We are still on quarantine, although there have been no new cases (in the building) since last Thursday!!!!!
However, there are 2 staff members who have had positive test. One I know of is a mild case.

Management is meeting with the Department of Public Health this week. I do not expect them to lift the quarantine. Massachusetts is expected to peak either this week or next. We do not need to get out and then have to begin this all over. We have been the hot spot in the city. My city has a lot of cases.

The staff is doing all they can for us. I know this is locally, State and Federally mandated; but, they re really doing a lot to keep our spirits up and try to keep things 'slightly' normal. We get 2 meals a day---one for supper and one for lunch the next day. On Fridays they are giving up 3 meals, for the week-end.

There is a limited grocery list. They are delivering mail and packages to our door, also picking up our mail .. We have weekly laundry services~~ free. They are piking up our trash, daily.

They give a daily 'wellness' phone call. You can express any concerns then, and they will really try to help out.

Last week, the staff walked around the building, waving, carrying signs which read, We Miss You, We All You.. cheering us on.

Today, the staff went around the building, stopping on each side, with a speaker, a guitar player, singing songs to us.. It was so sweet. They caught it on TV also.. It was so nice. Throwing kisses, waving while singing.. This is something they are doing on their own.. I am so glad I am living here.

We get daily or every other day updates about things. A newsletter also, and some word search books, and a puzzle.

They are trying.

I am not accomplishing anything during the day, except for creating a huge Butt from sitting on it. And phone-iris, from being on it so much.

Geoffrey is getting fat!!! He is getting more spoiled. He yells at me constantly to play. I play, then he walks away!! Comes back and expects me to continue to play!!! OMG--so spoiled.. Yes, he tells me each time when he uses the litter box... He is extremely vocal.

A good friend's sister was found dead this morning. Yup, She had a back ache yesterday, vomited, stayed downstairs last night. Her husband came down this morning and found her. They said it was not CoVid-19. I am thinking heart attack. There is no qutopsy because they are full from the CV. If they wanted a private autopsy, they would have to pay $10,000!!!
She was only 56 years old. I have been on the phone all day with my friend. I feels so bad for her. Her husband has a very rare form of dementia. Her sister was her 'rock'.. I worry about my friend. Because of CV, I cannot go over to comfort her. There will be no funeral. She is being cremated, something she did not want, because of CV... they will have the entire wake, funeral after CV leaves...

I feel so bad for my friend. I really do.. keep her and her husband in your thoughts...please...

No new cases is very good. Maybe your building is safe as far as new illness goes. I heard a doctor on the news saying that we will probably be on some type of public health limitations for as much as a year, basically until we have a vaccine and enough of it produced to vaccinate everyone that can be vaccinated. There are and will always be a few people who cannot be vaccinated.

Very heartening about all of the things people are doing to be thoughtful and helpful. And hey, so you both get a little "prosPURRous." SO?:redheartpump::redcat::hangin::redheartpump:

Heartfelt condolences for your friend, and her sister's husband. Beliefs differ, of course, but I hope and pray they will be able to find comfort in time from happy and cherished memories of their loved one, and to know that she is in a far better place now, in Perfect Love. We all know that things are very far from normal and very far from how we would want them to be, in passing as in everything else. I think of this as a world war. This helps me to wrap my mind around a lot of what is happening. I hope she went quickly and painlessly. Isn't that what we would all want, for ourselves and our loved ones? It is far better than a lingering and/or painful illness.
May she be blessed with Peace. :vibes:

I was reading some Corona story yesterday, sorry don’t recall which news website but the expert said that this coming week is critical and that individuals should not go to stores or pharmacies unless it was absolutely critical. I know locally our new cases are still climbing so a I am going to attempt to heed that advice. The only think I really need is deodorant but since I live alone, hey, I will just need to smell.

Instead of going out I am going to rearrange the pantry, figure out some meal plans and maybe make some frozen meals.
I read the same thing

We had to go to Target to pick up a script for Rick this morning (we wore masks). There's a "bouncer" there, making sure that people go in as people go out, but it was early enough that there was no line. I did score Bounty paper towels, an 8-roll package. Whew! There was toilet paper, too, but we didn't need it, so we didn't buy it.

