Please stay safe. :heartshape: And wish your son a speedy recovery.
'm sorry to hear about your son and I hope he will be OK.
Thank you. Although they won't let him come back to work yet, he is up walking around and eating today.
Apparently, everyone who came into contact with the patient is sick.

I found this lovely quote by Giuseppe Mazzini, one of the founders of modern Italy. I feel it could be applied to any country, but it seems especially meaningful for Italy right now.

"Country is not a mere zone of territory. The true country is the Idea to which it gives birth; it is the Thought of love, the sense of communion which unites in one all the sons of that territory."

A raccoon just hobbled into the stairwell at noon. I didn't see what happened but he/she seemed reluctant to leave the stairwell area. The eyes implored me to help and so I pulled the chair away from the wall of the stairwell with a long stick and the raccoon pulled him or herself up and looking back at me as if to say thank you limped off. I hope he/she will be ok. I didn't even notice the raccoon when I took the food outside and my foot was less than an inch away from his/her head. I didn't even look at the cam this time to see or I would have released the raccoon sooner.

Praying that this raccoon will be ok. His limp is the same as Treasure's was in October so maybe he got it stuck in something and took refuge under my chair. Nature isn't always kind though as I have observed from watching the bald eagle cams.

Thinking about you, too, and sending healing energy. An organization I follow just added a self-care page with tips (related to virus, but would be a good resource for distraction, hope, etc.)
Bless your heart for this!

On my mind; that that there are some truly incredible people here!!

Nothing much on my mind besides the new TV that Best Buy was supposed to deliver today by 8 pm. One minute to go and no TV. They did send an email that they will not install any appliances, just bring them to the door as of tomorrow but they were just supposed to bring it and put it on the floor in the box so I am bummed as I have waited all day, I tried to talk to someone via comp but the agent had not come on for over half an hour so I gave up. They will also close the store to the public, you can order stuff and then go to the store and they'll put it in your car, all starting tomorrow. But this is today and I was looking forward to have my grandson come over and hook it up for me once we got it on the stand which I can't do by myself although I can hook t up myself. Darn it, rats and all that other stuff.
Panthera:blackcat2: is still doing well, eating like a pig, snuggling with me, ornery to the other two, sneaking outside whenever he can just to look around and rolling on the sun-warmed cement on the patio - that boy sure loves the heat! Practically crawls into the space heater I turn on at night when I watch TV, the 40 inch TV that I was replacing with a 60 inch one. And now it isn't here as promised. Whine!:livid::argh::mad2::fuming:

I will go to the store this morning and see if I can button-hole some sales agent or anyone else there to find out about the TV. It was supposed to be free delivery for any TV over 50 inches and I doubt that this TV will even fit into my Subaru. So frustrating.
They did send an email on Friday saying they have suspended in-home installation and repairs, but this is neither, it is a straight delivery only. It was supposed to be brought inside and put on the floor in the box, but even if they just brought it to my door or even just curbside because of all this craziness with the virus, that would ok, I just want my TV,, I can wrangle it inside somehow. But there is just silence from their side.:fireblob::bat::livid::mad::angryfire::censored:

I think my toddler is rubbing off on me. I don't really leave the house under normal circumstances. Nowhere to go, nothing to do, blah blah blah. Well, not that I'm not supposed to leave the house, I have an urge to go somewhere. Get my hair cut or something. I mean, I'm not leaving, but it's a total toddler toddler attitude. I don't want to do something until I'm told not to.

On my mind is my aquariums... I just discovered that the floor beneath the aquarium is sagging and now I am extremely paranoid. Obviously, it's too heavy to move full of water but I don't know were else to put them in my living room. 😖
How big are your aquariums, I suppose you have more than one? Is it or are they on a stand with legs? If you have more than one perhaps you could put them in different places? If it is just one big one you might want to find out where the studs are in your floor, a stud finder can tell you that, you might borrow one from some guy who is into fixing things. Once you know where the studs are you can go to Home Depot or Lowe's or some place that sells lumber and buy some solid boards , at least 1 inch thick, no plywood, that are long enough to reach across where the studs are and the length of your tank or stand, then put the aquarium or the stand on top of those boards. In essence what you are doing is reenforcing the floor or if there is a stand with legs involved you would be distributing the weight over a larger area. Hope this helps.

I went to Best Buy to find out what happened to the TV. Seems I was supposed to get an email but did not. Looked everywhere including junk mail, no such luck.
There was a shortage of personnel on Sunday and not enough drivers to get mine delivered. Now I will have to wait until April 8 which is 2 1/2 weeks away, I am not happy.:(:mad2:

What a bummer. Sorry it happened like that. :hugs:

Goofed up my class time, and "arrived late" to my Zoom class for personal finance *sigh* I was so excited about class, too! It sounded really interesting, too, because she was going over the economy and effects of everything shutting down, etc.. Cannot wait for Wednesday class now! Going to be one time!

Yeah, I am fighting that urge. Every day I have to convince with myself that I do NOT need anything from the store bad enough to risk getting sick. But I want to go!

Well, I have to say, if we can keep groceries in the stores, life is going to be pretty much "business as usual" for me. I only go out to shop once a month, and at Walmart where I can get everything in one trip, including my prescriptions, and every 3 months to my doctor's appointment. And I rarely have people over to my house. I order my books online.

I was a bit worried about food supplies, but this is about what the Spanish Flu epidemic was, back in 1918...but with more mechanization and less dependence on manual labor in food preparation for stores, so I think that end of things will be OK.

I think despite what Trump says I don't think this will end by the end of this month. The stores around here have been out of TP, paper towels and water for weeks. I don't know how I am going to get more of these things when I run out of them. My sister and B/L can go shopping for me when they recover from their accident but they can't get them if the stores don't have them. To make things worse I also have IBS-D.

The governor of Virginia said today that he was going to close the schools until the fall.

Try Amazon for paper supplies. They may not have your brand but it's better than nothing. Scroll through a few pages, you may find something you can put up with at a decent price. You may also have to wait for a week before you get it so order stuff before you are all out. Better yet, invest in a bidet-like gadget, Amazon has those too and you can still get those within 2 or 3 days.
It's not that things are not available, it's that greedy people line up in front of the store before opening time and grab all they can. Some stores now have limits on some items because of that. Quite a few things come from China so it takes a while. China now has a shortage of workers so they don't manufacture as many things so that does not help either. Just remember that this too shall pass.

If you order from Walmart they will bring it out to your car and put everything in your trunk so you won't have to go through the store.

I'll check out Amazon to see what they have. I got an email from my sister saying that her husband did find some TP yesterday and he brought some for me. Things are starting to look up.
