You all know about my 20 year old Capucchino who has never been sick but for a couple of colds the last few years. Lately I have noticed that she is getting skinnier which I had thought was just because she is such an old kitty. But then I also noticed tat she is eating more than ever, almost 2 whole big cans every day, and thus should be putting on some weight. I mentioned that to a friend who said maybe there is a thyroid condition here somewhere. I looked that up and with her symptoms it certainly could be so she has an appt on Tuesday to see the vet. There go more expenses which I really did not need with having to put down Panthera not so long ago and having that $800 bill in January that told me he had cancer. Seems every time I finally get my finances together a bit something nasty happens. Well, there goes my stimulus check. The last 2 days I have also noticed that she leaves some really awfully smelling runny poops in the LitterRobot, gee, I can smell it all the way in the living room! Tuesday can't come soon enough. I hope the vet can do something about the awful smell and that whatever ails her can be helped with meds. Surgery is out, she is too old and I can't afford it. The tests will be expensive enough.
Chamouti has pretty much taken up Panthera's space. He used to sleep between my head and the headboard. Now he has taken up the space next to me that used to be occupied by Panthera at night which is nice because I was so used to a cat being there every night. He is also hanging around me more than he used to, so does Capucchino who over the years, as she was getting older, seemed to just wanted to be left alone. Now she comes to me wanting to be petted and can't get enough. She has also taken to come next to my head in the morning and grooming my hair while I am still asleep which bugs me as it tickles and wakes me up when I am not ready to get up, it's only 6 am! Once she knows I am awake she starts insisting that I should get her breakfast NOW!
GRRR! Not ready, I'm still asleep.
There must be a cat wandering through my backyard and patio at night. Once I woke up hearing that awful growling and then howling and spitting at my bedroom window and something scratching outside and Chamouti was sitting on the window sill, all puffed up and with all that hair he was a ferocious sight to see. A few nights later I again woke up and this time it was at the patio door which was open but the screen door was locked, This time it sounded like a cat fight and I heard Capucchino's voice too, but then here was that growling and spitting and something hit the screen door so I think that foreign cat was there and got both of mine upset for daring to come into their territory. They only get to go out when I am present and on a leash, so this stranger walking freely where they are only allowed under supervision and on a leash must be really upsetting. I had seen footprints in the snow back in December and twice I have seen a grey striped cat just sauntering through the patio heading for the backyard during the day, but both of mine were sleeping and did not see the intruder or who knows what would have happened. My cats are not used to seeing stranger cats so this is a new experience for them.

A friend's baby used to get a fever of 103 every time he was cutting teeth. Hospital visit and lumbar puncture the first time, ER visits the next 2 times, and then they figured it out. And temps that high can cause dehydration.
The strange thing is that he does not and has not had a fever. He still is not acting right, in my opinion.

I was really critical about people who went on online shopping spree during lockdown since it's a huge pressure for delivery people who are exposed to Covid much more than us in the luxury of our homes. But I had decided to finally act upon my wish to prepare home-made diet for minish and had to puchase supplements and a kitchen scale from different sources (no standard, absurd price differences). Finally my set is complete, tomorrow I will get the meat and organs, do my first batch to freeze for a while. I'm really excited :)

I've thought about the ethics of ordering online during this time because of safety for the workers, too, but at some point realized, how else can I get some of these items? Especially be able to afford it. Walmart doesn't do curbside except for groceries. It's tough. Glad you were able to get the items you needed somehow.

W WillowMarie - I'm not comfortable going to a protest during a pandemic either. I'm expecting numbers to jump in the next week or so and the state to get shut down again.
Yes, exactly. That is even more of a reason to stay home the next couple of weeks as much as possible. Hope you stay safe. <3

Elphaba09 Elphaba09 - was he having a seizure, maybe? I'd be bringing him to the pediatrician to try and get some answers.
Not any obvious ones, but he was staring off into space. I had not thought of that! One of my older sisters has epilepsy. Usually, she just kind of stares off, and her eyelid sometimes twitches. I will mention it to my daughter. She also mentioned the fact that she herself has a kidney disorder, which causes various symptoms, including low tolerance to dehydration. They ran some tests (no ultrasounds, though) and nothing jumped out at them; however, it took until she was 15 for them to find it in her. She has a heart condition, and they just kind of assumed that her high blood pressure stemmed from that. I told her to push for more tests. He goes in on Tuesday to his doctor.

Lilith and I were snuggling in my room on the bed earlier while I was playing a game on the tablet. Sophie came by to see what we were doing and wanted to snuggle on my other side. She got settled in and I told them it was nice that we can all be together. They coexist very well but are not friends. About a minute after I said that, Lilith reached over, slapped her sister then took off into the living room. I call it a slap and run. The smaller the cat the bigger the attitude.

I cannot understand why some teachers are putting so much pressure and stress into our online assignments. I would say 2 or 3 out of my 6 teachers for this summer semester are making my anxiety start to creep up again with regard to school. Wrong dates posted, misinformation, heavy workload, missing information, brushing students off, etc. These are just some of the things I've had to deal with since the start of the semester to the point where I considered just dropping everything. I found an article that sums up how I feel about online classes right now. I don't agree with 100% of everything it said but for the most part... yeah. I don't know if I have a learning disability but I definitely have a harder time processing information than the average person which makes these classes a constant up hill battle. I was finally getting into a good sleep schedule and it has all gone out the window.
Please do a bad job of putting your courses online

I had to sub again today. They decided it was best to let the other teacher rest through the weekend. I hope she gets better before Monday! The kids were getting used to me but I still don't really know what I'm doing and they've definitely missed some things. These kids are so weird because they are almost better at English than they are at Korean. By Kindergarten, they can write full paragraphs in English! but then you give them some crayons and their drawing and coloring skills are definitely Preschool level XD

I was thinking maybe diabetes but I'm certain he had an 8 hour glucose tolerance test.💖

I would have to ask my daughter if they did. She did not specifically mention it.
Maybe Rainbow Babies and Children's at CC would be better. Not trying to be bossy but I know she wants the best for Hobbit.💞
How are you doing? Have you recovered from the incident at nursery? I had a massive panic attack on a freeway in the late 80s driving alone. I have not been able to drive alone on them since. Hang in there.💖

Graceful-Lily Graceful-Lily there are many suicides of despair as I'm sure you know, and college students have always been at high risk due to the pressures. Please stay safe. As one Dean of University said to a friend of mine: "Don't do anything stupid." I have heard this saying: "Don't sweat the small stuff. And it's all small stuff." You are valuable as a human being. You can accomplish whatever you want to at your own pace. :agree: :silver: 🌷

Sounds like Demi & Maggie. They love to punch each other in the face.
Sophie gives as good as she gets. She used to let Lily get away with anything but has gotten much more confident and no longer takes any of her nonsense. Lily is tiny at just under 5 pounds but she can be a bully when she feels like it.
