Not much going on around here today. Rick got up with the girls, has a bad sinus headache, so was still flopped on the couch when I got up around 8:30. We spent a good hour, talking about the virus, complaining about Trump's handling of said virus, talking about Gov Cuomo and Gov Wolf, etc. While drinking our coffee. He's hanging out on his iPad while deciding if he wants to go for a walk. I'm back here, but need to get out to the shed. FWIW, I've been walking for a couple of weeks again and actually getting to my 10,000 step-a-day goal, more often than not. On good days, I walk around our property outside, simply to get some floors in, too.
  • Cancelled our trash collector and started with somebody new. Too much trouble with the old collector and we're tired of constantly calling them because they forgot to pick our stuff up.
  • Scoop the boxes, then do a quick vacuum. I'm starting to vacuum pretty much every day now. Keeps the cat hair and dander at semi-bay anyway. I've had a dry, scratchy throat now for a couple of weeks and we think it's because the air in the house is so dry. I can't wait to open the windows.
  • Do some stuff in the shed this afternoon.

This morning I have just started making yogurt in my Instapot. Only to realize I now have no milk in the house.

So either I drink my coffee black for the next couple of days before going to the IGA as planned on Thursday. Or go today. In which case I would get everything (not much) I was going to buy on Thursday.

Got the book review for A History of Zinnias up on my website last night. Want to complete BelleWood in Bloom for March before the end of the month (ha!) so when tomorrow rolls around I can start the new month with a clean conscience.

I have been sitting here all morning feeling sad watching two of my neighbors having trees cut down. A total of five trees and all are at least sixty years old. A couple were dying but the others where completely healthy, just in the way. I feel bad for the squirrels and other creatures that have lost their habitat.

The world we live in now where going shopping ranks right up there in danger like zip lining or jumping out of a plane. Safe shopping, C catapault

I did go to the IGA. Along with 1/2 gallon of whole milk I got a pound of butter (still priced at $2.99 / pound and I have used half of a pound I pulled from the freezer prepps.) With all the talk of chicken schnitzel I bought a package of thin sliced chicken breast. Pounded 2 of the four slices, dusted with flour, beaten egg, bread crumbs. Fork tender. Sides were basmati rice and fresh broccoli. Himself had a chocolate chip cookie. I'll have vanilla ice cream with strawberry coulis.

But best of all - they had some boxes of disposable gloves, 100 / box. Selling at cost to anyone who wants a box. $4 / box.Good deal Lucille!

Himself had a chocolate chip cookie
Have you seen that Chips Ahoy cookies has Hershey's, and another variety has Reese's? I need to try this

Three more things; exercise, some latchhook, and whipped up a South Beach diet recipe, --strawberries milk and yogurt in a blender after supper.

I wouldn't know about that, Furballsmom Furballsmom I bake the cookies, making half of the Toll house recipe on the chocolate morsels bag. Bake as extra large size cookies, which makes 9 cookies.

A while ago I made a batch of oatmeal craisin pecan cookies. Nice, Himself said, but the chocolate chip are better. Same comment for a chocolate cookie recipe with Andes bits that I developed. So why bother. I've made so many batches that I have the chocolate chip cookies recipe memorised. He's happy. And I'll have vanilla ice cream with strawberry coulis.

Winchester Winchester (AKA Goddess of Bread, ;)) Oh, the dry air is scandalous! My hair is like straw and my skin as well.
Time for an all night hand treatment with Vaseline.

  • Boxes
  • Tea
  • Washing a small load of colored clothes. Caylee is not coming in today. It's chilly and damp but tomorrow it's supposed to be in the 50s and sunny. I think it's time for a walk.

There is nothing better than Toll House Cookies! Store brought cookies don't even come close.

I love, love, love homemade chocolate chip cookies! Best cookie ever!

My turn to get up with the girls this morning. It's a dreary day, very cloudy and they're calling for rain again.
  • Breakfast for the girls, then I made breakfast for Rick and me. It was kind of like a Perkins breakfast again, with potatoes, scrambled eggs, and bacon. Toast with apple butter. And our coffee. Good stuff! He loves Perkins breakfast potatoes; I can't get mine to match theirs, but that's OK. I raised the shed blinds and need to scoop boxes. The dishwasher is running as I type.
  • Not much going on. I vacuumed and did a good swiffer in the shed yesterday and am arranging books today.
  • Started to binge Highlander, an old early 1990s tv show with Adrian Paul. I doubt I'll finish it.
  • Wipe down kitchen and bathroom
And that will be my day.

1. Find someone far away to take the cats forever so they don't die of starvation (although not sure how or who)
2. Settle my bills
3. Get these cams in order and placed properly

Packaged and dropped off a couple of Etsy orders at the post office and then went out for a walk with my new walking stick. I have never used (or made ) one before so I wasn’t certain how it would feel walking with it but I really liked it. I felt steadier and it gave my arms just a little workout. And I didn’t have to worry about dogs anymore. This afternoon I am going to get some sewing done for the shop.

Three things I did today:

- Laundry
- Backed up photos from my phone onto my laptop and an external hard drive, because I'm like that
- Watched the final episode of Big Brother Canada 8 two months early. I don't watch a lot of TV, but it is one of my shows, and the show had to finish early due to the coronavirus outbreak. Filming had started on February 29 and the season was due to end on May 21. They had to end production early last Tuesday. There was no winner (which, as far as I know, has never happened in any version of Big Brother ever) and the $100K prize money went to a coronavirus relief charity.

...with the cats...
today i'll wash the dishes, and scoop the litter boxes. i'll make liters of soda. and i'll spend some time with my budget.

yesterday some friends dropped by with some apples, oranges, potatoes, three loaves of bread, and a couple packages of julienned ham (will do very nicely in chef salad). i had a one pound package of SAF instant yeast, a canister of Temptation cat treats, and a copy of my 'go to' bread machine bread recipe to give them. it was nice to see them, even keeping a safe physical distancing.

  • Let Cal out for her morning walk-about. She wasn't out for long. Now she's sleeping beside me on her pile of throws. There are four of them so her bed is nice and soft and she's making those lovely sweet sounds. I received a letter from Amazon yesterday telling me they noticed I haven't watched anything on Prime yet. Maybe I'll see if there is anything I like. I will have to watch on my laptop. Maybe a walk today as temps are supposed to be in the 50s.
