I'm not one for creamy dressings anymore either , I used to love Green Goddess but haven't been able to find any lately. I buy a package of Hidden Valley salad dressing mix and then use rice vinegar and either olive oil or avocado oil, nothing else, to make the dressing. Leave it on the counter in a cruet or just a small jar, it gets better as it sits and does not get rancid before I use it all.

Underwood Deviled Ham sandwich! I tucked a good many cans away for a rainy day, and DARN IT, IT'S A RAINY DAY! Non-stop, four days of "rainy day." I think Hekitty is mildewing.

i just adore Underwood Deviled Ham! :cloud9:

i'll likely make a grilled cheese sandwich. maybe some canned fruit, too. the last slice (that's thawed) of the gingerbread cake for dessert -- later in the evening! :yummy: and Thank You for sharing the gingerbread cake recipe, lizzie lizzie ! :redheartpump:

You could probably use a different kind. I'd steer away from yellow mustard though. I don't think it would work. IMO it has one use. On a Cuban sandwich.
Yeah, can't imagine yellow mustard working in a salad dressing. :cringe:

I've been using Annie's Lite Poppy Seed dressing.
I actually like poppy seed dressing, despite it being creamy. But generally I prefer the tomato / vinegary ones.

Last night I had a quicky microwaveable Kraft Dinner cup, and a pear. Not sure about tonight. I bought some more of the veggie round, so am considering trying to make a pasta "meat" sauce sometime. So maybe tonight.

Leftover salad. Tomorrow I have the leftover half of a burger. The onion rings and bacon will be soggy but still edible.

This recipe looks good: Spicy Chili Crisp Chicken Thighs Are a Weeknight Knockout I think I'll just make the chicken part. I'll have to look for the "chili crisp" condiment at the Asian supermarket. i wonder if I can get the same result with the oven temp at 375 F? 425 F is a little scary :fear:

Um. Dunno. I'm tempted to say "Pecan cake with caramel icing," and I'm sure that a slice of that will figure into it somewhere.

All this talk of things that are hard to find reminds me that I must find a source of Durkee's Famous Sauce. There is NOTHING like it for turkey sandwiches. A Turkey and Durkee is a treat for the palate.

I ORDERED MY INSTANT POT! I got the 9-function one. Should be here next week. Also a new griddle. My old one works just fine, but it was a cheap model, and the numbers came off of the temp controller the first time I tried to wipe grease off of it! I managed to mark the 350 spot with a dab of whiteout, but it really limits what I can do with it. And a Kindle, but you don't cook with a Kindle. Although it would be VERY handy for cookbooks!

I've found it at Publix.

I have a few cookbooks on my Kindle and I don't personally don't like them in that format. I wanted to but they are a bit of a pain IMO.

I've never heard of it until now. Sounds good! Here's a copycat recipe:
Durkee’s Famous Dressing

Now that you'll have an Instant Pot, try googling "[food] copycat recipe instant pot" and give them a try. Whatever kind of food you want, Chinese or Dinty Moore beef stew or even a Big Mac apparently (I haven't tried that one myself). I've been amusing myself with that the past few months, and not all the recipes hit the mark but it's still kinda cool.

All these new gadgets on the market, I'm shaking my head. I have: a rice cooker, a medium sized pressure cooker that I hardly use anymore because it is too big for just one person, a large pressure cooker for canning things, a small and a large slow cooker where I usually just use the small one, again because it is just me here, a large iron wok with a ring for underneath to use on any stove for all the Chinese food I have been cooking lately, a paella pan that I have used only a few times, an aluminum griddle that I am getting rid of because it is warped and I am replacing it with a cast iron one if it ever gets here, a microwave and a toaster/convection oven. That's a lot of gadgets, is there something out there that would take the place of several of them? The wok is non-negotiable and neither is the big pressure cooker for canning, everything else is up for grabs. Is there anything that would fill the bill for all the other things? Something that would not take up a lot of space but would do what all the other things I have would do? Then there are things like a French coffee press, a 1-cup coffee maker, a 12 cup coffee maker that I drag out every blue moon for company (I keep it in the garage in a big plastic bag), an electric citrus juicer for turning a big bag of oranges into juice, a vacuum machine (also non-negotiable), a handheld vacuum machine for stuff that I open and close several times like sliced cheese or ham which I use a lot, an electric slicer which I also use a lot, a yoghurt maker which I should get rid of (why do I still have that?), a regular toaster which I also use a lot. I need to declutter but don't know what I can get rid of without replacing it with something better and don't feel sorry later that I had gotten rid of it. Any ideas? OK, the medium sized pressure cooker can go and so can the large slow cooker and the yoghurt maker, but what about the rest of the stuff? HELP!!! I have no problem getting rid of clothes but books and kitchen stuff I really have a hard time with.

I don't have one (yet), but doesn't an Instant Pot do the same as a slow cooker, and pressure cooker, and rice cooker. Plus they have other settings like for yogurt, which I'd like to try.
