Hello and Happy Sunday!!

For the sake of this question, you have to legally change your first name and use it.
People have to refer to you as that new name. What would you change yours to?
You can have numerous choices.

You know, I have always liked my name and would choose it again, but if I HAD to I would change it to either Isabella or Lia.

I have always liked the name "Jem" but I see someone here already has that name. I like it because of "Jem" from "To Kill A Mockingbird".

The one thing I don't like about people naming their children is changing the spelling to make it 'different'. Like Dihann for mine, or the MANY different spellings of names I have seen. It dooms that poor child to forever correct people on the spelling, EVERY SINGLE TIME during their life. It is excruciating for the shy ones, and annoying all the way around.....

I can't stand that because when the child is older others will probably
think their parents are stupid. That whole-change-the-spelling-to
something-unique is unfortunate.

Nellie. Legally I was named after my two grandmothers, Nellie and Marie. But my mother (ugh) thought Nellie Marie was too hillbilly (grandparents lived in the Ozarks) so I wound up with a variation of that name. I went through school fighting the teachers that Maryellen is the way my name is on my birth certificate.

I really like my name as it is now, but I also really like the name Jean. There's something about it that is just so wise and knowing. It's my grandmother's middle name. I'm trying to talk B into incorporating it into a future kiddo's name....I'm very big on keeping family names!

I love my name but if I had to change it to something else, it would be Amethyst or Anne.

Names are one of my favorite topics to discuss. If I had to change my name, I'd probably go with Eva, which was my great grandma's name. I could also see myself going with Ada because that has been a favorite name of mine for years.

If not Elphaba, which is my nickname of sorts, I would like Verity, Adelaide or Phryne.

I wanted my name to be Rachel when I was a kid. Guess what decade I was born in?

But now; I really don't know. I still have a few girl names I love; but I don't see them for me. Those are Emelia, Annalise and Naomi.

I always liked Eleanor or Claire, or something alternatively something with a less 'feminine' girly connotation. Morgan (because I love the cars) or Peyton. Recently I've been stuck on Cassandra though as that's my D&D characters name (I know, I know.)

When I was younger it would have been Elizabeth because I had two friends with that name and wanted to be part of the trio. Now I'm not sure. I don't love my first name, but it'd be weird to change. Maybe I'd just change it to Larissa so I could still go by Lari for short.
