Carrots are finally germinating!!! The tiniest leaf was found today. And not in the morning, I checked and nothing was there yet. Left for a walk (yes, I finally went on another walk.... outside!), checked my plants, and low and behold the tiniest leaf sliver was there! Very exciting.

Swiss chard is also growing well, and was surprised 2-3 sprouts appeared for each seed I planted. But I guess it makes sense because swiss chard has a few stalks that are attached.

Also, two more succulent cuttings have roots as of today!

He should really get a fence. Even a small area. A Pom running around in the woods is going to get eaten eventually
My neighbor still can't find the puppy. He has driven by 3 times. Where can he be? He cuts through the woods to come see me. That woods is full of coyotes. I don't know much about Parkinsons. But he said the other day he was outside cleaning his pool and the puppy got away. That was the day the puppy was with me for at least 2 hours. Would Parkinsons make him not realize that the dog was gone for that long?

I have bad phone anxiety, but I think I'm gonna call my neighbor tomorrow. I'm so worried. I have to find out what happens.

Could the neighbor use a tie-out so the dog can't run off?
That's what I was thinking. Why isn't he trying more things to prevent the dog from escaping? But I don't know much about Parkinsons. Maybe it affects the mind? The dog has escaped at least 5 times. 4 times he was with me, but this last time he is nowhere to be found. I'm so worried.

If he has a lot of hand tremors, fiddly things like leash clasps and ties might be hard for him.

I hope the dog is okay. I'll keep him in my prayers that he's found safe.

I have had a very stressful month and I just need to dump it all out somewhere, so here goes.

My sister's ex-fiance died from a heart attack, leaving their young daughter fatherless. My sister-in-law got COVID-12. (She is feeling better but it was very scary how quickly she got sick and because she lives across the country from us.) My betta and my danios somehow got sick, killing my betta and three of my danios. My spider that I have had for almost 20 years died. My sister's ex-husband--Yep, the same sister previously mentioned--committed suicide in front of his long-time girlfriend, devastating her, my sister, my niece and nephew, his grandson, and his parents. (My sister was still on good terms with him. I have always liked him.) A close family friend's fiancee died in her sleep from a heart disorder that had hospitalized her earlier this year (and off and on since childhood). She was 26. My daughter-in-law's kidneys are not responding to the medication she is on and they are considering putting her on the donor list. (She just turned 25.) She also was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis in her left leg. And Ezra, the deformed cat I have been trying to catch, has not been seen in a while.

Then, on Monday I decided to try to go to a flower nursery a couple of towns over (mask in tow!) and got locked in because they decided to close at 6 rather than the posted time of 7. I have PTSD and agoraphobia that keeps me almost housebound, so it was a big deal that I went. I was inside a hot greenhouse desperately trying to find a way out for more than 20 minutes, during which time my 27-year-old sandal decided to break. My crippled butt had to maneuver a rocky slope with just my cane and one barefoot because it was the only way out. I ended up very sore with a massive panic attack. Who knows when I will work up enough courage to go anywhere again! I emailed the place to tell them about the cart that I had left on the top of the slope and to ask that they have their employees check at least the parking lot before they close up for the night. I have not received a reply.

Thanks for letting me dump all that out!

Thank you. I know that other people are more directly affected by the deaths and illnesses, but I have been trying to be strong for all of them and remain calm so that when they need me I am able to be there. I am so hurt for them that I am exhausted from it. I can only imagine how they feel.

It's time to take care of yourself, you don't need all the stress. You can be
supportive but maybe step back a bit for your own good.💖 :hugs:

:bat: with Uber. It's been taking longer and longer to get a ride home from work for the past 2 weeks, if I can get one at all. The state only just started the slow phased reopening this week so there's still not a lot of people out and about and needing rides. Yesterday for half an hour I could not get an Uber ride. I just kept getting the message that said there were no available drivers. How is it possible for a huge major city to not have any available drivers? I ended up getting a Lyft ride but that still took awhile for the app to find a driver. I'm getting reimbursed by work for my Lyft ride.

I'd call the nursery and speak to a manager about this. The employees should have walked through the place to make sure there were no customers still shopping before the nursery was closed up for the night.

Wow, that is so much at once. I'm so sorry for all your losses :hugs:

How could a store do that??? For real, retail associates are trained to checked areas to ensure no customers are still there. Someone was NOT doing their job. That's so crazy! I'm so glad you found a way out. That would have freaked me out, too. I feel so angry this happened to you!

Thank you for sharing all of that <3

Like Mia mentioned, it is time to take care of yourself, too. Now it is time to let yourself grieve and heal. Maybe these people will find comfort grieving together? Maybe it will be healing for both of you to open up to them and cry together with each other? If not, remember to find time for yourself and work on lots of self-care. Sending lots of love and healing energy. :heartshape:

That's frustrating. Could Uber drivers be reluctant to drive with the virus? Is Uber offering hazard pay or requiring passengers to wear masks? Just wondering because maybe the payoff isn't worth the risk of getting sick for many people, especially when Uber is more of a contract paying job and does not offer health insurance. Who knows.

Hope it gets easier for you soon to get rides faster.

This right here. I would be very surprised if they did not offer a gift card or something for compensation for what happened. Worth a try <3

I didn't know the colleges viewed summer as a totally separate thing from your main program.

I just found out today that I owe the school $3,212.23 for the summer semester and it's due in 3 days. If I don't pay it, there is a $100 late fee and I might get removed from my classes. On top of that, I haven't even gotten my textbooks yet. :stars:

I might have this same thing in my right leg. Do you know what they are doing for treatment? Is the prognosis good
She is on anticoagulants and has to wear compression leggings. She also has to elevate her legs. I remember her mentioning a shot when she was diagnosed with it, but I am not sure what it was. They said that it normally takes3-6 months to go away, but it is likely connected to the medication she takes for her kidneys. I know there is a secondary issue that can occur, but I am not sure what it is.

All drivers and passengers are required to wear masks. Uber (and Lyft) have guidelines now. No idea about hazard pay for the drivers.

Not sure if there are just less drivers out there now. Since the start if the pandemic and throughout, there were plenty of drivers. I could get a ride almost right away. But in the past 2 weeks it's been taking longer and longer to get a ride. More people requesting rides? Possibly but the state was still on lockdown until this week.

I'm still not allowed to take public transportation. My boss doesn' want any of us to get sick. One person gets sick, the entire team stays home in quarantine for 2 weeks which results in the critical essential work not getting done at all.

My dentist canceled on me! They said they will call me when they open back up. I guess that means I'm not leaving the house until June 15, when I take Maggie to the vet.

The pomeranian puppy is alive! I took my walk past their house and it was so quiet, but then when I walked past their open garage, he barked at me. Sweetest sound I ever heard in life! I told him how glad I was that he's alive and how much I love him.

He definitely has a leash, because he was tied up in the garage, with the door open. His owner didn't hear me or come out the whole time. That's kind of disturbing.

Scary times. We had a black man brutally killed by the Minneapolis police a few days ago. Protests and looting started in Minneapolis yesterday and has spread to where I live North St Paul and Maplewood, some 20 miles away today. All our malls, grocery stores and other stores are closed and being guarded. We have all been told to stay home.
