💩👍

I asked for a 9 and 9 schedule. And well, I don’t know when this one came because I fell asleep sometime in the last 90 minutes or so. I’m guessing it was a 10 pm poop.

Also it’s finally cooler outside than inside and I can open the sliding door to let in some cooler air instead of just blowing around the same hot air with fans.
That's always what I do. If my roomies want the AC I always turn it off before bedtime and open my door (I have a security door so I can do that) and windows. By morning the house is cool. And I have my ceiling fan for overnight. They have a table fan.

Good girl, Krista!!!

I have a ceiling fan in the "dining room" (which hasn't been a dining room in years.) It's basically Krista's area now with the Katris structure, cat trees, toys, and now her 4th litter box. On top of the organizer (which is storage for more cat gear like toys, food, pee pads, and other cat stuff), I have a box fan. I'm trying to blow that wind chill air forward to the front of the big room. I have the Dyson in the front room blowing at a 5 or 6 (too high and it will be too loud in that room) and the one in the office pointing directly at me also currently at 6 (but it will probably go to 7 by afternoon.) On top of all of that, I have the exhaust fan in the bathroom going so it will pull hot air up and out of the apartment. The bathroom will probably end up being the coolest room in the apartment. Maybe as the bathroom cools, the hot air will migrate towards the bathroom, and slowly, that fan in the ceiling, the only way hot air is escaping at the moment, will gradually vent out as much heat as it can. Go little bathroom fan, go!

Only today and tomorrow left in this heat streak. It should be much more manageable this weekend.

The small, hard-surface-floored rooms tend to be the coolest here, too. We have this cavernous living room that never gets that cool (or warm, in winter) even with the HVAC. When the did the ductwork, I think they put too few, and too small, vents in there, also in the master bedroom which is large. I have a white roof (comp shingle) and I had this pure white coating put on it, which helps a lot to keep the house cool. Everyone who visits remarks on that. And they all have dark-colored roofs. I've read articles on how places where the dwellings have white roofs do this to keep cooler, and it really does work. But it still gets hot down here in la-la land, so I'm so glad my roomies want the AC. I have a big box fan, too, which I should get out and use. We have exhaust over the stove, which also helps.

I have an apartment. Not much I can do about its roof. I'm not sure if it's better to be bottom floor where I am or top floor which may (but probably doesn't) have vaulted ceilings. If they don't have vaulted ceilings, then it's clearly better to be on the ground floor. It's better anyway just for carrying things in and out of the apartment. The modest improvement in deck privacy isn't worth the additional rising heat from the unit below.

Since heat rises, the ground floor is better and yeah, much easier to carry stuff to and from! I had a first-floor apartment that I loved, but it was a hassle carrying stuff. And moving.

This heat. Again. ☀😿

I actually went out in it over lunch. It’s definitely far more miserable outside than indoors. But I don’t think Krista likes that the front room is a dark, loud cave with the blinds drawn and all the fans going.

The cats here LOVE the vitreous china and tile. *Maryam in sink; Maryam with Rani looking on; Sammi and Sahra in the shower; Sammi in the shower and Rani in the hall* All of them are at the Bridge now.

I wish Krista would occupy the sink or the bathtub. She likes that bit of floor outside the office. I have an Arctic Air that I might put down there for her tomorrow. We're almost done with today.

But I think she also just wants to stare me down in the hopes that I give in and feed her.

She's definitely hungry tonight. She's been doing laps between that spot and the filling station. And singing her feed me song all the while. I need her to wait at least another five minutes. If we start too soon, she'll be doing this too soon before second dinner.

💩👍

The other reason why I preferred to wait her out.

Because if she's going to go all bonus butt, I'd rather she do it before she stuffs her face.

Alright, baby! Quit yer yelling! Let's do this! 🐽🐽🐽

I know! They'll keep moving it up incrementally until we're washing a dish and filling it, washing a dish and filling it, 24/7-365!

I've already moved up her schedule by 30 minutes with shelter in place. If you go by the light schedule which I haven't reprogrammed, her meals are supposed to be 6, 9, afternoon feeders, 7, 10, and overnight feeders. But since I'm home all the time now, and she's getting extra steroid munchies meals, it's now 5, 8, 12, 3, 6, 9, 12:30ish (trying to get that to 1 but she's not having it), overnight feeder.

Last night, because it was too hot to sleep, after I put out her 12:30am and 3am feeder meals, I was still awake (watching Korean Baseball because it seems increasingly unlikely that MLB will happen this year), I got to see her get impatient with her 3 am feeder. It had only been 90 minutes since her "midnight" meal. She nosed around it, pushing it, seeing if she could work out how to open it. Then of course she comes back on to the bed trying to convince me to pop it early for her.

I think the B-12 is working out well for her and maybe we can try tapering the pred next month if the carpet bombs and poop pukes go away. That seems to be the trend since we got through a dosing day and a day after without any incidents other than a orderly bonus poop last night without any carpet action.

She's also getting adorably more aggressive on the counters during meal preps. Where before she used to mostly respect the leg I lift and park on the counter to both take pressure off my back and give me a leverage platform to hold her back. She would put her front paws on my leg but I could usually hold her to that. Now she climbs past my leg and gets right into my work area trying to eat the food off the plate as I'm plating it and getting her face into the fish flakes bag as I'm trying to make her pred bites. She's clearly not behaving like a cat with cancer. Except her ravenous appetite absent any weight gain.

Wow, so many of us are having bad backs these days! That's something I'd really love to see go away.
Sounds like a great feeding schedule -- for Krista, at least :insertevillaugh: and it sounds like it's helping her -- and you -- a lot!

I'm not getting enough sleep and it's so hard to wake for that "midnight meal" if I did manage to fall asleep after second dinner. If we ever do return to offices again, midnight meal, lunch, and 3 pm snack will go in feeders.

My back is postural. My parents used to ask me, "when are you going to get surgery for your back?" And my response is always, when it's something that needs surgery. Fortunately, it's not any kind of nerve impingement. It's just lazy posture. I think next month when the dust settles from my tax bill and my severance money comes in, I'll buy a better office chair. When I'm getting more sleep, I'll be more rested in the morning to do yoga and/or core work.

We had double-ended carpet campaigns tonight. 💩🤮🤦‍♂️😿

Maybe she’s at the outer edge of this dose. Tomorrow is a new dose.

Wishing for a better day today!
I doubled her psyllium dose in 2nd dinner and 2nd breakfast hoping she'll go back to twice a day pooping. So we could have twice the disaster tonight if we don't have a poop sooner than later.
