I dearly loved X-Files. I think it's still my favorite show ever (with Supernatural a very close second). And that's why I started to watch Californication. But no. Just no. I'm not a prude; I simply got tired of all those boobs flopping around. I'll see if I can find Mad Men on Prime or Hulu. I remember Rick liked it.

We're going to need salt for the water softener, something we didn't consider when we were thinking about hunkering down for a while. I think we have one bag left. *sigh* At some point, we're going to have to hit Lowes.

My turn to get up with the girls this morning. It's going to be another rainy/sleety kind of day. More rain than anything.
  • Breakfast for the girls, emptied the dishwasher, and am enjoying my morning coffee. I'll scoop in a bit and then raise the shed blinds.
  • I'm making hamburger buns this morning. The recipe is supposed to make eight, but it makes a ton more than that. I'm going to do six hamburger buns, and 4-5 hot dog buns. I can throw them into the freezer. (Rick mentioned that I haven't made garlic-parm rolls in a while. I don't have much in the way of Parmesan Reggiano; basically just a small rind that I'm saving for soup. I put it on the grocery list for whenever we go.)
  • Vacuum and swiffer in the shed this afternoon.
  • Trash night tonight

Mom wants to go outside and get some steps in and fresh air. Not sure how we're going to do the 6 foot rule as she needs to hold on to me or fall.

Do more cleaning in the basement if Mom and the cats let me that is

Nothing spectacular just binge on an ID Go show.

No, Mia6 Mia6 , I held off on the trip to the hardware store. My mom needed some coke so I did do a quick Target run though. And overall yesterday was one of those unexpectedly productive days. It was nice enough after my walk that I stayed out doors to pick up a few thing and ended up raking half of the back yard. Then In the afternoon wiping up in the kitchen turned into running the steam clean cycle in the oven and cleaning that out. And lastly I took care of an electrical problem in the basement, the story of that is in the positive thread.

I’m going to try to get a little more yard work done today and work on financial stuff.

  • Hunting for my cell phone. I don't use it that often and I always keep it turned off unless I'm sending a text. I have a land line but I need to find it and it's driving me nuts.:dunno::headscratch::think::gaah:

It was Rick's turn to get up with the girls, so I stayed in bed for a while. He gave them breakfast and just now scooped the boxes.
  • I'm sitting back here with my coffee. I'll have to raise the shed blinds in a bit.
  • Vacuum, swiffer, etc.
  • Work on some early spring weeding, if it gets warm enough this afternoon.

I haven't really done anything for the last week so last night I put together a to-do list for the next 4 days with 8 things to do each day. So today some of the things I did were: ran CLR through my dishwasher to clear up the insane amount of calcification left behind from the previous owners' not using a water softener (I had to do it 5 times and it still needs more work), hung up all of my clothes in my closet, cleaned the cat boxes, went for a walk in the wilderness area behind my house, looked through some books on gardening, unpacked a few boxes, watched some lectures for class, filled out a homestead form, and watched a lot of Netflix.

My sister called me mid morning to tell me they were taking my mom to the hospital. Likely nothing serious but because of her age and medical issues she usually ends of staying at least a day and often much longer. But just in case she was sent home and knowing when she doesn’t feel well she doesn’t do anything or take care of her cat I headed over for several hours of cleanup, trash removal, changing bed linens and litter box cleaning. We were trying to cut back to me cleaning every two weeks just to lessen her potential virus exposure but seeing how much garbage and laundry accumulates in two weeks, we will have to stick to once a week when she gets home. I also hauled out two loads of laundry to wash and get back to her.

They diagnosed her with an intestinal infection and are keeping her at least til tomorrow. I will go daily to care for her cat until she is out.

I am so sorry. I hope she's on the mend soon.💖

  • Yesterday I gave up on my hunt for my cell phone, called the company and they are sending me a new one, free of charge. I have no ******* idea where it could be and I think I accidently threw it out. Will arrive in 3 to 5 days. Need to wash some smalls, and some darks. If it warms up I may go for a walk.

susanm9006 susanm9006 Sending good wishes to your mom. I hope she feels better soon.
Mia6 Mia6 Even though I don't use my phone much at all anymore, I still keep it turned on, so that I can call myself if I need to find it. I'm glad they're going to send you a new phone....and free! Nice!

My turn to get up with the girls on this rainy Friday morning. Rick is snoring away back in bed with Mollipop sprawled out on my side of the bed.
  • Breakfast for the girls, made Rick's coffee, emptied the dishwasher and am sitting back here with my coffee. Rick's turn to scoop.
  • We want something sweet, so I'm going to make white chip and macadamia nut cookies this morning. I have the butter softening in the microwave (can't keep it on the counter because the cats will get into it)
  • Arrange books in the shed, water the plants, do a quick vacuum and swiffer. I may spend the afternoon out there, flopped on the couch with my nose in a book.

Walk this morning and then I filled and cleaned the bird feeders. I also put together and hung a nesting bag full of dryer lint, yard, string and fabric scraps for birds to pick at for their nests. And lastly I started on moms laundry which is so stinky I had to leave it in the garage where I used yard bags to sort it and will bring it into the house a bag at a time. If any of you had babies when we all used cloth diapers, the smell of the diaper pail is what her laundry smells like. Each load needs to be washed twice with special cleaners to remove the odor so three loads will take all day.

Removed the auxiliary heater from the greenhouse

Cleared three tubs of old dry stilt grass out of the garden and dumped in the woods

A variety of small matters not worth detailing here but that still needed to be done

I got up with the cats this morning; they were all in a fine mood (said sarcastically) and I told Rick I'd get up. He's still in bed. It's really raining outside again today.
  • Breakfast for the brats (and they were this morning), emptied the dishwasher, and am sitting back here with my coffee. Rick will scoop in a bit.
  • I'm thinking about making breakfast for us later on as I have some bacon that needs to be used. Maybe bacon with eggs over easy and thick slices of toast. Maybe some breakfast potatoes, depending on how lazy I feel.
You know what I'm gonna do today? Absolutely nothing. It's going to be a very rainy and dreary day. I'm going to spend the afternoon in the shed, flopped on the couch with my nose in a book. And maybe (OK, probably) napping. A good day for nothing.

Winchester Winchester We have rain as well, a few minutes ago, it was thundering and lightning, scared poor
Cal. I'm surprised she didn't run and hide, I guess she's not as afraid anymore. Your breakfast sounds
so good!

Had a Stouffer's meal for brekkie, fettuccine alfredo. Washed a load of darks and will dry them soon. It's
finally warm enough for a walk but way too rainy and I don't own a raincoat. Oh well, I have books and
DVDs and series.

Why does her laundry smell so badly? That's a lot of work for you. Is she home?💖

No she is still in the hospital. She uses incontinence products, doesn’t change them enough and drops them on the floor when she takes them off. Add in a little diarreah and you get the picture. She should be in a nursing home but won’t go and my sister won’t agree to forcing her.
