I thought it would be mentally healthy to have a thread where there is no talk of it. I got the idea from a psychiatrist
I was listening to on the radio. He said it's not healthy to talk about it all the time. Of course we should be aware of
what is going on but we all need a break sometimes.

So let's talk about movies, tv shows, fave books, music, games, what you want to plant this spring, what shows do you like to binge on, what snack do you binge, something sweet out cats did, etc

Yesterday I watched About Last Night, the 1986 version, with Rob Lowe and Demi Moore sooo good. It's raining here and sweet Cal has been out 4 times. In and out, I feel like a doorman, ha!! I just let her back in and she is soaking wet but it didn't penetrate the lower hair.

So what about you?

Really good idea!

Didn't watch much TV last night, I was busy doing aquarium stuff on my tank and mopping up the small flood that resulted when the hose came out of the water... D'oh. Fish all good, anyway

So this weekend I plan to sit down and binge watch Supernatural Season 14. Instead of doing the housework lol.

Oh!! And I finally have proof that Dari my most timid little girl, is actually using the catio and going outside - it was raining yesterday evening and she had wet fur. The other two are in and out all the time but I've never been sure about Dari. She was first one down the stairs and out of the fairy door this morning :)

:)

I think everyone should watch The Detectorists. The first episode may make you want to turn it off and you will be asking yourself why, but it is such a wonderful show once you get past the first episode. Not to say that episode is bad. It just does not make it seem interesting enough to keep watching. I have watched the entire series multiple times.

On another note, I have been slowly making new pillows for our living room. I have one more to do. Once I am feeling better, I hope to get the kitchen finished before I start redoing my daughter's old room.

The picture is of the four patterns I chose. Two pillows have been added since this was taken, and I have eight pillows--soon to be nine--on the day bed that we use as our second couch. That is our baby Silas, the itty bitty kitten we found a year and a half ago. He is our longest and tallest cat now. Now, his tail is more than three times the total length he was when we found him.

It is currently pouring rain, and I am just about to head to bed.

The hubby has agreed Patches needs a new friend it's 7 months ago nearly that we lost Tik. A friend of my daughter's cat has just had kitten's unfortunately they already all have homes. When she heard I was after a new kitten she has put me as first reserve. Two people who are after cat's have to square it with there landlords. Not holding my breath for one of these but when I get back from Turkey I'm going in may I'll definitely be getting him a friend.

I recently watched a German movie called "Lou Andreas-Salome: The Audacity To Be Free". It's about one of the first female psychoanalysts, who didn't want to be constrained by society's expectations for women. She led a fascinating life.

Lucky you, having a new kitten. We want lots of photos when you gave him/her.

Not watching much tv lately, not a lot on that interests me at the moment. I'm going to bed early with a book, a glass of wine and two cats wrapped around my feel. I'm in heaven.

No preference whatever I'll be getting them done like Patches. So even if I did get a girl she'd be indoor only, and couldn't get pregnant from patches but the vet's I have spay and neuter from 4 months. I'm getting a kitten instead of a older cat because I think patches would be more accepting.

Oh my, Elphaba09 Elphaba09 , the Detectorists show is hilarious. And as someone in the metal detecting hobby for twelve years, I can attest that their running joke about digging up matchbox and hot wheels cars instead of old artifacts is absolutely true. The temps just need to be consistently about ten degrees warmer before I will get out mine and go out detecting but it is always something I look forward to in Springtime.

I am not sure, but I do know that you can get a free 7-day trial of Acorn TV. The episodes are short, so you should be able to get through it all easily. I watched it in 2 days. Acorn is $6 a month. Every few months, I get a month of it and watch The Detectorists, Raised By Wolves, and Poirot.

And, thank you for the compliment. I have switched the pillows every few months looking for "something." I think I found it! I love the patterns, especially together.

I consider it a nearly perfect series and am always happy to hear when someone else likes it too. Funny, heartwarming, and character-driven. what more could someone want? The ending is 99.999999% perfect and satisfying as well. The only flaw: We did not get to see them dance. The race with Simon and Garfunkle is hilarious!

I picked up some seeds for my garden today. Usually the only thing I grow is leeks because they are outrageously expensive in the stores, but I just found a much cheaper place to buy them. So this year I am giving their garden space over to carrots and green beans. Both of these freshly picked are ten times more delicious than store bought and super easy to grow. Two months till planting time but I can’t wait.

The cold water faucet is leaking big time and the valve underneath won't turn.
Liquid wrench or WD 40 on the shut off valve and a big wrench might work to turn the cold water off. I am not good with things with two many mechanical parts but I think there are washers that go bad. If you have to I suppose you could shut the water off to the whole house, take the faucet apart and bring it into a hardware store for advice and replacement parts. Good luck!

I've been watching HGTV a lot because I'm sick of COVID-19 on the cable news channels. This is a good idea for a thread.

We are having intermittent warm weather here, and I'm hoping soon to dash out outside and trim up an elm that is just a few years old. Daffodils are coming up too. Elphaba09 Elphaba09 - those pillows are beautiful. You should make some for Etsy.

I've been reading The Trail Drivers of Texas, which is a compilation of memories written by the old trail drivers. My great great uncle was a cowboy on the Chisholm trail, and he contributed one story to the book. It's interesting because the Old West was just like what we've seen in the movies - Indian raids, rustlers, gunslingers, quicksand, and all the rest of it. I thought Hollywood had exaggerated how raw it really was, but evidently not.
