Jon's been married since 1989 to his high school sweetheart, however, before she was "his", she was "Bobby's Girl". Here's a demo of a song he wrote about her back then.

"I'd give you my ring, I'd fill you with promises
I'd give you anything you want
If you told me that we could be more than friends
Run with me baby, on a magic carpet ride

Well live for tomorrow, everything'll be alright
'Cause it don't matter what they say
She's Bobby's girl, Johnny, you're playing with dynamite
She's Bobby's girl, close the door baby, it'll be alright
Come on, lets go

When they say she's Bobby's girl, Johnny, you're playing with dynamite
She's Bobby's girl, close the door honey, it'll be alright now

She's Bobby's girl, come on baby, come with me tonight
She's Bobby's girl, close the door baby, it'll be alright now"

rubysmama rubysmama --That's so cool. Thanks for the Jon & Dorothea songs. Can you post the icons again when you get the chance please. I deleted them from my favorites. ;)

I can relate to this "Are we or aren't we?" dance. At least that's what the song means to me, who knows what Dave meant by it:

We look at each other
Wondering what the other is thinking
But we never say a thing
These crimes between us grow deeper

Ants Marching by Dave Matthews

Although in 2005 my Dad passed away on May 30th (the real Memorial Day and not observed) I'm honoring his memory today with playing a lot of the artists and songs that he liked. One is Chet Atkins.

The other is The Kingston Trio

(as I mentioned above relating my meeting with Mick Jagger) and finally Jim Reeves

Even the cats (the ones that are remaining that is) are listening to it outside as Dad liked spending his time outside 99% of the day after he retired. Also not mentioned was that my Dad was in the Army WWII stationed in Italy. He was injured, spent 90 days in the hospital. Most of his right arm was tore off by a shell and he had a purple heart.

When I find out about the deaths of my parents I went into the kitchen and was lighting some candles. Somehow the tablecloth caught fire and I went and sat down on the sofa in the living room watching it burn.
Eventually I told my husband "you should call the fire department". <3