On to Giant; you enter through one door and exit through another door. Very little in the way of frozen vegetables, cereal really picked through, little in the way of pasta, little in the way of cans of vegetables, ice cream has been picked through. No flour, not one bag. I have a $10 coupon from King Arthur that I may use to order flour. Even cat food has been picked. But we found enough food for the cats and there's even spring water in gallon jugs. We were allowed two gallons of water.

And then to Lowes for Rick to get more stuff for his raised garden beds. Lowes has splash guards and designated 6-feet distancing. He got his stuff, I got a planter for my corn plant in the shed. Brought everything home, disinfected the bags, then disinfected each item with wipes. Disinfected the kitchen counters, washed my hands and took my clothes off to launder. We tried to stay as safe as we could.

I did not see any small children in any of the stores. None. Plenty of people wearing masks, but also plenty of people who don't. Even older people weren't wearing them. We'll get through this, guys. Honest, we will.

Oh! The most important thing! I got a bag of peanut M & Ms! Life is good!

Well, no matter where you live, Winchester Winchester , the reason the flour is gone is my FA. He texted me on the weekend to show me the apple pie he made "from scratch" and the macarons he also made (unsure if "from scratch" or not. He didn't say. I'm assuming the best) :flail:This guy is incredible. In addition to steering me through the rough waters of life for quite awhile now, he's also an amazing baker! He promises delivery in future on some of these amazing baked goods.
Don't forget online shopping and delivery of cat supplies. I can get by on fumes, but cat stuff I CANNOT DO WITHOUT.

I didn’t plan to shop this week but after finding I was totally out of deodorant and my travel size had disintegrated I just had to go buy some. So I went to a small chain upscale store, Byerlys, near my moms house. Got my deodorant, a few frozen meals, a double pack of Clorox wipes 😄 and the last thing I needed, spaghetti pasta, The shelves were bare of the expensive stuff but the 99 cent creamette brand which I like was fully stocked. I guess it helps to shop where people have better taste than me. They also had a great self checkout area where a gloved cashier wiped down the scale and credit card area and opened a bag for you after each customer.

I like Creamette, too, and I am beyond frugal. My store caters to "high end" customers and I'm definitely not that, especially with the government bleeding me dry; so I sometimes have good luck, too. ;):hangin:

I'm going to be having to do the leave home thing tomorrow. I never liked shopping and leaving the house for 64 years and more so now. What used to be 20 minutes in and out of store and back home is now 90 minutes with the disinfecting and all. Ugh

I finally got my first unemployment payment this morning! This makes me happy and sad at the same time. I wont have to use (as much of) my savings to keep my household running, but the simple fact that I'm on EI sucks. It looks like I'll be getting about 2000 a month. So I'm going tally up all my current expenses to see what I can do to keep our expenses to a minimum. We've always lived well within our means, and have saved a decent chunk for emergencies and "wants", but I really want to keep my savings for my wants....My husband owns a small business and it seems like help for business owners sucks. IF my husband gets anything, he probably will have to use it to keep the business going rather than our household, so the business doesn't accrue too much debt that will be difficult to pay back. So it's just me and my EI...

~ Ha ... I have had too much ice cream , nuts & coffee !! 🍦☕

~ Same thing here. Target is doing a good job sanitizing stores and staying open for customers. 👍

🙏💕 We are doing well here in California - as we are in America. People are being cautious and helping one another. Lots of volunteers and also blood drives as there is a need. China & Europe are not so lucky.

~ Peace ... 🍃

The ladies in town are making masks and mailing them all over. Some to friends and family, some have an Etsy business or whatever. One lady said she's done 200 of them so far and her hands hurt. She gave me one. . .it's really nice, has a pocket for a filter and everything. So I think we'll be well-masked. . .

Holy moly

:jawdrop::jawdrop:

'Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter and payment app Square, has said he will donate $1bn (£810m) towards efforts to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Mr Dorsey, the donation represented approximately 28% of his wealth.'

Twitter boss pledges $1bn for coronavirus relief

Astonishing to think that the huge amount of money is only just over a quarter of his overall worth..

Isn’t it crazy? There’s been a lot of upset I’ve read too about wealthy people who are donating what seems like a lot but is a minuscule amount of their actual wealth. The Facebook guy comes to mind. People are saying it’ll bring about discussions about income inequality in the US but probably not...
