Some people (and sensitive cats) might have an issue with the wheat gluten and artificial flavors and soy flour. Is this Fancy Feast?

I personally don't like unspecified meat. Especially if this condition is diet related. First have him through the surgery you mentioned in your previous thread. Then discuss any diet changes with your vet if they are required.

I'm not a fan of vague categories like "meat by-products" and "natural and artificial flavors" because a.) I can't confirm 100% what's in those ingredients and one of my cats has allergies and b.) they can indicate lower quality than named ingredients like chicken, turkey, beef, etc. Maybe try the Fancy Feast Gourmet Naturals? Looks like they list meat before a broth and don't have wheat gluten or soy. Here's a few examples:

- Fancy Feast Gourmet Naturals White Meat Chicken Recipe Pate Canned Cat Food, 3-oz, case of 12 - Chewy.com

Looks like they have some fish as filler which isn't great for cats in large quantities, but it's fairly far down the ingredient list and I'd prefer that to wheat or soy. You'll have to look at calorie counts for them to see which type works best for your cat since it seems like he might need a higher calorie food if he was losing weight. I definitely second talking to your vet before any changes, though, since he has some special circumstances!

You could try mixing it with the other food.

How did the surgery go? Did they find anything like mega colon?
The procedure went fine she said...She said she got alot of poop to come out..but I dont understand how he could have been full of poop when he was going to poop twice daily..she explained it..but it dont make any sense but long as hes good now...and she said she did a second xray after the procedure and he looked good..but said there was a bit of swelling I guess she meant around or near the colon area...She said it should go down..it could be just from the procedure..it wasnt alot but some...and if it dont go down ...that its probably megacolon...But at this point she does not see him having megacolon..but if this happens again...and he needs another procedure..then it's probably gonna be megacolon...at that point...

I agree with the ingredients..not too good..been feeding him AJ...Im going to continue try and keep him away from FF cause he hasn't been eating it...in a long time...Cause like you said I want to feed him what I know is in his food to the best of my ability...She recently gave me an appetite stimulant..So im gonna try some Dave's...but slowly...And see how that goes..and hopefully can give him a small variety of the AJ..And the Dave's...Cause with the appetite stimulant...I may have a better chance of keeping him away from the FF...Cause like I said its been along time since hes eat FF

T tsprengel has made some excellent points.

This is exactly why I don't like mystery ingredients. You never know for sure where the protein is coming from. It's especially important to know what you are feeding your pet if they have a digestive issue because you have a better chance of narrowing down the root cause of the problem.

Glad to hear the surgery went well.
