really appreciate all the love and support. Despite how much I wanted to be pregnant, I've been dealing with a lot of depression and anxiety this pregnancy. Part I'm sure is normal hormones and normal tendencies towards that, part is me trying to wean off my anxiety medications for the baby, and part of it is definitely my own fault. My sister, after originally talking about waiting decided to start trying to conceive right after her honeymoon and got pregnant first. And with her being younger and always doing everything better than me it was kind of the straw that broke the camel's back and I ended up cutting contact with her/blocking her because I was hurting so much, and now I feel like I'm expected to fix things, but I'm still so bitter and angry and tired of everything coming so easily to her and wishing I'd just done something better/first for once. And I know this makes me look really bad, and I wouldn't blame anyone for thinking less of me. :( I'm still convinced I'm going to end up miscarrying just for being a terrible person. It feels like I'm really tempting fate by announcing and idk. I feel like I feel sad and worried more than I feel happy these days and I'm sure I deserve it just because I couldn't accept my place as second best. Idk. :sigh:

Oh Lari hun, It's perfectly normal to have fears during pregnancy. You mentioned you are cutting down on your meds that aswell as hormones and you will feel overwhelmed. You are not a terrible person and you shouldn't feel you are second best because your not. I have one child who could fall in a bucket of you know what and come out smelling of roses. The other three have had to work hard and deal with more in life, YES it's annoying, But you have and are dealing with depression and anxiety and seriously out of wack hormones. Believe me when I say your awesome girl. Enjoy YOUR pregnancy and the occasional ice cream won't hurt. Sending hugs :alright:

Hey, we were here for the lead up to the wedding, the honeymoon, so of course we're here for you during your pregnancy. In fact, I was wondering if/when you would get pregnant, but didn't want to, you know, come right out and ask.

Just remember you're following your own life path, which has nothing to do with your sister. 🤗 Though she probably thinks you're following right behind her. :ohwell:

I hope you can patch things up with her, as you both having children so close together means they have a chance at being best friends for life. When is your sister due?

Mid November. I guess it could be nice if we could patch things up, but it seems impossible with the amount of resentment and jealousy I hold. And if her kid ends up cuter and more talented (which they probably will given her luck) I would hate to have mine always feel less the way I always do. So I don't know. :sigh:

I didn't have a good relationship with most of my step-siblings growing up. We are just very different. Their mother's parenting style was radically different than my step-dad's. We've also gone through some rough stuff. But today; one of my step-sisters has 4 kids. Her oldest 2 are close in age to my 2 and they are SO close. I'm not super close to my step-sister; but our kids are for their sakes and it's precious. I love those kiddos so much. Even if my step-sister and I never become BFFs; those kids mean the world to me. So don't write everything off yet. Sometimes adding kiddos to a family brings people back together. 2 others live on the other side of the country. And I'm still praying things come back around with my other step-sister (who actually was close to me for a while). Things looked pretty raw for a while; but they CAN get better.

My cousin and I are 28 days apart. We were treated like twins sometimes and it was awesome! Except that we always got the same things for our birthdays and hers is first. So I always saw what family was giving me a month before I got it. Often in a different color. An ugly color because it was the 80s. But we had a lot of fun growing up. She was one of my maids of honor. In some ways when my cousins had kids it felt more emotional than my step-siblings having kids did. Their boys feel like my nephews even though I'm technically just a cousin. The fun family story goes that when my Mom and Aunt (my dad's sister) were heavily pregnant with us; Dad took them to the mall. They were walking around with Dad in the middle and people were giving him dirty looks as if they were both having his kid. Poor Dad. We did cry in tandem as babies I'm told. She's the brattier one though. She admits it. My DD strongly resembled her when she was little too.

Oh, Lari, how cool! I think it's just awesome! Enjoy your pregnancy! :hugs:

I had an intense craving for KFC when I was carrying our son. People said that child was going to come out looking like a chicken leg! And, for some reason, I couldn't eat any kind of chocolate. Go figure.

Enjoy!!!
