C catluvs How is Tuck doing?
He’s doing a lot better. He’s peeing frequently but fairly normal amounts and doesn’t seem to be in much pain anymore. Finally started to play and act like his old self. Hopefully it stays this way, I ordered the corn silk and d mannose, and am gonna ask about Gabapentin but only if I don’t have to bring him in for another vet visit to get it, just because I think the stress is what triggered it all

This is good news! I agree about not taking him back to the vet. I would just ask for the gabapentin if needed. Are you going to look into anxiety meds?
Start the d mannose and cornsilk as soon as they arrive and continue using both for 4-6 weeks. Keep us updated here too!

Hi guys! Thank you for the love. Things have been a whole lot better this month with everything. Tuck is peeing fine, and they’re not fighting AS much, definitely no big huge brawls in a while (knock on wood!). When they start fighting I just separate them, even though Cc does still scratch at the carpet. Still strictly monitoring window time so I think that helps a lot. As time goes on, Cc is having less extreme episodes like attacking Tuck and Lo when they’re coming out of the litter box. She isn’t doing that anymore. All in all things are looking up. Hope they stay that way!

This thread is a ride! So glad things have been getting better for you and your kitties! I have heard of people introducing sounds slowly to get a sensitive cat desensitized.... Perhaps to continue to improve CC's redirected aggression, you could practice introducing new sounds? I think the person I saw would produce the sound, then give a treat so that the cat would associate the sounds with something good! Best wished to you and all of your fur babies!

C catluvs Are things still happily going forward? How are kitties and you doing?
Well, things were progressing and then the other day when I was playing with them, Cc went too hard to catch the feather, hit the chair, startled Tuck and Lo who started running, and then Cc attacked and it turned into another huge brawl. She really got my foot/leg that already has scars on it from another attack. It’s so unpredicatable, because I play with them twice (or more) a day... but one little wrong move and hell breaks loose. I can’t separate them and play because they can hear what I’m doing from all bedrooms and then they savagely attack the carpet wanting out to play too. Hopefully this episode will bounce back quicker to normal than last time and won’t make everything progressively worse. I’m not sure when I’ll ever be able to buy a house now with everything going on in the world, so I don’t know when I can make her her own space just in case I have to permanently separate her. I don’t really know, all I know is although I’m the biggest animal lover on the planet, and I’ve loved cats my whole life, I don’t think I’ll have another cat again. Or a pet, even. That sounds bad but it’s just the way it’s affected me. But I’m trying to stay positive and I’ll do whatever is right to keep the peace and do what I can. Thanks guys ♥

You don’t want to get between two fighting cats. Bang on a tin pan or get a party horn to blow or find another safe way to make noise to startle them . That should stop the fight and have both running.

I don’t get between them, I definitely learned my lesson with that long ago, lol. If I’m anywhere near she attacks, even if I stand really still. I’ve tried making a distraction with noise and it just escalated it even worse. I have to get away and just stand on a chair, wait until they’re at least stalled with attacking each other (briefly, while they’re howling and yowling up a storm) and then start talking really gently, get the treat bag and attempt to maneuver her into a room by herself (during which I’ll probably get attacked again, even if I walk really slow). Once I get her in a room Tuck and Lo usually won’t fight anymore but then I’ll separate them as well for a while. I have some nasty smelling medicine left, I’ll put that on a plate and slip it under the door. The smell seems to distract her while she’s in there and then I’ll let her out after a couple hours. While Tuck and Lo are still by themselves, I’ll let her roam around and then slowly introduce them all one at a time. Sometimes it works better than other times. I’ve exhausted all ideas and methods. The aftermath of this one wasn’t as bad as the series of brawls that happened over winter though, so I guess that’s a positive.
