He says you need to be good. He might leave coal in your mittens!

And finally, he’s be catching up on his reading. Lol He’s always interested in having more “dolls” in his life, although Flowers may not agree. Lol

He has been doing well on the heart worm preventative although he does exhibit a cough at times. He’s been sleeping curled up with Mom at night now.He also had a small ear issue but has been treated and seems to have recovered.

M maggiedemi I’m glad you liked BJ and his Lennon impression. Lol The meme is just editing to top the photo with text. My phone allows me to do that with only a little effort. We’ll have to talk about the computer you use. :)

neely neely BJ says ,”Thank you!” I think he probably has a some kind of degree. He’s so well educated. Perhaps a Catchelors degree?
I had to laugh that he picks up the glasses himself! He needed no prodding from me!

I hadn’t been posting here lately because BJ had been feeling unwell and was on some antibiotics and allergy medicine. It was concerning. Then he seemed to get over what the vet felt was an allergic reaction. We have some news! We had another vet visit.
BJ is such a sweet boy!

All cute pictures of BJ aside, this serious threat to his life is now behind him. The heartworms died, broke up and passed through his system. There were days when I was truly worried that the pieces of worms were causing him to feel bad as they made their way through him. His coughing was alarming at times and sent us scurrying to the vet. I kept him on heartworm preventative which also probably helped to kill the existing worms. Having living worms is bad but so are the dissolving particles of the dead worms as they can lodge in the heart, lungs or other places in the system. Each day is a gift. Although BJ has other health challenges, this serious threat is now gone! :woohoo::dance::bunnydance::banana2::banana1:

To everyone who has a cat, please keep them on heartworm preventatives! Kitties living strictly indoors get them too. It only takes one mosquito bite to infect your kitty. An open door, a small hole in a window screen or even a container brought in from outside can carry a mosquito. You don’t want to have your beloved baby go through this. There is no cure yet but given good care, proper nutrition, preventatives and lots of love, our kitties can beat the Heartworms. Don’t give up if your cat tests positive. BJ is an older feral that has a weakened immune system, had lacked proper care and had lived a very stressful existence outside but he survived! And he did it very well! I think he did it with a smile too! He’s a smart one. He knows how to enjoy life. Happy endings do happen. Thank you all for adding good thoughts, wishes, hopes and prayers for our big boy. In my heart I know that all played a part in his recovery. BJ and all the rest of us send you love. :redheartpump::lovecat3: All the hearts here are happy and healed. My beloved BJ has been given the gift of life.

So happy beloved BJ is heartworm free. What is the heartworm preventative you mentioned. We use Revolution even though Gypsy hates it, she gets a bit spacey after applications. Many of the neighbors use a company called "Mosquito Joe" his truck is seen all around town, so we don't have many of them flying around. I treat Gypsy when the temp is skeeter friendly.

Thank you all for the kind words and good wishes! Thank you for caring about BJ. :redheartpump: When he was diagnosed it had me worried and some of the things I noticed about him kept me worried. It’s a huge relief that the heartworms are gone. I very much wanted to give BJ a happy and comfortable life. He certainly deserves it. I couldn’t stop picking him up and snuggling after the news! I don’t think he minded too much.

We use Advantage Multicat. That is what the vet prescribed. We did have to alternate a bit for the other kitties in the house this winter to better eliminate fleas but BJ remained on the Advantage Multicat. None of my cats seemed to have any adverse reactions to it. I hate it that Gypsy gets spacey but you could ask the vet about the A/multicat. I found that it stopped working as well on the fleas here so used the Advantage 2 for a bit. That got the fleas after one application. Yay!

Bj has something to say. Sending love from my big kitty heart and....
