We are still on quarantine, although there have been no new cases (in the building) since last Thursday!!!!!
However, there are 2 staff members who have had positive test. One I know of is a mild case.
Management is meeting with the Department of Public Health this week. I do not expect them to lift the quarantine. Massachusetts is expected to peak either this week or next. We do not need to get out and then have to begin this all over. We have been the hot spot in the city. My city has a lot of cases.
The staff is doing all they can for us. I know this is locally, State and Federally mandated; but, they re really doing a lot to keep our spirits up and try to keep things 'slightly' normal. We get 2 meals a day---one for supper and one for lunch the next day. On Fridays they are giving up 3 meals, for the week-end.
There is a limited grocery list. They are delivering mail and packages to our door, also picking up our mail .. We have weekly laundry services~~ free. They are piking up our trash, daily.
They give a daily 'wellness' phone call. You can express any concerns then, and they will really try to help out.
Last week, the staff walked around the building, waving, carrying signs which read, We Miss You, We All You.. cheering us on.
Today, the staff went around the building, stopping on each side, with a speaker, a guitar player, singing songs to us.. It was so sweet. They caught it on TV also.. It was so nice. Throwing kisses, waving while singing.. This is something they are doing on their own.. I am so glad I am living here.
We get daily or every other day updates about things. A newsletter also, and some word search books, and a puzzle.
They are trying.
I am not accomplishing anything during the day, except for creating a huge Butt from sitting on it. And phone-iris, from being on it so much.
Geoffrey is getting fat!!! He is getting more spoiled. He yells at me constantly to play. I play, then he walks away!! Comes back and expects me to continue to play!!! OMG--so spoiled.. Yes, he tells me each time when he uses the litter box... He is extremely vocal.
A good friend's sister was found dead this morning. Yup, She had a back ache yesterday, vomited, stayed downstairs last night. Her husband came down this morning and found her. They said it was not CoVid-19. I am thinking heart attack. There is no qutopsy because they are full from the CV. If they wanted a private autopsy, they would have to pay $10,000!!!
She was only 56 years old. I have been on the phone all day with my friend. I feels so bad for her. Her husband has a very rare form of dementia. Her sister was her 'rock'.. I worry about my friend. Because of CV, I cannot go over to comfort her. There will be no funeral. She is being cremated, something she did not want, because of CV... they will have the entire wake, funeral after CV leaves...
I feel so bad for my friend. I really do.. keep her and her husband in your thoughts...please...
