Just checking in! Hugs have been bouncing around all over the place!! Catch!
I've tried to do a search for posts you may have shared about your process with Gracie and Ziggy and Mooshoo - do you have a thread I can check? How are YOU faring with your intros? What wonderful videos Buffster7 !! They are so funny. They look so very good together, I'm glad things have settled down. It was good to get an update.
We are coping here.
Stay healthy and well!
I know! And I think that Zylkene is partly responsible. It does affect Charlie strangely - he gets a little wild-eyed and some ghosting behavior with it. If that protein binds to the same receptors as Xanax and has the same effects, then maybe he's just more sensitive to it? When he gets a little wild-eyed, I almost get the impression that the dose is just 'kicking in' and he feels a little weird. But...it does make him nicer, if a little weird.Fin wants to love and play and then Charlie gives him what he wants later. Okay, you try to sleep and i’ll Chase your tail!!
I had to laugh out loud when I read that! Ohhhhhh....if you do, you will certainly have to give us the play-by-play every step of the way. I don't think I would do it again, but Pearl99 sure seems to be having a lot of luck!It almost makes me think about getting a feline sibling Ruby.
Oh I haven't posted any threads, but here goes- loooong post:I've tried to do a search for posts you may have shared about your process with Gracie and Ziggy and Mooshoo - do you have a thread I can check? How are YOU faring with your intros?
Oh my word, what a wonderful update! You must have the magic touch, because your introductions appear to be going so smoothly and low-drama! I mean, a little side-lying-hissing under a gate, how laid-back can a hiss be?!I will try to post a little video of Gracie's bedtime conversations, she talks when I've climbed in the bed to tell me all about things
Thanks! Yes I adore cats. It rubbed off on my daughter, she is a crazy cat lady too. They are so cool and complex, and loving in very gentle subtle ways.Oh my word, what a wonderful update! And that video is absolutely adorable!! What a sweet little chatter she has. I am SO glad you rescued her from the shelter - she deserves to be in a warm bed with her human at night.
It's funny the Moo seems to be the most reticent one? Is that a tux thing? I've heard that tuxedos are some with the most cattitude? I'm not sure if that's true, but I can believe it with my two.
It makes me so happy to see your successes with your four. Gives me hope that it CAN be done for future reference - far, far future reference. Now that I have had the pleasure of sharing life with cats, I will always have cats. It'll just be a very long time before I try to do this again - may my boys live very long lives.
Love you ladies here - thanks for sharing in all the joys and cheering on through the rough spots!
OH MY WORD!! My eyes got huge as I read this - that sounds like PROGRESS!!!Buffster7 , I had a "cat convention" tonight, a first. I was in Ziggy's room playing with and brushing her (gates up in the doorway) and Waffles came down to observe what was going on.
Then Moo beside Waffs, and Gracie came to the doorway to my bedroom about 3 feet from doorway of Ziggy's room.
They all just sat and looked around at each other within 4 feet. (Ziggy and I were at her room's doorway.)
This lasted about 15 minutes. Had treats in my pockets and I passed them out, Moo did a little growling but they just looked around and at each other.
Couldn't believe it. We are coming along.
Then one by one they went on with their evening.
She HAS done a great job! I was thinking that the peaceful transition has to be due in part to her 'contribution' of keeping things calm and steady for them. Very well done!Cat conventions are always fun. I love it when they act as though they’ve never had a cross word and the human is delusional to think anything was amiss to begin with. “Why wouldn’t we sit her together Hooman?”
pearl99 Great job!

And then they nonchalantly just get on with their evening, leaving you to pick up your jaw off the floor like NBD. CATS!!!
I am so so happy for you and for the peace that seems to preside, for the most part. What a smooth transition this has been for you - and I love it! Thanks for the update - what a great way to wrap up my night, with a little feel-good!

pearl99 Great job!
Well I wish I knew how to have Ziggy not chase Waffles. I'm intervening but not sure how to help it stop other than intervening, make things positive, time, play, distraction and all that. If any suggestions! But then it's only been 2 months so we are very early. She HAS done a great job!
